About this game
Sunrise Isles is a cozy hangout game where you and your friends can explore a small-but-spacious island, take on roles that fulfill other players' needs, or just chill and talk!
SO MUCH TO DO
From chopping trees to driving cargo trucks, you'll always have something to do! Catch fish, cook them on the wood you chopped and enjoy a fresh smoothie from all the fruit gathering you've done along the way. Not your style? Maybe you'd prefer to design clothes for the island's residents! Use cotton to create fashionable outfits for you and your friends. You could be a home decorator and build the furniture and appliances for the island's houses! Perhaps a farmer that grows the island's most reliable supply of crops? You could even be a driver and haul goods all across the island for whoever may need things from different regions!

Utilizing a wide array of eyes and body patterns with full control over the colors, create your very own cute avatar that instantly shows off your personality to others online. You can even customize your dialogue bubbles!
A LIVING ISLAND, FROM DAWN TO DUSK
From the calm waves at the beach to the howling winds of the alpine forest, there's always something whispering in your ear. Birds, butterflies, cicadas and more are the island's natural inhabitants, and they're happy to make themselves known! All of the various regions provide different resources, as well as their own geographical and traversal challenges. With a full weather system and day-and-night cycles, every day on the island feels fresh!
CHATTING'S A JOY
Chatting isn't just how you speak to others on the island. Messages have you "talking" in an adorable voice, and by utilizing special characters, you can even control the pitch and tempo of each word, allowing you to sing songs! Not only that, but holding an instrument will have you playing it instead of talking, letting you perform music to any willing audience!
TAKE IT EASY
Even if nobody takes on a role, the island lives on and characters never get hurt. You can help out, but if you just want to hang out and chill, that's great - I created the island to be a cozy hangout spot!

Hey!If you played the demo during Next Fest, first and foremost: Thank you.This is my first commercial game, and it was a very nerve-wracking experience to get the demo all ready and polished for Next Fest. There were still a couple of bugs that I couldn't catch before release, but I appreciate everyone that let me know about them on the feedback forums so I could release hotfixes for them, so thank you for that!Secondly, to be honest, I think I missed the mark.Even if you bring some fresh ideas to a specific genre of games, choosing a multiplayer hangout was a risky move, and it shows. Despite there being a fair amount of things you can do, "just because" isn't that great a motivator for most people, even when talking about chill cozy games. Not having any clear goals also meant that there wasn't really an indicator of what you can do, so I understand if you felt the game felt empty and void of purpose.With all that being said, Sunrise Isles will be pivoting.While I still want the game to be allowed to be a cozy hangout spot for those that want it to stay that way, I also want it to have a lot more substance, more sauce, than vibes and aesthetic. Hey everyone!Sunrise Isles is now playable as a free demo during Steam Next Fest!From June 15th until June 22nd, you can take a trip to one of the most relaxing hangout spots out there!While you're here, why not try:Customizing your character from various options of eye shapes, body patterns and full color range,Crafting your own cargo truck to haul goods across the island,Creating your own little garden using a shovel,Decorating one of the houses across the island into a cozy home or a trading spot,Visit the warm bonfires on the beaches and the frigid winds of the summit,Forage for resources and fish for... fish...Just know that this demo is a work in progress, so some things may not be representative of the finished game.
