About this game

In Sheep Game: Something In The Flock, your job is simple: feed the sheep daily and make sure everything is accounted for before night falls. But each day, more sheep arrive, and not all of them are normal. Some are impostors—shape-shifters pretending to be normal sheep.

Watch the field, verify your counts, and hunt down the impostor sheep before they grow in number. The longer they stay hidden, the more dangerous things become. Keep the real sheep alive, survive the days, and figure out what is hiding among your flock.

Take Care of your Sheep

Sheep Game: Something In The Flock is a horror ranch game where your job sounds simple: take care of the sheep, keep the flock alive, and survive whatever is hiding among them

Pet the sheep, watch them wander around the ranch, and try to keep everything under control as the flock grows larger each day.

Defend the Ranch!

Not every sheep is actually a sheep.

Shapeshifters and skinwalkers will try to blend in with the flock, waiting for the right moment to strike. Watch their behavior, listen for strange sounds, and hunt down the impostors before they get too dangerous.

They will be watching and waiting for an opportunity to strike

Many Ways To Play

When you’re not dealing with monsters in sheep’s clothing, you can spend time around the ranch, goof off, explore, and mess with the sheep.

Or you can completely ignore sleep, run around in total darkness at 3 AM, and make everything worse.
Either way, there is always something to do on the ranch.

NEWS UPDATE #3 - This weeks progress

News Update #3Hey everyone, welcome back. I had some more free time this week from my job so I was able to get quite a lot done this week on the game.Short UpdateI refined most parts of the game, and remade a lot of code and assets from the prototype and early parts of the game, so now it looks better and runs smarter. I also added onto the AI of the sheep to make them react more to the world around them, no longer just wandering around. Now they eat and drink water, and move around cleaner. With that, I also added some more audio and effects. Some of the new effects are for the shotgun the player has. I added a muzzle flash and started working on bullet trails. I never did them before so they are a bit tricky for me, but it wont be long. Below will be some videos and more context on what I've done this week.New EffectsI added some new effects for the shotgun, nothing crazy. It uses Unity's Particle System to add a little flash and then I have a light component on the end of the gun to give it a flash of light at night. Here is a video showing off that!Youtube Video Of New Gun EffectsNew Sheep AIAlong with just some simple add-ons to the code itself, I added a new system for the game. So each day you now need to Feed, Count, and refill the water bin. It adds an extra step to each day, along with making some sheep now move to the food and water bins to feed. It adds a lot more to the game and makes the sheep feel more alive. Surely but slowly, it looks a lot less like Roblox's. Here is a video showing that!Youtube Video of Feeding / Water binThis little guy is really thirsty 0: Still needs a little work but the code works, just needs a little tweak. Redoing the Daily MissionsSo again, each day you need to complete tasks to maintain the ranch. I'm working on adding onto one of the main parts of the game, Feeding and Counting. Now you have to Feed, Water, Count, and worry about the health of the sheep. You need to feed them and fill that pump up each day or else the sh...

    Development Update: Monthly Progress Update

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been busy, but development is still moving forward.I’m still a long way from the end goal, but over the past month I’ve made some solid progress on the game’s scripting, finished most of the early systems, and fixed a number of bugs.Like I mentioned before, I have very limited time each day after work, so I’m usually only able to put in around 30 minutes to 2 hours a day at most if I want to get enough sleep anyway, I posted a simple video today showing off more of the game. It’s a longer video, but I go over the current state of the game and show some gameplay as well.Other than that, I don’t have too much more to share right now. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a lot of time this past month, but over the next few weeks I’ll have some actual days off during the week to work on both the game and YouTube, so stay tuned.Have a good day - BigLadKrabs

Development Update: Working Toward the Steam Demo

Sheep Game: Something In The FlockHey everyone! This is my first post here on Steam. This game has been in development for around 9 weeks, and during this time I got most of the core functions of the game working. Now I’m tweaking and finishing things up as I go. It’s still a long way from being ready for a demo, but I’ll give you a little rundown of what you will be doing in this game. A Little About The GameEach day you will need to feed and give water to your sheep, care for them, and watch over the flock. But there are wolves hidden in sheep’s clothing: Skinwalkers / Shapeshifters, who attempt to eat the sheep for food while staying away from the player until they are strong enough. So each day you will need to find these imposters and kill them to avoid damage to the flock. Each day, more and more sheep keep showing up, some normal and some not, so you will need to balance taking care of the sheep while attempting to get rid of the imposters. Don’t stay up too late at night. So that’s the basic rundown of what I’ve got in the game so far. There are still a lot of features not done yet. There is a tech demo I have posted publicly on Itch.io, where my play testers try out some things, but there is also a public build there if you wanted to play the game in its very early form.A Little About MeI am a solo developer. I’ve been learning programming and 3D modeling for almost 10 years on and off now, and I always wanted to be an indie dev growing up. Now I’m somehow 21 and here I am trying to finish a game. I only really went public on YouTube about a year ago and have never finished a game, just a lot of small side projects and tiny games I made for fun. But I tried my hand at making larger projects, and this game is the one I liked the most. So I told myself there was no time to stop now and got a Steam page up. I’m still learning a lot about being a game dev, but that’s half the fun. I will attempt to post quite often about updates and what something new I added, bu...
