I need you to play this unbelievably tense 2 hour horror about descending into hell with a grappling hook
Idols of Ash looks like another of the droves of low-poly first-person horror games oozing from the 21st century collective consciousness, but it's actually more of a climbing game. Hey folks! We've released an update for Idols of Ash today that adds some features aimed at speedrunners and some other small changes! Also, you can check out a new video we've just published that goes over how we designed the centipede's pathfinding system: Speedrun Mode - Adds an on-screen timer that tracks the time in each run - The game can now track your best times and display them in the main menu - While speedrun mode is enabled, the game will always start at the same position (no alternate starting positions after a death)Additions - New option for a Speedrun Mode added to the settings menuChanges - Sandbox Mode is now available without needing to complete Normal Mode - The sandbox settings are now displayed on-screen at the end of each run - The respawn time after a player death is a little faster Thanks for your time! Version 1.32
Hello!Small update today to try to resolve a few issues reported by the community. Thanks so much for the reports and feedback!Fixes - Added an additional protection against the game getting soft locked during the ending crawling scene if a centipede is able to reach the player - Fixed a scripting error in the last player controlled scene of the Campaign that could occur when additional centipedes were added via Sandbox mode - In some situations, unused but plugged in devices like controllers, flight sticks, etc would cause cutscenes always skip as soon as possible. We've tweaked it to only skip when one of the primary inputs is used to avoid this issue (throwing the hook, jumping and pausing inputs can trigger the skip)Changes - Added additional additional resolution options that can be used when the game is in windowed mode (adds ultra-wide and 16:10 aspect ratio options)Thanks for your time and thanks again for all of your support and feedback!Best, The Leafy Games TeamRead full article on Community Announcements (leafygamesdev)Patch NotesOfficial
Version 1.31
Hello! We're releasing a small hotfix today to address two issues reported by the community. Changes - The game in fullscreen mode should now scale to aspect ratios taller than 16:9 (for example 16:10 displays) Fixes - Fixed issue that could cause the centipede to reach the very bottom of the Campaign map and cause a soft lock scenario in some situations Thanks for your time!
