About this game

Victor’s Video Vault is a first-person horror game that turns a 1995 Video Store Into a Reality-Bending Nightmare. The night shift at Video Vault is about survival. When the last customer leaves, the final rental begins to rewrite reality inside the store.

  • A Different Nightmare Every Night
Each shift brings a new reality. One night, the store floods, forcing you through rising water while something hunts below. The next, a crashed alien vessel turns the aisles into a living hive.

  • Learn the Rules or Die
Every film follows its own logic. Adapt to shifting environments, uncover the rules, and survive what the store becomes.

  • A Tangible 90s World
Plastic cases snap in your hands. CRTs flicker and hum. Every detail grounds you in a physical, analog nightmare.

  • A Separate, Replayable Mode
Step five years into the past and uncover the Vault's first outbreaks.

  • Investigate What Happened
Search the store, document anomalies, and uncover what it's becoming.

  • Victor's Journal
Record rare phenomena and track what you discover as each run reveals new details.

  • No Two Runs Are the Same
Events, encounters, and discoveries shift every time you enter the Vault.

  • Reality Changes Every Night
The layout, physics, and behavior of the store shift as it begins to break down.

  • Survive, Investigate, Progress
Solve environmental puzzles, uncover what's changing, and make it through the night.

  • Secrets Beneath the Surface
Hidden rooms and "deleted scenes" appear as the store begins to fracture.

  • A Grounded 90s World
Hand-drawn pixel art and a tactile, analog atmosphere inspired by 1990s video stores.

And if you haven’t played the Victor’s Video Vault demo yet, now is a great time to jump in and experience your first closing shift at Video Vault! The current demo is just a small slice of what we’re building, and we know there’s still a lot of the game you haven’t had a chance to see. In Story Mode, every night brings a new movie, theme, and haunting to the store, with its own strange events and surprises. And in Archive Mode, no two shifts are quite the same, with different hauntings, encounters, and events waiting to be discovered across multiple runs. In other words, we’ve barely scratched the surface. That’s why we’re already looking ahead to Steam Next Fest in 2027, where we’re planning to release a brand-new and significantly expanded demo that provides a much better vertical slice of the full game, with loads more customer interactions as well as new hauntings and events. Our current plans include additional Story Mode content as well as your first chance to experience part of Archive Mode. We’ll have more details on exactly what will be included as we get closer to the event. There are still plenty of movies to rent, hauntings to survive, mysteries to uncover, and very strange things waiting inside Video Vault.Soon, we’ll be back with another update featuring some fun new details about the game and what we’ve been working on behind the scenes. For now, we’re heads-down building new content every day and making Victor’s Video Vault bigger, stranger, scarier, and better. Demo Available Now!

Hey Everyone! We're excited to announce that the Victor's Video Vault demo is available now! In the demo, you'll experience and survive one night from the main story (Day 3 - The Lagoon). Explore the video store, complete your nightly duties, meet a few of its strange visitors, and discover what happens after the last movie is rented. This demo is a small slice of the full experience, but it captures the atmosphere, mystery, and tension we're building for the complete game.Compatibility & AccessibilitySteam Deck is supportedUltra Wide is partially supported (while we have not played on ultra wide, we've run tests in editor under the widely accepted aspect ratios). The game is not designed for ultra wide, but it should be playable. Let us know if you try it.Input can be custom bound to your liking for both keyboard and controller (Journal and Pager inputs are only used in the full game, not the demo).Steam Input is not supported. We recommend using the input bindings within the game's settings menu instead of trying to configure through Steam Input. While Steam Input may work, it is not recommended as we don't officially support it.We have settings to disable flashing lights, among other accessibility optionsFeedbackIf you have bugs to report from the demo, please report them. We'll do our best to fix them asap.If you have suggestions of any type, please feel free to share them. We're always happy to listen and find ways to improve the gameDemo UpdatesWe do not plan to update this demo with new content, only fixes/changes that improve upon what is already hereSometime in 2027 we are planning to release a new demo for Steam Next Fest, which will contain the existing content as well as access to Archive Mode, the game's secondary game mode. Like story mode, the archive mode content will be limited, but you'll get to try more of the game and see what else we have in store.Looking AheadMoving forward we plan to provide monthly updates on game progress, showing what we've b...
