About this game
From Grape to Glass, Every Choice Matters
In Grand Cru, every decision you make — from the vineyard to the wine glass — shapes your wine's final score.

🌍 Terroir — Soil type, climate, and vine age determine your grape's potential before you touch a single cluster.

🪵 Oak Barrels — French, Hungarian, or American oak — each variety, freshness level, and grape tolerance shifts the flavor profile. Pick wrong and you'll flatten the fruit.

⭐ Four Pillars of Quality — Your wine is scored on Structure, Authenticity, Finish, and Complexity — just like real wine critics evaluate Bordeaux.

📊 Critics vs. Public — Critics reward complexity and structure. The public wants fruit and approachability. The same wine can score 90 with one and 65 with the other. Know your market.
Create your own wine style. Your vineyard, your rules.

v1.2.0 — Le Classement: The Bordeaux Ranks
Grand Cru: The Wine Maker — v1.2.0 Update Hello, winemakers! Bordeaux had a classification long before you arrived. Time to get your name on it. Le Classement — the Bordeaux ranks (first release) A committee convenes every three winters — in years 3, 6, 9 and so on, it grades each of your brands on the wines bottled under that name over the past three years. Ranks never move between judgments. Four ranks — from Cru Bourgeois through Cru Classé and Premier Cru up to Grand Cru. Red or white, every wine competes on the same board, on score alone. The NPC estates are judged too — nine houses already hold their places when you start. Pulling Clos Valois off the top is your job. Existing saves join immediately — if you have three years of bottling history, loading your save runs the judgment you missed. No waiting: your place on the board is there. Unnamed wine is never judged — at bottling you can now ship without a name (bulk). The committee only reads wines that carry one. A new tab on the rankings screen — see the full board, the next judgment date, and reread the committee's letter of requirements any time. The judgment ceremony (the unsealing, the roll call, the crest) and rank effects on prices arrive in the next update. Ranks earned now carry over. Fixed Chef contracts vanishing at the upgrade offer — accepting or declining the long-term offer silently killed the contract, and the chef never returned. Affected saves are rescued: if the offer window reappears, accepting it now restores the long-term contract, and lost chefs visit again. World rankings frozen at one value — the server's anti-abuse check was blocking honest growth. Fixed server-side already; your board catches up on your next winter report, no update needed. No more random events in your first spring — the opening screen stays focused on your vineyard. Events start in summer. Happy winemaking. The committee reads nothing but the dossier — make a wine worth putting your name on. — hAi CorpRead full article on Community Announcements (hAi Corp)AnnouncementsOfficial
v1.1.0 — Steam Leaderboards
Grand Cru: The Wine Maker — v1.1.0 Update Bonjour, winemakers! Your winery now has somewhere to stand next to everyone else's. Steam Leaderboards Two global boards — Total Revenue (what your winery earned) and Most Expensive Wine (the highest price a single bottle of yours ever sold for). Both show your winery name next to your Steam name, and the top wine board names the bottle. Scores are what the market actually paid — not your list price, not the estimate at bottling. Only closed sales count. Ranks count from a new game — a save started before this update keeps playing exactly as it did, but it will not post scores. Start a new winery to compete. Your father's wine never counts — selling his bottles is not your work. That rule has always held for reputation and awards, and it holds here. Scores post once a year, at the end of winter, for your first 20 years. How the board stays honest Only our server can write to the boards — the game itself cannot post a score, and neither can a tool pretending to be the game. Every entry goes through Steam authentication first, so a score is tied to a real account that owns the game. New saves are sealed — save files from a new game are encrypted. Editing one in a text editor no longer works; the game refuses to load a modified file. Old saves stay readable exactly as before. A cleaner sidebar Rankings moved into one place — local rankings and the two world boards are now three tabs on one screen. Real estate is now a tab under Finance — same screen, same map, one less rail slot. The dashboard and vineyard shortcuts still take you straight there. Settings moved to the gear in the top bar. The rail went from 13 items to 9. Nothing was removed from the game. Quality of life The wine magazine no longer costs an action point — reading the market should not cost you a season's work. Bulk clearance can be used more than once per season, with select-all by condition and sorting. A badge tells you when a wine is ready to bottle. v1.0.2 — The Broker Now Sells Your Whole Cellar
Grand Cru: The Wine Maker — v1.0.2 Update Bonjour, winemakers! Everything in this patch came from players telling me what was wrong. Three separate people reported the same broker bug within two days. Bug Fixes The broker only sold the first wine on your list — Each buyer took one wine, and the code always started from the top of your cellar. If you had 40 different wines, the other 39 never got touched. Buyers now work through your cellar from different starting points, and each one keeps buying until their budget or their capacity runs out. "Harvest all" stopped without saying why — It was already stopping at whatever your action points and cash could cover, but the button only showed a smaller number. You saw 20 out of 70 and no reason. It now tells you which limit is active, and when cash is what stops you, it offers machine harvest instead. UI Your tasting room income is now visible — Visitors have always bought bottles on site and that money was always real. The season report was folding it in with your other direct sales, so you never saw it. It has its own card now, with how many bottles went out and which wine moved most. The blend panel shows what it actually uses — How many bottles go into the blend and how many stay in your cellar. Localization Fixed "Chteau" appearing instead of "Château" in five places in the English text. Technical Save compatible. Existing saves load as they are and everything here applies immediately. Keep the reports coming. They are working.Read full article on Community Announcements (hAi Corp)AnnouncementsOfficial
v1.0.1 — Blending Fix: Merlot-Led 60:40 Now Works
Grand Cru: The Wine Maker — v1.0.1 Hotfix Bonjour, winemakers! Two of you reported the same thing within a day of launch, and you were both right. Blending was broken in a way that quietly blocked the heart of the 1.0 story. Here is the fix. Bug Fixes Blending forced the entire primary lot — A blend always poured in every bottle of the primary wine and only trimmed the partner. That meant a 60:40 blend needed a partner lot two thirds the size of your primary one. If you had grown a lot of Merlot, Merlot-led 60:40 became mathematically impossible, and Father's recipe (Pomerol Merlot 60, Cabernet Sauvignon 40) could not be recreated at all. Blending now uses only the bottles the ratio actually calls for. Leftover wine stays in your cellar — Bottles the blend does not use remain in the cask, aging as before, ready to bottle on their own. The blend panel now shows exactly how many bottles go in and how many stay behind. Silent blend failures — When a blend was refused, nothing happened at all and you were dropped back to single bottling with no explanation. Every refusal now tells you why: not enough action points, mismatched vintages, a lot that cannot be used, or a partner lot too small for the ratio. Crash when opening Real Estate — Some saves crashed the game outright when entering the Real Estate screen. Fixed. Saves that refused to load — A damaged section in an older save could make loading fail without any message. Those saves now load and repair themselves. Technical Save compatible. Existing saves load as they are, and any cellar you already have works with the corrected blending immediately. If you were stuck on Father's wine, load your save and try the blend again. It should work now. Thank you for reporting these so quickly. Keep the bug reports coming.Read full article on Community Announcements (hAi Corp)AnnouncementsOfficial
Grand Cru v1.0 — Full Release: The Vintage Comes Home
Grand Cru: The Wine Maker v1.0 — Full Release Bonjour, winemakers! Today, Grand Cru leaves Early Access. This is the story we set out to finish: inherit a struggling vineyard, survive the debt your father left behind, understand the wine he could never forget, and decide what his legacy becomes in your hands. v1.0 brings that journey to its conclusion. The Father's Legacy — Complete A Four-Year Promise — The debt is now a clear, persistent goal that follows your winery from its first winter to the day you finally close the ledger. The Father's Notebook — Taste, investigate, and piece together handwritten clues instead of following a simple quest marker. Recreate His Wine — Track down the right land, variety, process, and quality. Near misses become clues; a true recreation changes the story. Le Clos — Trace a forgotten deed, acquire the lost vineyard, restore it in three stages, and open the hall that completes the family arc. A Real Finale — Bespoke story art, new music, a closing scene, full ending credits, and achievements now give the journey a proper last page. A Vineyard That Speaks Back Market Voices — Regulars at the market now trade contextual rumors about weather, buyers, auctions, and your growing reputation. The Harvest Gamble — Timing, rot, frost, hail, crop insurance, and scarcity pricing turn harvest into a readable risk rather than a hidden roll. Clearer Decisions — Rebuilt event presentation, visible cause-and-effect, stronger goal reminders, and a redesigned library make the long game easier to read. Eight New Achievements — The completed story arc now has milestones from the first promise to the final credits, with spoilers kept hidden. Quality of Life The Market Page — The Gazette now runs a market section with quarterly sales trends and a price-per-bottle ranking, so you can see where your wine stands. Consign to a Broker — Hand your market buyers to a broker and settle them in a single action instead of one at a time (Commerce Lv3, 1 AP). Safer...Read full article on Community Announcements (hAi Corp)
