About this game

Build a City. Prepare It for the Experiment.

GENERATIONS: Utopia is a city-building strategy game about creating the ideal Soviet society inside a secret experiment conducted by a classified Soviet research institute.

Build a miniature city where five generations live side by side.

- Build your city

- Create comfortable living conditions

- Monitor your citizens' wellbeing

- Resolve generational conflicts

But building the city is only the beginning.

The real challenge starts when the Institute launches its next experiment.

A Living Generational Simulation

Silent Generation · Baby Boomers · Generation X · Millennials · Generation Z

Each generation has its own unique traits and nine individual parameters.

A disease outbreak will hit older generations the hardest, while Generation X endures it more easily, and Gen Z may barely notice it. But when famine strikes, the older generations survive far better thanks to their gardens and food reserves, while younger generations struggle. What saves one generation may break another.

The Institute's Experiment

The Institute is constantly testing your Utopia. Some experiments are known in advance, while others remain a complete surprise.

Once an experiment begins, you can no longer interfere. All you can do is watch as each generation reacts in its own way. Every outcome is recorded in the Institute's log. Failure isn't the end—it's valuable data.

After each experiment, the city remains exactly as it survived. Rebuild. Adapt. Prepare for the next test.

Your city. Their generations. The Institute's experiment.

Build the city. Balance the generations. Prepare for the unknown.

Citizens and ObserversWe are opening the first closed playtest of Generations: Utopia an early playable version covering two population generations and the core city management systems. In the current build, the following core simulation systems are already functional:- production and resources- citizen parameters- workforce health simulation- ministries- household incidents with manual player intervention- building influence system- a baseline model of population tension with the risk of riots and stabilization mechanicsThe system is still under active development: balance, UI, projects, full minister logic, and parts of intergenerational conflict systems are not yet complete or are temporarily disabled for polishing. Several areas; including trade, banking, loans, taxation, and tourism are also in early development stages.Testing ObjectivesTo observe how the system behaves under real gameplay conditions: where players understand what is happening, where control breaks down, and where unexpected scenarios and decisions emerge. We are not looking for a “perfect game” we are looking for its weak points. We ask participants to- play the alpha build- leave a report via the feedback form- optionally join the discussion on Discord
