About the Game
The Bornfire — idle bottomscreen game set in a dark fantasy world inspired by Celtic mythology.
A bonfire is burning on your screen as you perform your daily tasks, turning your taps and clicks into Imbas and Grios — two kinds of resources you can use to unlock fragments of lore, new characters, and artifacts of the world of Tirvalen. Each fragment is part of a larger story about a world that has lost its memory.

In Tirvalen, everything exists because it’s being told about. The land, the people, the spirits — they are Seankhas, a narrated reality. When a story stops being told, it fades. When it’s forgotten completely, it vanishes as if it never existed. The bonfire remembers all that was destroyed. And now it tells the world anew to those willing to listen.

From the flames emerge those the world has forgotten. They sit beside you and speak, if you are there to listen. Each character has two sides of their memory. The light side, unlocked with Imbas, holds what they wish to preserve. The dark side, unlocked with Grios, holds what they'd rather forget. Which memories to uncover? That is for you to decide. Each story revealed brings new characters to the bonfire.

Everything that happens by the bonfire is a ritual. Offerings at the altar determine who will emerge from the flames, how the weather will change, and what sounds will fill the silence. Some items unlock the path to new characters. Others change the balance of the game. Experiment! The results may surprise you.

The crackling of the fire, the sound of the wind, the rustle of the rain. Ambient music and ASMR soundscapes, living on your desktop as a background for work, study, or silence. All music is stream-safe.
The Bornfire is a world you want to stay in. A melancholy in which hope flickers.

Welcome to The Bornfire 🔥
Hey everyone, Daydreaming Games here, and this is our very first post ✨The Bornfire is a game where a campfire burns on your desktop while you work, study, or go about your day. We love the idea of a gentle kind of gameplay that keeps you company in the background without pulling you away from what you're doing. At the same time, we wanted to give it enough depth to make coming back to the fire genuinely worthwhile, so you'd want to linger there a little longer. That's why storytelling is at the heart of The Bornfire. Our world is called Tírválen. It's a land shaped by Celtic mythology, with its own conflicts, heroes, and villains. Once, it was vast and alive. Now, all that's left of it is your fire. What happened to Tírválen is something you'll piece together over time, together with those who step out of the flames. All kinds of characters find their way to the fire, and each of them has a reason to be there.Every character's memory has two sides. The bright one holds what they'd like to keep, and the dark one holds what they'd rather leave behind. The bright side is unlocked with Imbas, the dark side with Gríos. In Celtic tradition, imbas means inspiration, illumination, prophetic insight. Gríos, as we use it, stands for the shadow side of memory, the part someone would rather erase or bury in the past.As you uncover their stories, you'll get to know Tírválen more deeply, draw new guests to the fire, and open up new ways to play. There's also an altar by the fire, where you can place offerings. These are special artifacts that affect not only your stats, but the world itself, shaping who shows up next and what rewards you'll receive. It's a system we're planning to keep developing, so that offerings feel like a meaningful part of what's happening around the fire. This is our very first project, and your thoughts really matter to us. What would you want from a game like this? What would make you want to stay by the fire?Ask us anything, and we'll do our best to answer ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Mooshi)
