About this game
BUILD YOUR OWN POWER
Every dungeon is more than just a battle; it’s also an opportunity. Use the resources you collect to build your own strength. Craft and upgrade your weapons, and use what you earn from dungeons to improve your equipment.
ENTER THE DUNGEON, SURVIVE OR LOSE EVERYTHING
The remnants of collapsed universes have been transformed into dungeons… You and your team must set out from the Sky’s Edge and venture into these dark worlds to survive. With support for 1–6 player co-op, challenge the dungeons alone or dive in alongside your friends. With Souls-like combat mechanics, every battle demands focus, timing, and strategy. Defeat bosses, claim their treasures, but be careful: if you die, you could lose everything.
FIGHT YOUR ENEMIES
Every dungeon awaits you with its own unique enemies, dangers, and powerful boss battles. Fight your way through the depths of each dungeon with your friends, defeat the enemies you encounter, overcome obstacles, and work together as a team to clear your path. Discover the unique atmosphere and challenges of every dungeon, then face the powerful boss waiting for you at the end and claim your victory!

Hotfix Update: Multiplayer Fixes, Storage & Progression Improvements!
Hello everyone, Noxen here!First of all, thank you so much for the incredible support and for all the feedback you've shared since our Early Access launch over the past few days. Thanks to your detailed bug reports, I’ve been tracking down and working on fixes for the most critical issues affecting multiplayer, progression, and saves. Here are the patch notes for today's update: Loot & Dungeon MechanicsLoot Distribution: Addressed the issue where loot from enemies, bosses, mining, and woodcutting was only going to the Host. Items should now properly distribute directly to the player who dealt the damage or gathered the resource.Dungeon Wave Triggers: Dungeon waves should no longer require the Host to step inside first. Any player entering the room should now be able to trigger and start the dungeon encounter.Floor Portal Visual Sync: Looked into the visual bug where the portal to the next floor stayed red (locked) for client players after clearing the room. It should now sync properly and turn green for everyone at the same time.Dungeon Door Physics & Desync: Worked on the physical desync issues with dungeon doors. Client-side doors shouldn't slide out of place, fling away upon collision, or leave behind invisible walls anymore. Save & Inventory SystemGuild Storage Overhaul: Rewrote the Guild Storage (shared chest) save system. Items placed in storage should no longer disappear upon exiting. To prevent item duplication, shared storage data is now directly tied to the Host’s world save.Personal Inventory & Equipment: Addressed the bug where inventory items, equipped armor, weapons, and potions would vanish after rejoining the game. They should now persist properly.Stat Reset Issue: Worked on a fix for character stat points resetting or getting overridden when connecting to a server.UI & NetworkingSteam Invites & Class Selection: Accepting a Steam invite should no longer skip the character selection screen or force you into the "Tank / Bear" class. You should now be ab...Read full article on Community Announcements (Noxen)AnnouncementsOfficial
Early Access Day 1: New Features, Known Issues & What's Next!
Hello everyone, Noxen here!Dungeons & Animals is officially in Early Access! I want to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has jumped into the game. Watching you explore, build, and fight on day one has been absolutely amazing. Before we get to the bug reports, I want to share a few things I managed to add and tweak right before we hit the launch button:New Additions & Changes:Audio Improvements: Walking sound effects have been fixed (footsteps used to only play when running). I’ve also implemented a regional/positional footstep sound system (currently active in specific areas).Controls Menu: Added a text layout for controls in the menu so you can check keybinds (rebinding is not available just yet, but the info is there!).Camera Update: I have removed the First-Person (FPS) perspective for now, as it was causing significant sizing and scaling issues.Steam Cloud Save: I have started integrating Steam Cloud Saves! It's implemented but still needs some testing on my end.Boss UI: Bosses now have proper health bars.New Summer-Themed Dungeon: Added a brand new dungeon! It features recolored enemies, but be prepared—the mob density is massive, so expect huge swarms!Critical Fixes: Squashed about 5 to 10 major game-breaking bugs that were causing crashes and severely impacting playability before launch. While it’s been a great first day, you guys have also helped me spot some pesky bugs. I am reading all of your feedback on our Discord server, and I am already working on fixing them. Here is a list of the known issues we are currently tackling for the upcoming hotfix:Known Issues & Bug Fixes in Progress:Loot Desync: When playing multiplayer, loot from mining rocks, chopping wood, and possibly even drops from enemies sometimes doesn't drop into the client player's inventory. Instead, it all goes to the host. I am working on a fix for this.Class Selection Bug: Selecting Mage or Warrior sometimes forces you to spawn as a Tank.Workaround: Try joining your friends usi...Read full article on Community Announcements (Noxen)AnnouncementsOfficial
Early Access Build is Complete!
Hello everyone, Noxen here!I have some huge news to share with you all today: The Early Access version of Dungeons & Animals is finally complete! All the core mechanics, features, and content planned for the initial launch are now fully integrated into the game. What happens next? Right now, my priority is making sure the game runs as smoothly as possible. Over the next few days, I will be compiling several test builds to playtest the game extensively and do a final wave of bug fixes.Once I am confident that the build is stable, I will officially submit it to Steam for the review and approval process. While waiting for Steam’s green light, I will be shifting my focus to updating and polishing the Steam Store page (new screenshots, updated descriptions, etc.) so everything looks perfect for launch day.We are incredibly close to the finish line. Thank you all for your immense patience, support, and for following this journey. I can't wait to get the Early Access build into your hands!See you soon,NoxenRead full article on Community Announcements (Noxen)Patch NotesOfficial
Update: Core Mechanics & Early Access Timeline!
Hello everyone, Noxen here!I am happy to announce that the foundation for our core mechanics is finally set up!The Attribute (Stat) System and the Skill Tree have been successfully integrated into the game. Just to be completely transparent: the skill tree isn't massive just yet. For the initial Early Access launch, I am only adding a few passive skills to get things started. And as a quick reminder, these features are being saved exclusively for Early Access, so you won't see them in the current demo. What's next? For the next few days, I will be entirely focused on polishing the "game feel"—making sure the combat is satisfying, the movement is fluid, and everything feels responsive. After that, I'll be doing one final bug-fixing pass and making the last UI adjustments.Once those final touches are done (and assuming no major unexpected issues pop up), Dungeons & Animals will launch into Early Access by the end of this month at the latest! We are on the final stretch. Thank you all so much for sticking with me, testing the demo, and showing your support.See you in Early Access soon!NoxenRead full article on Community Announcements (Noxen)Patch NotesOfficial
Demo Update: Bug Fixes & Next Steps
Hello again, Noxen here!I just pushed a new patch for the demo. This update is strictly focused on bug fixes. I am happy to report that all the known issues I mentioned in the previous announcement—including the multiplayer sync, missing audio, class selection bug, and UI glitches—should now be fully resolved! With these bugs finally out of the way, I am now shifting my full attention back to building and setting up the remaining core mechanics (like the Character Attributes and Skill Tree) for the upcoming Early Access release. However, game development is tricky, especially when working solo! If you happen to discover any new bugs while playing, or if you notice that some of the recent fixes aren't working properly on your end, please don't hesitate to let me know. You can easily report them by writing a post in the Steam Community Hub. I read every single post, and I will try my absolute best to fix any issues you report in the next update.Thank you for playing, testing, and helping me make this game better!NoxenRead full article on Community Announcements (Noxen)
