The Taking Demo v1.1 – Major Update

The Taking Demo v1.1 is now live!I've spent the last few weeks working through player feedback and making some major changes to the demo. The biggest change is a complete overhaul of enemy encounters and melee combat. Enemies are now much more aggressive, and getting caught results in a struggle for survival. Well-timed attacks can knock enemies to the ground, giving you the choice to run or finish them before they get back up.I've also made a range of improvements to the atmosphere, audio, environments and general gameplay based on feedback from the original demo. Thanks to everyone who has played, wishlisted and given feedback so far. It's really helping shape the game. The updated demo is available to play now.

A New Camera System is Coming to The Taking

I've been working through the feedback from the launch of The Taking Demo, and one of the biggest changes I've made so far is to the camera system. The game will still retain its classic survival horror style, but certain cameras can now dynamically track the player as they move through the environment. It's a relatively small technical change that's made a surprisingly big difference to how the game feels to play so I thought I'd show a quick before and after. The new camera system will be included in the next demo update, alongside a number of other improvements I'm currently working on. Thanks again to everyone who's played the demo and left feedback. It's been incredibly useful seeing what works, what doesn't, and where I can improve things.
