    1.2.1.0 Astral Gates Update

What's New?The Pill BugThe Pill Bug is a new enemy, who will bunker down and pellet you with projectiles. While bunkered it is resistant to damage, but stick around them a few seconds to scare them into un-deploying! They were designed to make sticking within a region tougher, and to push you to attack the medium range harassers. The Astral GatesThe Astral Gate is a tear in the membrane of the lab. Approach them and activate them to summon bosses early, a quick source of XP and Stars for those confident in taking them on!The Upgrades IndicatorI've noticed some players confused on a first play, so I've added an indicator to the top middle of the screen which appears when you have upgrades available, pointing to the upgrade pad. What's Changed?Big RebalancingYour base tank is now faster with a higher fire rate and less recoilYour main gun damage scales a little bit lessYour base upgrades are slightly improvedThe Tumblebot (The Barrel looking one) now explodes when approachedThe Wheelers are now more accurate and better at pathing to youFixesThe projectiles no longer jitter around when above 75fpsThe Menace Boss (The Dog looking one) now aims at you properly and drops mines more oftenThe Starship Boss no longer slingshots around erratically and will pursue you when you are not in range of its guns. The Biotitan Boss is now faster and more aggressiveThe Tentacles are now easier to spot with a unique boss iconWhat's Next?PlansI have 2 new bosses in the worksI have 1 new enemy in the worksI have a new events mechanic in the works to make each game more uniqueI am planning, but have not yet started work on map variationI want to add more things to do around the mapI want to add more achievementsI have an alternate game mode planned, but this may be a longer term goal, more news on this one when I have something to show youCasual UpdateI'm going to start putting a casual footer like this in the update notes. I'm new to publishing my own titles so I'm still learning how to make...

    Release Version - 1.2.0.1

So here is a list of changes as best as I can recall them:Further performance improvement's with a much more stable framerate and a confirmed 60+ fps on the steam deck when things are at their busiestAdded a secret involving the reactor, and some funny computersAdded the Firmware mechanic, when you reach level 50 your XP will instead go towards infinitely scaling upgrades, some overpowered, and some just sillyGave the Buddy a battle bandanaFixed immortal skelimechsFixed the Wheelers aiming and firingFixed the mini-mines scaling wrongWhat is next? For Release:We appear to be ready! And then?Outside of post-release support, I'm considering my next project. I may return to Tread Heavy to add a boss or some enemies or add in some more triggers for using the voice work I've received.I do thoroughly hope you enjoy!,ScottNos Games

    Release Candidate 1.1.3.0

So here is a list of changes as best as I can recall them:Further performance improvement's particularly when firing a lot of projectiles at onceMore consistent recovery after falling off the mapSome fixes to AchievementsA rebalance of the mines, missiles and autocannon to scale more alike the other upgradesFixes to behaviours of the Menace and Starship bossesA change to the Final Boss to take damage (although reduced) when shot in the faceThe protector drones now have a knockback effect so when they group around bosses, shooting them away is an optionDisconnecting controller, alt-tabbing or opening the steam overlay now auto-pausesSteam Cloud is now set up, as is Steam Input gamepad defaultsThere is now a counter at the end of round of how many red stars you've collectedThere is now an indicator over the stars menu button displaying if you have options available for purchaseWhat is next? For Release:While the game is feature complete I am currently working on the endless mode, including a way to further upgrade your tank, and for enemies to present more challenge. And then?I have tests ongoing for a next project, Tread Heavy was always supposed to be small in scope. After post-release support, I do want to revisit with some optimizations, a couple more enemies and bosses, and challenges within the game that aren't simply destroying enemies, I'd hope to get the game to a point where a 2 hour long round of endless offers enough challenge and variety to feel fun.Cheers,ScottNos Games

    Beta 1.0.0.0 Candidate

So here is a list of changes as best as I can recall them:A new map with new interactable's and actionable'sA new boss in The Menace, a mobile harassment bossA new boss in The Starship, a roaming bomberA final bossAn end of round at 21 minutes, with an estimated 25 - 30 minutes to finish a gameAchievementsImproved handling and speed feelRebalancing and bug fixesLots of optimizations for CPU and GPU usageNew sound effects and tweaked visual effectsWhat is next?In Terms of only getting to release:We have reached feature complete! At least, minimum feature completeness, I've still got a month left of effective dev time to squeeze extras in, so I'm not done just yet, but in terms of what I intended, it has been achieved.Otherwise:I want to work more variety in for an endless modeI've had a couple of beta testers ask about customization, so I'm going to evaluate what would fit themeAn enemy or 2 which further mix up the style of play would be nice tooPossibly a means of telling the story? We'll see what comes of this month long dev period.Cheers,ScottNos Games
