About this game

Primordio is a game about chain lightning,

Built for the person who wants the chaos of a swarm without the reflex check that usually comes with it.

Primordio drops you into a swarm as a drifting wisp instead of a ship you steer with a stick. Drag it where you want to go. Chain lightning does the rest, arcing from enemy to enemy on its own. Early runs are simple. Stick with it. The meta-progression starts stacking, and that's where the game actually opens up. Builds get stranger. Swarms get denser. Then the moment you've been quietly working toward finally lands: you stand still while lightning tears a whole screen apart.

It takes a little while to get there. That's by design, and it's worth the runs it takes to arrive.

You are a wisp of creation in a futile struggle against life itself.

Chain Lightning That Finds Its Own Targets

  • Drag your wisp through the swarm. The lightning arcs between enemies on its own, no aiming required

  • Late-game builds turn this into a screen-clearing chain that keeps finding the next target and the next

  • The payoff is standing still and watching a whole wave come apart in one arc

A Slower Burn Than This Genre Usually Allows

  • No twitch reflexes required. Movement is drag-and-drop, not a dodge-everything gauntlet

  • The first stretch plays straightforward while your meta-progression builds up underneath it

  • Stick with it past the early runs and the real power curve opens up fast

Deep, Layered Metaprogression Worth Digging Into

  • Every run banks progress toward permanent upgrades, even the ones that end early

  • Builds branch enough that two runs rarely play the same way once the tree opens up

Season One: New Effects, New Leaderboards, New Reasons to Come Back

  • Chain lightning now shrinks, breaks apart, and flickers out instead of just fading. Thickness scales to how many chains are left

  • Fresh leaderboards give returning players and new runs alike something to climb toward

  • A growing in-game compendium fills in the systems you're curious about, at your own pace

Discover the secrets of Primordio.

    Season One Launch

My dear friends and distinguished guests, We first opened our doors almost three months ago. Today, the Primordio opens anew. Life advances, the spark of creation must adapt. Welcome to Season One. Season One is not a list of toys. It is a new rhythm for how a life is spent, remembered, and begun again. You will still run. You will still die. You will still carry what the void allows. What changes is what endures -- and what you are willing to burn to make it so. Distillation Essence remains the currency of a single life. Qualia is what you keep when you choose to begin again. At the Distillery, you may distill what you have earned into permanent Qualia. The board resets. The inscriptions fall quiet. Masteries, cosmetics, discoveries, and the Qualia itself remain. Qualia multiplies essence gain for as long as you play. Early Qualia matter most. Later Qualia buy standing — Season rank — and the right to claim what the Distillation Track offers. Twelve ranks. A long climb. A final threshold for those who refuse to stop. Vitae Vitae is rarer than essence and more expensive than pride. Mint it by sacrificing essence at the pyre or carry it out of certain trials and escape with it intact. Spend it on the Distillation Track and on masteries that survive distillation. Every mote of vitae is precious, use sparingly. The Track itself is a claim of identity: how your spark strikes, how your cursor reads the dark, how your wisp appears, how the eye of the void is lit. Claim what your Season rank allows. Seats of Power Deep in a run, a Seat may wake. This is a mid-life trial. Clear it. Face its guardian. Claim what it offers, weary to accept the bargains. Seats may yield tokens of the runes you carry. Escape with them. Use them in conjunction with Vitae to achieve persistent masteries. Thank you to all who've been with me on this journey. I dedicate this Season One launch to all who've come before, on the shoulders of giants, I stand.

    Season One Launching August 17th!

Hey everyone,Primordio's been out for a couple of months now, and we wanted to stop in and say thanks. Readingthrough the comments and reviews has genuinely been good, especially the feedback on how the earlyruns feel. We've got a small ask. If you've been enjoying the game, a Steam review makes a bigger difference thanmost people realize, it's the main way new players ever find out the game exists. We're still early in terms ofvisibility, so every one helps.A sentence or two is plenty. It doesn't need to be a full writeup. And yes, there's a Season One update coming with new effects and leaderboards. More details soon. Thanks for being here.Philocypher
