About this game
Skill growth shifts your strategy. A 2.5D Action RPG focused on deep character building.
Reficia is a 2.5D action RPG that merges deep, individual skill progression with the high-stakes tension of a run-based challenge. Forget traditional character levels. In this world, your power is defined by the specific weapons, magic, and abilities you actually use.
■ Pure Skill-Based Progression: Grow by Doing
In Reficia, there is no overall "character level." Instead, your growth is driven by the mastery of individual skills.
Diverse Skill Sets: From weapons like swords and spears to elemental and restoration magic—even core stats like Strength and Vitality—every action you take earns experience for that specific skill.
Meaningful Choices: With a cap on your total skill points, you must decide whether to become a versatile jack-of-all-trades or a specialized master of one. How you allocate your limited resources is the key to conquering the trials ahead.
■ "One-of-a-Kind" Strategy via Random Drops
Unpredictable loot drops will shift your strategy on the fly. When you find powerful equipment, you must decide in an instant which skills to hone to match your new gear. Discover lethal synergies between your evolving skills and random drops to forge a truly unique build for every run.
■ A Three-Day Journey Toward the Final Battle
Your journey is a race against time, spanning just three days. During the day, you can explore relentlessly, even if you fall in battle. However, if you are defeated by the boss waiting at the end of the day, your journey ends there. Sharpen your skills without fear of failure, experiment with unknown drops, and face the destiny that awaits at the end of the third day.
Experience the tactical depth of free-form skill progression, the thrill of random drops, and the tension of a reset-based challenge. Discover your own unique path in this character-building focused Action RPG.

[Devlog #5] Equipment Screen Reveal & How It Works
Hi everyone! this is Rurukel, the developer of Reficia.Welcome to my 5th monthly development progress update!Today, I’m excited to show you the newly polished and fully integrated Equipment Screen! Just like last time, our blacksmith Dwarf-chan made another showcase video for us. Be sure to check out the video first!🗡️ Equipment System OverviewIn Reficia, equipment slots are divided into four main categories:Main: Your primary hand slot. Used for normal attacks and abilities.OffHand: Your off-hand slot. Used for normal attacks and abilities.Sub Gear: A dedicated slot used strictly for abilities.Armor: Slots for your defensive items.💡 Key Features for Weapon Slots1. Dual WieldingEquipping one-handed weapons in both Main and OffHand slots changes your normal attack into a dual-wielding animation! This speeds up your attacks, making it perfect for critical-hit focused builds.2. Defense with ShieldsYou can equip shields in either OffHand or Sub Gear slots. Shield skills offer many durability-boosting abilities, proving invaluable against tough boss fights and mob farming.3. Combining 2H Weapons & MagicItems in the Sub Gear slot can be activated via abilities. This allows for unique playstyles, such as wielding a 2H sword for physical attacks in your Main slot, while keeping a staff in Sub Gear for magic!🛡️ Armor Combinations & CustomizationYou can equip up to 4 items in the Armor slots.Armor comes in 5 types: Head, Body, Hands, Legs, and Accessories. Except for Accessories, you cannot equip multiple items of the same type.Head / Body / Hands / Legs: Significantly boosts your Defense!Accessories: Greatly boosts your base stats!Deciding how to balance defense and raw stats within your 4 slots is key to building a strong character.📜 Equipment & Skill RequirementsIn Reficia, every item requires a specific skill level to equip.Powerful gear demands higher skills, so raising and growing your individual skills will be essential for progression!📝 What’s Next?I hope you enjoy Dwa...Read full article on Community Announcements (ルルケル)AnnouncementsOfficial
[Devlog #4] Dwarf-chan Showcase! Shop Improvements & Drop Effect Polish
Hi everyone! this is Rurukel, the developer of Reficia.Welcome to my 4th monthly development progress update! As mentioned in Devlog #3, my current goal is to refine Area 1 into a fully playable state. This month, to make the gameplay feel even more rewarding and responsive, I focused on polishing the Shop UI—the very first interface players interact with—and enhancing the Item Drop effects!🏬 Shop UI ImprovementsIn Reficia, where building unique character builds is a core element, the Shop plays a crucial role. It’s where you turn unused loot into gold to buy equipment that fits your build. To make interacting with the Shop genuinely fun and engaging, we added various new animations and sound effects!Along with these improvements, I’ve created a showcase video where the storekeeper, Dwarf-chan, introduces the Shop UI. Cute, reliable, and completely outspoken, Dwarf-chan gives us a tour with her unfiltered commentary! Be sure to check out the video!💰 Enhancing Item Drop EffectsIn Reficia, you'll fight your way through enemies using items dropped in various rarities. To make looting feel even more exciting, we’ve added unique sound effects and updated the particle colors for each rarity level!Actually, item drop sound effects have been something I've wanted to obsess over since I first started game development. I still vividly remember playing an old MMO called "Seal Online," where I would grind endlessly just to hear that specific, satisfying item drop sound. While Reficia isn't a game where you grind for hours on end, I really wanted to deliver that same pure rush of joy when a rare item drops!📝 What’s Next?In my next progress report, I plan to show off the polished Equipment and Ability screens, which are just as central to the game as the Shop. I'm going all out to make these screens clear, intuitive, and satisfying to use!I am moving forward step-by-step toward completion. It would be incredibly encouraging if you could add the game to your Wishlist and keep an ey...Read full article on Community Announcements (ルルケル)Patch NotesOfficial

[Devlog #3] Stage 1 Adjustment Progress & Target System Requirements
Hi everyone, this is Rurukel, the developer of Reficia. Welcome to my third monthly development progress update!Currently, I am working on implementing missing features and adjusting parameters so that Stage 1 can be played through from start to finish. While the ultimate goal of this game is to let you enjoy a wide variety of unique builds, I am currently testing the balance using the most straightforward one: the "Basic Attack Build." As a big fan of Ragnarok Online, the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "basic attacks" is a dual-wielding Rogue! So, I’ve created and am currently testing new dual-dagger combat animations. My goal is to finish adjustments by next month so that players can complete Stage 1 using this Basic Attack Build.🧭 Death Respawn & "Recall" Function ImplementedAs part of adding missing core features, I have implemented the respawn mechanic upon death, as well as a "Recall" system that allows players to return to the base at any time.In Reficia, enemies will become stronger the deeper you venture into a stage, but they will also yield better skill progression and gold. I want players to experience a MOBA-like risk-versus-reward tension, making decisions like: "My items are running low, so I should probably head back... but if I push just a bit further, I’ll be able to equip that new weapon!"I am still considering how to handle the death penalty. Should it reduce Skill XP like in classic MMORPGs, or increase the respawn timer like in MOBAs? It also feels like having no penalty at all might better suit modern gaming trends. I plan to make a final decision on this as I progress with playtesting.Additionally, separate from the one-way "Recall" function, I plan to introduce a portal-like ability under the "Rune Magic" skill that allows two-way travel between the base and your previous location. The "Rune Magic" skill will have many unique, support-oriented abilities, which I believe will significantly expand the variety of character builds!...Read full article on Community Announcements (ルルケル)AnnouncementsOfficial
[Devlog #2] Boss Battle Revealed! Featuring My First Original Track
Hi everyone, I’m Rurukel, the developer of this project.Thank you all so much for the warm response to my store page launch! For my second update, I’m excited to finally share some actual combat footage. Please take a look at my very first boss encounter, accompanied by a brand-new, original music track! The footage I've shared today is a 20-second clip showing the boss's entrance and the opening moments of the battle. While the "Spear Skill" is currently the only one implemented, I plan to add a wide variety of skills leading up to the release. You’ll be able to mix and match these skills to create your own unique playstyle. The full boss fight is designed with two distinct phases. In the second half, the boss’s attacks will become much more intense and aggressive! I hope you enjoy the tension of the battle along with the new BGM.■ Current Development StatusNow that the first boss battle is taking shape, I’m shifting my focus to making Stage 1 fully playable from start to finish. I expect this process to take about two months. It’s a significant task, but I’m giving it my all to ensure you get a solid taste of the core Reficia experience!■ Upcoming UpdatesI plan to post progress reports here on the Community Hub once a month. In next month’s update, I hope to give you a "sneak peek" at my progress on Stage 1 and some of the new elements I’m adding.I’m taking it one step at a time, but the game is steadily coming together. It would mean the world to me if you could add the game to your Wishlist and follow my journey!Stay tuned for the next update!Read full article on Community Announcements (ルルケル)
