Bloody Moon - First Fear

Baaelith Games · Published by Independent

Content notice: Bloody Moon: First Fear is a survival horror game that emphasizes a persistent atmosphere of visceral dread and psychological tension. The experience includes graphic depictions of violence and gore rooted in a dark occult history where rituals and predation are central to the narrative. Players are placed in a position of absolute vulnerability, with no weapons and a total lack of interface, forcing them to face gruesome environments and hidden threats. The story explores mature themes such as the manipulation of influential circles by secret societies and the physical and mental scarring of individuals caught within a thousand-year-old prophecy.

Nostradamus and Catherine de Médicis shared a secret that history buried on purpose. Perpetuated on the nights the Moon turns into blood in a place swallowed by the earth and forgotten. We will not tell you more. Only that every single piece of this story existed. And it’s terrifying.

About this game

A Prophecy of Blood

Bloody Moon: First Fear slips into the black holes of French history.

On 10 July 1559, the husband of Catherine de Médicis dies from a lance splinter that entered his eye at a tournament ten days earlier. That is a fact. Everyone knows it. That is where our story begins.

But behind the facts we know, Nostradamus and the Queen shared a secret that history buried on purpose. A secret paid on the rare nights the Moon turns into blood.

It begins in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the ruins of Glanum. A place swallowed by the earth and forgotten, that no one uncovered until 1921. But the horror down there is far older than the Romans. Before them lived a forgotten people who cut the heads from their victims and offered them to ancient Gods.

We will not tell you more. Only this: every single piece of this puzzle existed.

And that is the vertigo. Is all of it true?

Nobody is coming for you

You wake up at the bottom of a mass grave.

They threw you in with the rest, because your blood was declared unworthy. Nobody is coming back to help. As far as the cult that put you down here is concerned, you have already been disposed of.

The rite did not work. But it did something to you. Now you can see in the dark and the light burns you. It is a gift, as it is a wound. And it is yours, for as long as you last.

No weapons. No interface. No way out, but go up, through a place built to leave no trace, no witness, and nothing to find.

The Awakening of Pure Horror

There is no sanity bar, no map, no icon blinking to warn you that you are losing it. There is no interface at all. We took everything off the screen.

There is only your body. And it's going to sell you out.

Down here, sound is the only thing that kills. What hunts you cannot see in the dark. It does not need to. It hears everything. Bloody Moon: First Fear listens to your real microphone.

There is nothing left between you and them. Your breathing is them breathing. Scream in your room and all the crypt hears you.

In this game, panic is something you feel and it will haunt you.

    Dev Update : 4

Panic is not something you feelOpening a door in Bloody Moon takes one second. Unless she is terrified. Then it takes long enough to kill her. Same door, same animation, same button. Her hands simply stop obeying her. This is not an effect slapped onto the scene. It comes out of a system we have been writing in C++ for months. We call it the Paranoia Manager. This update is about what it actually does.Fear as a real thingIn most horror games, fear belongs to you, the one sitting in the chair. The game shows you something and hopes you jump. In ours, fear also exists inside the engine, as a real quantity with a real value. Every threatening thing in the world, a monster, a place, an object, gives off some, and it grows stronger as it gets closer. At all times, without ever being told to, she adds up everything that wants her dead. What comes out is a single signal. That signal does nothing on its own. It broadcasts. Components all over her body are subscribed to it, none of them knows about the others, and each one takes something from her in its own corner. Fear is not one big block of code in this game. It is a number nobody sees, and a stack of symptoms. What it takes from herHer vision closes in until she is looking through a tunnel. Her hands shake, and the light she is holding shakes with them. Her breathing gets loud. Loud enough to cover the sound of what is hunting her. Her heart reaches her ears, and the dark at the edges starts pulsing with it. Her hands turn slow and clumsy on everything she tries to touch. She starts seeing them, standing where there is no one. And she runs faster. That is the only thing fear gives her. Everything else, it takes. It is fight or flight, and it is a poisoned gift. Why it feeds on itselfNone of these symptoms is decorative. They close in on one another. Her breathing covers the sound of the thing. The more afraid she is, the less she hears it coming. The less she hears it, the more afraid she is. The cultists do not look for ...
