Roadmap

About the Game

Dread Admiral is a turn-based naval roguelite where you command a persistent fleet across a hostile archipelago. Every ship you build carries forward, and every ship you lose is lost forever. Every turn you spend on a mission is a turn less for the future - and a turn closer to a relentless enemy engulfing you.

Earn ranks, unlock Perks and technology, and earn upgrades for your Flagship even when you lose.

No two campaigns play the same. Navigate unpredictable mission modifiers against AI Admirals with distinct personalities and tactics, deciding when you fight and when you flee.
Every turn, the Black Fleet gets closer - will you gather more resources and ships, or will you abandon your mission to buy time?

Alternating Activations - You're always looking for the next best move, as is your opponent. Every ship has been delicately balanced to have a role to play.

Dread Admiral is perfect for players who enjoyed FTL, Urtuk: The Desolation, or Darkest Dungeon.
You will lose. You will make tough decisions. You will run out of time. You will fail mission objectives. You will eke out victory by the slimmest of margins against an AI that adapts its fleet and economy to yours.

Patch NotesOfficial
Version 1.0.4 - routine maintenance
Map Balance: * Cities are more likely to be evenly spread horizontally. -> Note: Only affects new campaigns/skirmish. The entire campaign map is generated on creation. Balance: * Patrols' coverage extended by ~15% Minor: * Fixed a rare bug where a Fort would somehow get an Engine Damaged crit. (Don't know the root cause.) * Action Info Panel and Purchase Panel descriptions should now move out of the way of the mouse cursor/generally be out of the way of the buttons * If there is a non-Zero profile to load (e.g. an online profile) the game will attempt to load that over an offline profile. * Possible fix for bug where multiple units could jump on top of one another during a multi-move * Mild speedup for multi moves * Enemy Flagships are now more likely to attempt to Capture some cities on their side of the map. * Crit Icons now tell you what they are as a tooltip * Carriers gain XP a little bit slower now from Plane actions. * Fixed a bug where Recon would click the City beneath it.Read full article on Community Announcements (Tescrin Games)Patch NotesOfficial
Version 1.0.3 - Reduced Difficulty (Easier/Normal)
Campaign Balance: Easier/Normal (in each of the cases below, the first change is for Easier and the second for Normal) * Chance of Modifiers reduced by roughly 25% (relative.) * Anti-snowball bonus fleet for AI reduced by 33-50%. (.3->.15 and .4 to .3) * Ai money reduced 33% and 20% respectively (from 15->10 per mission and 25->20 per mission) * Ai fleet reduced by $35 and $25 on all missions * Ai fleet scaling reduced by 33% on Easier (15->10 per mission), 25% on normal (20->15 per mission) * Admiral Bonus Fleet reduced by $50 and $25 * Ai bonus fleet for Protect/Friendly cities reduced (100->25, 100->50) * Ai will take more risky fights more often now (should make the game easier) * City populations for initial hostile city reduced by 1 pop per mission (e.g. M10 would be 10 pop smaller) * 's reduced by 16% and 12.5% Minor: * Victory banner should now appear during normal missions that you beat * Light ships should be less inclined to Skirmish with Armored shipsRead full article on Community Announcements (Tescrin Games)Patch NotesOfficial
1.0.2b
Hotfix: Dodge values lowered by roughly 40-50%Read full article on Community Announcements (Tescrin Games)Patch NotesOfficial
Version 1.0.2
Balance: * Hostile Territory modifier will now control less cities for the first few missions. Note: This modifier was originally intended to be the most dangerous, so despite recent nerfs, it probably still is. Bugfixes: * Planes are forced to land if they circle for 8 seconds (this includes the flight time home.) -> I am looking for a better fix but this is a stop gap since this is not easily reproduced. * Objective Window will now update when you Raze or destroy a city. QoL: * Added Victory/Defeat bannersRead full article on Community Announcements (Tescrin Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
