About this game

You play as Adam Crimson, the son of a captain in a military unit fighting crime.

His father raises him with strict military discipline, moving from one service apartment to another and never staying in one place for long. None of this helps Adam make friends or become a model student at school.

As corporations intensify their struggle for spheres of influence in space, a Resistance movement begins to emerge within society.

Who will you become in this story? You are not yet a hero - just a young man caught in the heart of a time of change.
Will you follow your father's path, or choose your own road?

A HIGH DEGREE OF VARIABILITY

No fake choices! Your decisions affect not only the course of events, but also Adam himself: his personality, views, and relationships with other characters.

Even a small action can change the tone of a scene, open up a new path, or lead to consequences that will only become clear much later.

Every visual element is created by hand. In the Gallery section, you can explore the artists’ work - from character concepts and environment sketches on paper to their transfer into digital form, further refinement, and animation.

Each illustration was created with attention to the atmosphere of the world: cold cities of the future, tense conversations, and small details that make the story feel alive.

No empty characters or overused clichés! Every character reveals the world in their own way, influences the story, and helps you see events from a different perspective.

The characters have their own motives, weaknesses, fears, and beliefs. Some will become allies, some will become a challenge, and some will make you question whether a truly right choice even exists.

Original music, written by the composer specifically for the game, helps immerse the player in the harsh world of the future.

The soundtrack highlights the mood of each scene: from quiet personal moments to tense episodes where every decision carries the weight of what is yet to come.

Dev Diary #002: Building the World of Crimson Frontier: Youth

Hello everyone! In our first developer diary, we talked about the characters of Crimson Frontier: Youth — how their personalities, stories, and roles in the narrative gradually take shape as visual designs. In this developer diary, we’re talking about the environments of Crimson Frontier: Youth — how locations are created, how the script is transformed into visual spaces, and how color, lighting, and small everyday details help reveal the world of the game. Evgeniy Khe, Lead Background Concept Artist, told us more about the process. How many artists are currently working on the backgrounds?Besides me, there are currently three other artists on the team. Some of them are my former students, while others are former colleagues or friends. Everyone works on different tasks, while my role is primarily to coordinate the team and set priorities. How do you create a location that makes players want to stop and explore the details?First of all, we draw on our own gaming experience and preferences. We love playing games ourselves, and we especially appreciate games where it’s interesting to stop and look closely at the environments. That’s one of the reasons we enjoy working on Crimson Frontier: Youth so much — there are plenty of details, and every background helps tell the story.Where does work on a new background begin?Everything starts with the script. We read it together, discuss it, and identify the scenes that need locations. After that, we begin working — starting with the first rough sketches and gradually moving toward more detailed and complex development. What matters most when creating a location: story, atmosphere, or visual appeal? The question already contains much of the answer.A location without a story is simply empty. It needs to have its own atmosphere and evoke some kind of emotion. And, of course, it should also be visually appealing.Different things attract different people — some are drawn to the atmosphere, some to the details, and others to the story itself...

Developer Diary #001: Creating the Characters of Crimson Frontier: Youth

Hello everyone!Today we’re kicking off a new series of development posts about Crimson Frontier: Youth. In these devlogs, we’ll take you behind the scenes of our audiovisual novel, introduce different members of the team, and show how the game evolves from ideas and sketches into the world you’ll eventually experience on screen. For our first devlog, we’re starting with one of the most important parts of that world: the characters. We sat down with our Lead Character Artist, Anastasia Shurkina, to talk about how a character goes from a few lines in the script to a complete visual design — and how personality, story, clothing, color, posture, and even tiny accessories can tell you something about who that person really is.What comes first when creating a new character: their personality, their story, or their appearance? There’s no single formula. With some characters, their actions and dialogue are what define them first, so their story becomes the foundation of the design. With others, their appearance does most of the talking — a particular look in their eyes, a hairstyle, a pose — and the visual side becomes the starting point.Every character has something different at their core. That said, the story usually comes first, simply because the script exists long before we begin working on the visuals. How do you turn a written character description into an actual character? When I read a character description or some of their dialogue, I usually start seeing them in my head almost immediately. That first mental image becomes the foundation.I begin with quick sketches of the face: the portrait, expressions, and especially the eyes. After that, I explore posture, body type, and hairstyle.Once the direction is approved, I move on to clothing and the overall color palette. That’s also when I start adding smaller details and accessories — the things that make the character feel like a specific person rather than just a design. How important is personality when designing a charact...
