H.A.R.V.E.S.T.E.R is a dystopian asteroid mining simulator where you follow the plot of a "H.A.R.V.E.S.T.E.R" pilot in a seemingly insane society. Everything that could have gone wrong has already gone wrong many centuries ago. It's now your job to survive this mess.

About this game

Attention Shergeo Family,

H.A.R.V.E.S.T.E.R is a simcade about the things you may already be all too familiar with: Working for a boss who wants to kill you as you work in an environment that's constantly trying to kill you, meanwhile, security contractors are constantly trying to kill you. It's a hard job, but everyone wants to do it, and you were one of the lucky few who got promoted into the H.A.R.V.E.S.T.E.R program.

Your training was more or less your supervisor trying to kill you. If you don’t want to suffocate to death, you'll need to study the in-game handbook and learn the ins and outs of your spaceship. Every gap in your knowledge means a hard death later on.

It's not all too bad, though. You still have a lot of autonomy and can make many decisions as you mine. For example, which laser intensities should you be using? Which route optimizes quota completion with minimal fusion-cell cost? Which ore are you mining for? Should you scan for unnecessary rare minerals or speed through your quota? Do you run away or fight your way out once danger rears its ugly head?

Every second, you are making a risk assessment and making micro-decisions. Each wrong decision can snowball into your untimely death. Mining has never been easier! Thank you for your attention, and have a great day.

Note from the developers: This game is set to be a multi-hour, story-rich campaign. We don't want to give too many details away, but if you enjoy what you've seen so far, it will only get better from here. Wishlist now and stay tuned!

Monitor Overhaul + Better Audio + Optimizations

Attention Shergeo Family! This new update brings many new changes to the game job, the most notable being a major change to your ship's monitor. Previously, we had a clean holographic display that was conveniently placed near the left console, completely unintrusive to the pilot's view, which was quick and easy to navigate. So we deleted it and replaced it with a clunky and enormous physical screen attached to a collapsible arm that swings right in front of your face and covers everything in front of you. This monitor also introduces new sound effects and new animations to signify that this is indeed an upgrade, despite what some may say. Now you will have to choose between having critical information from your monitor and critical information about what's going on in the real world. We know you will love it. Besides the new monitor, we've introduced several fixes, including: - No more ghost inputs with the monitor - Monitor inputs not registering when the ship is in motion - MASSIVE lag spike after warp ends (there's still a lag spike, but it's not as bad) - Motion blur and depth of field existing - Dogfight music ending when it wasn't supposed to - Voice lines not lining up with captions after a lag spike - And more! We've also introduced a slight graphical improvement with the waypoint marker. It's no longer a flat circle rendered on the UI layer. It's a glowing blue orb with bloom now. We've also introduced an FPS limiter at the request of one of our contractors. On the topic of FPS, we've introduced improvements that we've found can boost the FPS by up to 800%. Do not worry, though, graphical fidelity had stayed almost exactly the same. With the exclusion of the tunnel you start in in the Unpaid Job Orientation Experience, which had an obvious drop in quality. But that was not for frames, that was because it looked ugly either way, and the new one is just less bright on the eyes. We also re-recorded the majority of in-game voice lines and adjusted the volume le...

    Upcoming Changes

Attention Shergeo Family, Prior to releasing this game's demo on Steam, we had spent several months redoing much of the in-game UI and spreading that workload across several updates. We're now overhauling one of the most important ones by redoing the monitor, so that it's no longer a slightly transparent 2D Unity panel in world space. The new monitor is a CRT-styled one (Inspired by the game's existing themes, not like those uninspired other CRT-styled monitors in awful indie games), with a retractable arm so it can extend and retract in and out of the player's view. An over-engineered mess which is much less convenient than the old one. We believe you'll enjoy it very much. We're fixing a lot of the audio clipping in the tutorial and the 1st day so that we stop hurting people's eardrums (an embarrassingly common complaint). We've begun to replace all of the dialogue in this game with normalized versions so that they're less unpleasant to listen to. This update has been taking a while due to the sheer amount of tedious work and playtesting/bugfixes that need to be done regarding implementing everything, but it WILL be done, mark my words. We just wanted to make it clear we're still busy. Thank you for your effort, and have a great day.
