About this game

Make It a Million is a number-placement puzzle that's easy to get into and explosive to play.

The goal is simple: draw cards and place them on a 5×5 grid. One rule — numbers must go in ascending order from left-to-right and top-to-bottom across every row and column. Easy to learn, but the challenge scales fast.

★ NEW — Relaxed Mode
Just want to unwind? Switch on Relaxed when you start a game: no countdown, no rival bot, no game over. Place tiles, clear lines, watch your score climb. All the puzzle, none of the pressure.

★ NEW — Fever & Overdrive
Chain your clears to fill the Fever meter. Max it out to hit OVERDRIVE — the screen erupts, the effects go wild, and your score surges. The most satisfying few seconds in the game.

Rock-Paper-Scissors Stacking
Each card carries a symbol. Place a matching number on an occupied cell and win the symbol clash to stack the cards, earn bonus points, and clear space. Chain your line clears to skyrocket your Multiplier.

Key Features:

  • Two ways to play — no-fail Relaxed to chill, or the full game to chase 1,000,000

  • Rush Mode — a 1-minute 3×3 sprint with its own Steam leaderboard

  • Combos that snowball — Double, Triple and MEGA combos, with the board's colors heating up as your Multiplier climbs

  • Daily Missions, achievements, and quick pick-up-and-play sessions

  • Now playable in 10 languages

  • Early Access — the full loop is here, with more on the way. All future updates included.

Make It a Million - v0.10.0 Patch Notes

⚡ Rush Mode Is Here! A brand-new way to play Make It A Million: fast, risky, and very score-hungry. Rush Mode is a 3×3 sprint with its own rules: - 1-minute timer - Classic rules only - No Rival Bot - Deck numbers limited to 2–5 - Reach 100,000 points before time runs out Rush also has its own leaderboard, so your fastest high-pressure runs now have a proper place to shine. 🧩 Rush Edge Boosts Rush Mode introduces hidden edge drawers around the board. These boosts rotate during the run, and once you place a card in a linked cell, that boost locks in until the cell is cleared. Possible Edge Boosts include: - + Time - - Time - + HP - Score multiplier boosts - Bombs, which clear placed-number cells but score 0 for that clear Line clears in Rush now push the multiplier higher, making every good clear more explosive. 💰 Daily Missions + M Coins Daily Missions now appear directly on the main menu. Complete rotating missions to earn M Coins. M Coins are part of the foundation for future cosmetic and collection features. Rush Mode can also reward M Coins when you successfully reach the 100,000-point target. 🎓 Better Onboarding and Tutorial Hints New-player guidance has been expanded across the game: - Welcome popup support - Mode rules popup when entering a mode - Optional tutorial hints in Settings - A guided UI walkthrough for first-time players - First-move coach improvements - Softer highlights for newly unlocked tools - More contextual tips while learning how to place numbers and clear lines Tutorial Hints and Welcome messages can now be toggled separately in Settings. 🏆 Leaderboard Improvements Leaderboards received several upgrades: - Rush leaderboard support - Score date display - Run time display for submitted scores - Clearer filter buttons - Improved leaderboard row readability - Visual polish for leaderboard icons and badges 🎨 UI and Icon Polish Many emoji-style icons have been replaced or improved with pixel-art icons, including: - Main menu buttons - Settings op...

Make It A Million — v0.9.5t Patch Notes

🏆 Steam Leaderboards Are Here! The headline feature — climb the ranks two ways: - Weekly — a fresh ladder that resets every Monday. New week, clean slate, new shot at #1. - All-Time — your best scores ever… but stay sharp: set a new personal record at least once a week, or your name slides down to the inactive tier (with a "💤 last record Xd ago" tag). The top of the board belongs to active players. Filter the All-Time boards by your exact ruleset — Timer / Bot / Guide Dots, on or off — so you only ever compete against players on the same settings. Browse Global, Friends, or the players right around your rank. 🛡️ Built-in cheat protection keeps the boards honest — forged scores are filtered out. 🃏 Special Cards, Reworked Every special card now plays bolder and bends the rules its own way: - 📍 Position — place on the colored corner zones: red = 1, blue = 10 - 🌟 Wild Number — drop on any empty cell to complete a line (scores 0, but plugs the gap) - 🪞 Mirror — tap an empty cell, then a pulsing neighbour to copy its value - 💎 Doubler — play on a filled cell to double it; push it past 9 to lock it in - 🎨 Wild Symbol & 🃏 Joker round out the set A brand-new tutorial step walks you through all of them. 🎬 Auto-Placed Opening No more staring at an empty board — every run now begins with your first card already placed on a smart opening spot. Straight into the action. ✨ Roomier Main Menu A cleaner, less cramped layout: a big PLAY button up top, everything else in a tidy two-column grid. 🐛 Fixes & Polish - Special cards display correctly after returning from the menu — no more phantom symbols - Mirror copying a Wild Number now shows properly - Doubler can no longer be wasted on value-less cells - "New Game" reliably appears when a run is in progress - Achievement count corrected for players who'd already collected everything - Stability + logging improvements under the hood

Make It A Million — v0.9.5s Patch Notes

🐛 Crash Fixes — Force Clear is FINALLY safe After a thorough sweep of the codebase, all Force Clear Row / Column crashes should now be resolved. Several lurking animation bugs were behind the persistent crashes — they're all fixed: - 🤖 Bot cell markers - 🔒 Cell Lock badges - ✨ Armed-skill icon pulses in the store HUD You can use Force Clear skills (and combine them with Cell Lock or Bot encounters) without worrying about the game dying on you. ⏱️ Rule Rotation Popup — Instant When the puzzle rules change (every 10 or 30 line clears), the rules popup now appears immediately instead of after a ~7-second delay. No more placing cards under the old rules without realizing they've changed. 🤖 Bot Appearance — Cleaner Sequence The Rival Bot's introduction now follows a clear, deliberate sequence: - Bot Appears — full intro banner plays - Grid greys out — "BOT THINKING…" - Bot acts — places its card - Filter removed + green YOUR TURN flag No more bot moves overlapping with the intro cinematic. 🚫 No Stacking + Rival Bot — Auto-Resolved These two together created a death spiral: you couldn't reclaim bot cells (no stacking allowed), so the board filled with mixed lines that never cleared. Now the game automatically swaps out No Stacking whenever it conflicts with an active Rival Bot, and tells you why: ⚠️ Sub-rules rerolled — No Stacking conflicts with the Rival Bot The rule popup pops open so you can read your new constraints immediately.

Make It A Million — v0.9.5r Patch Notes

🐛 Crash Fixes - Force Clear Row / Column → no more crashes. Using a row/column cleaner and then placing a new card is now safe. - NEW HIGH SCORE banner crash on retry → fixed. Replaying after beating your record won't kill the game anymore. - Bot-thinking overlay crash → fixed (from the previous hotfix — re-noting in case you missed it). - Did a full sweep for similar issues across the rest of the codebase. Several other animations got hardened the same way as a precaution. ⚖️ Balance: Adjacent Rule Loosened The Adjacent sub-rule has been changed from ≤ 1 to ≤ 2 difference between neighbouring cells. Why? The old rule had impossible combos: - Adjacent ≤ 1 + Odd Only → odd values (3/5/7/9) all differ by 2, so nothing could chain - Adjacent ≤ 1 + Even Only → same trap with 2/4/6/8 With ≤ 2, every consecutive odd or even number chains naturally, plus the rule can now combine with Center-Out and Frame main rules (which were previously locked out). 🤖 Rival Bot: Snappier Shifts The Rival Bot's deck is now 12 cards (was 24). Same cooldown ladder (returns at 50K → 100K → 200K → 400K → 800K continuous), but each "shift" is shorter — so you get more rest periods between bot threats, and the bot's appearances feel more deliberate when they happen. 🌐 Localization Fix The Reroll Sub-rules skill was showing its raw key name (STORE_SKILL_REROLL_SUBS_NAME) instead of localized text. All three missing keys now have full translations in every supported language.

    Make It A Million — 28 May 2026 Updates

🐛 Critical Fix Crash when the Rival Bot took its turn — fixed. You can play long sessions without losing progress. ✨ Four New Store Skills 🎲 Odd Focus (3,500) — Next deck reroll fills 70% odd values (3/5/7/9). Counter for the Odd Only sub-rule. 🎲 Even Focus (3,500) — Same idea, 70% even values (2/4/6/8). For Even Only. 🎯 Tight Spread (3,500) — 70% mid values (4/5/6). Designed for the Adjacent ≤ 1 sub-rule. ♻ Set Zero (3,000) — Instantly wipes your deck. Hand, Next, and Storage are kept. Combo with a Focus skill + Reroll for a fully biased 48-card rebuild. 🚫 Unwanted (4,500) — Pick any value 2–9. Every matching card in your deck transforms to a different random value (symbols stay). Cancel for a full refund. 🤖 Smarter Rival Bot The bot now plays in shifts: - 24-card deck per appearance (down from 48) - After its deck empties → cooldown - Returns at doubling score milestones: 50K → 100K → 200K → 400K → 800K - From 800K onward, the bot is a constant presence Plus a new "BOT THINKING…" overlay greys out the grid while the bot decides — no more wasted rush-clicks. A green YOUR TURN banner pops in when you're back in control. 📐 Rule Tweak: Adjacent ≤ 1 Relaxed - Before: every neighbour had to be within ±1 (often unplayable) - Now: at least one neighbour needs to be within ±1 - More neighbours = more flexibility 🎴 Quality of Life - Special cards auto-draw into your hand after purchase. The previous card goes back to the deck — press Pass to swap if you change your mind. - Pass button auto-disables when the NEXT slot is empty. - Screen tearing fixed — VSync enabled. - Save bug fixed — your board now persists correctly across Main Menu → Play Again. 📚 Tutorial Updated to cover all the new mechanics. Returning players can replay it any time via the bottom-left "?" button.
