About this game
MORKO is a realistic sci-fi command simulation where you captain your warship and lead a mercenary company through a dangerous and persistent world. Fly solo or with friends in a dynamic sandbox campaign.
THE SHIP
Build your ship from the ground up. Customize weapons, modules and manage your crew to suit your playstyle. Evolve your ship for the tactics you enjoy. Experiment and create builds.
Long range rail guns for precision strikes.
Missile racks to overwhelm the enemy defenses with devastating salvos.
Close-in weapon systems to shred enemy vessels and missiles apart.
Play as a silent hunter that stalks the battlefield, a carrier commanding flight squadrons or as a battleship to take a more direct approach to charge combat head on.
THE COMBAT
Every vessel has a unique dynamic flight model with multiple thrusters. Mass, engines and loadout affects flight characteristics. Command your ship in real time through a virtual pilot and crew interpreting your orders. Locational damage and module based simulations are the core part of combat. Stealth and detection plays a big role - knowledge is power.
Plan maneuvers to flank.
Target sensors to blind enemies.
Target engines for easier follow up strikes.
Use environment and decoys to avoid detection
But be careful, the playing field is level, what works for you will work for AI and other players. With a shared equipment pool and balanced modules tactics will be the determining factor in combat.
THE WORLD

Morko Developer Blog #1
Morko is coming. This is our first devblog about our long-term project, Morko, and we're very excited to share some details about it.So for today, we want to share on how a typical combat engagement would start in our game:Sensor suites play a major role in our game, so in the first phase you would typically play a game of cat and mouse with an enemy ship. The radar-cross section (RCS) values of your ship, enemy's, as well as the radar capability of both, will determine who sees whom first. This will lead to a decision-making phase. For instance, if the enemy sees you first and determines that you are not much of a threat, they might fire a measured volley of anti-ship missiles at you. Depending on their arsenal, they might fire a single expensive and stealthy hypersonic cruise missile or a salvo of low-speed but cheaper missiles. Now it would be up to your sensor suite to detect whether you have been fired at or not and with what.As this example shows, combat can be quite complex, with different layers of timed decision-making for both the player and the enemy ship. Your decisions before and during an engagement will determine the outcome: Who detects whom first.Whether you(or the enemy) know you have been detected. What type of immediate action you take.Which tactic you employ. As you can see, you and the game world will be answering these questions all the time. This is it for our first devblog. Make sure to follow us on Steam for more updates in the future.Read full article on Community Announcements (KaanTech)
