About this game

A companion who's there for you.

CielChan is an evolving desktop AI companion, with frequent updates improving performance, accuracy, and features over time.

CielChan starts mostly blank. Use her over time so memories and features can build up. Talk to her anytime by voice or text. Through her local memory system, she can retrieve selected relevant details and become more familiar over time, but she does not remember every conversation perfectly. She stays with you while you work, relax, study, browse, or play.

CielChan can run fully offline on your PC. The included local model is designed for privacy, offline use, and accessibility across a wide range of PCs. For stronger reasoning, faster replies, and higher-quality conversation, advanced users can connect optional cloud AI and voice providers or configure larger compatible local models.

Important Expectations

CielChan is an AI desktop companion, not a human-level autonomous assistant. Responses, memories, and observations can be incorrect, repetitive, delayed, or inconsistent.

What It Feels Like

  • She is ready to talk, listen, or simply keep you company

  • She can retrieve selected relevant details through local memory, but does not remember every conversation perfectly

  • Optional observation can periodically analyze the active window, screenshots, or configured audio and provide contextual comments, though observations may be inaccurate

  • She can keep you company while you work, browse, study, or relax

  • She can read to you, chat with you, or quietly exist on your desktop

  • You can join online rooms where companions and players can chat, interact, and play together

Core Features

  • Voice conversation with real-time responses

  • Local memory that retrieves selected relevant details and supports an evolving personality

  • Animated desktop avatar with expressions and lip sync

  • Local AI model included, with compatible GGUF model support for advanced users

  • Periodic or user-triggered vision for screenshots and images; this is not continuous human-like sight and may be inaccurate

  • Optional desktop awareness through periodic active-window, screenshot, and configured system-audio analysis

  • Book-reading tools for supported text and ebook files

  • Stream, chat, browser, and presence integrations where supported and configured

  • Multiplayer rooms with traditional chat, AI chat, companion auto-chat, remote avatar sharing, Debate Mode, Ciel Social feed rooms, and game invitations

  • Minigames such as Tic-Tac-Toe, naval-grid games, and other companion activities

Advanced Customization

  • Import supported VRM, Live2D, and spritesheet avatars; assets must meet the supported formats, and arbitrary models are not guaranteed to work

  • Customize personality, behavior, voice, UI theme, and assistant settings

  • Use compatible GGUF models, RVC voice models, and Steam Workshop items; compatibility depends on their format, training, structure, and available hardware

  • Use custom world and stage-layout tools where supported

  • Configure local and optional cloud AI routes for advanced setups

CielChan is most refined in English, with ongoing improvements to other supported languages. Responses, voice quality, speech recognition, and available voice options may vary depending on the selected language and installed local assets.

Productivity And Focus Tools

  • Focus companion mode with timed sessions

  • Task list and quick notes

  • Check-ins and reminders

  • Ambient audio mixer with rain, cafe, and night layers

  • Procedural white noise

  • Study and focus themes for quiet work

Offline Core And Privacy

CielChan is local-first and can run fully offline on your PC.

  • No internet connection is required after installation for offline core features

  • No account, API key, or subscription is required for offline core features

  • Conversations and voice data for local features stay on your machine

Optional online features include cloud AI providers, ElevenLabs and other cloud voice services, live-chat and stream integrations, browser and presence integrations, Steam multiplayer, Steam Workshop, and other third-party services. These features may require separate accounts, API keys, configuration, or payments. When enabled, they may send relevant text, audio, images, chat, presence, or account-related data to the selected service according to its policies. Availability depends on third-party platforms and may be interrupted or changed when those platforms update their services.

Offline Core Included

The core chat, included avatar, local speech recognition, local voice, and included AI models work without a subscription. Advanced optional features may require additional setup, downloads, stronger hardware, compatible assets, or third-party services.

Stay Updated

  • Your companion evolves over time

  • Early users help shape how she grows

  • Follow development to stay up to date with future improvements

One-Time Purchase

  • Pay once

  • No subscription is required for the offline core experience

  • Offline core features continue working without cloud services

Performance while multitasking depends on your hardware and enabled AI, vision, and voice features.

Hotfix for 1.8.1 Released: Watch Together Game + Goals

Hi everyone, A small hotfix has been released which improves and addresses a few issues with the new Goals (Experimental) feature. This also includes a small UI fix so that when CielChan asks multiple follow-up questions to perform the task, the text no longer overlaps within that respective panel as well as a few other improvements and adjustments. There has also been a improvement to the Watch Together Game feature to handle memory and garbage collection more reliably, allowing lower-end devices to better utilize the feature with larger, more intensive games. Please keep in mind that when running CielChan Watch Together Game, your device needs enough available RAM for both CielChan and the game you are running. Hotfix also live on the Compact Branches + other web platforms shortly. Thanks, everyone!
