About this game
[BEFORE YOU BUY]: Hey! I want to make it super clear that this game is essentially Early Access (even though I labeled it incorrectly). I am working on it and updating it constantly. I'm very active in the official Discord and there is a free demo on the official website that you can check out ahead of time (link in the right column)!
ALSO: Although the game launched with AI placeholder art, I have been actively replacing that art with handcrafted art (115 items so far replaced) -- so you will see that change over time. Furthermore, I use Claude Code to scale my development work. To be clear, all game design, ideas, universe building, storylines, and all things creative come from me, but things like bug fixes, modularization, i18n localization, I use Claude to help with those tasks. I am unable to update the AI disclosure on Steam, so I wanted to make sure you saw this before purchase, just in case you are not comfortable with these tools.
LANGUAGES: This game is actively being translated by Claude into 15+ languages -- and while Claude is pretty good, there will be mistakes. If you see mistakes and would like to report them, please do so on the official Discord.
Thanks for checking the game out!
Build a guild. Recruit from 41 classes of adventurers. Send them into a 100-floor tower where death is permanent and your best warrior might not come back.
Every adventurer is procedurally generated with their own zodiac sun and moon signs, personality, stats, ambitions -- and flaws. An Aries berserker won't take orders the same way a Virgo tactician will. A Capricorn won't appreciate the Gemini kleptomaniac skimming off the top after every quest. Your job is to recruit them, train them, pay them, and try not to get too attached.
THE TOWER AWAITS
A massive buried tower has awoken beneath the frontier town of Hiltcrest, spewing monsters across the land. The Crown has authorized independent adventurer guilds to fight back. You are one of many Guild Masters who answered the call -- and most of them won't make it.
RECRUIT & DEVELOP

Scout and sign adventurers across 41 unique classes, each with distinct stats and zodiac-driven personalities
Train your heroes in combat, unlock traits through milestones, and watch raw recruits become legends (and eventually retire)
Manage contracts, wages, chemistry and morale -- push them too hard and they'll walk; coddle them and they'll never survive the tower; put them with the wrong party and things could get interesting
Guide your guild across generations as veterans retire and new blood takes their place
BUILD YOUR GUILD ACROSS GENERATIONS

Construct guild facilities: barracks, armory, infirmary, training grounds, and more
Hire specialized staff: scouts to find talent, astrologers to read the stars, craftsmen to forge gear
Climb the guild tier system from scrappy upstart to renowned institution
Compete in annual rankings against 30 rival guilds -- or trade and negotiate with them -- each with their own personality, agenda, and desire to take down the Tower
CONQUER THE TOWER

Deploy parties on quests ranging from simple bounties to full-scale raids
Descend 100 floors of increasingly deadly challenges, each with unique threats
Face powerful bosses and ultimately confront the mysterious final power
When adventurers fall, the Guild must be rebuilt
A LIVING SIMULATION

Hundreds of interacting systems: economy, reputation, weather, guild politics, adventurer relationships
Procedurally generated adventurers ensure no two playthroughs build the same guild
30 rival guilds with their own ambitions, rosters, and diplomatic stances
Your decisions ripple — a bad call on floor 47 can reshape your guild for years

Live Patch: World Events Are Here (v2.0.0-beta.4182)
Each week seems to be coming with new and exciting features that have been a long-time coming, this week's is World Events. I am trying to be smart about this particular rollout because the World Events system touches almost everything in the game. In turn, I'm releasing chunks bit-by-bit. Today, the system now exists in game with only three possible World Events (each very simple) and over the coming weeks, I will sneak a few new ones in with each patch escalating to the bigger pieces of content that are essentially novellas. This is a much longer term schedule, but there will definitely be some tweaking involved as the stories and events get bigger and more impactful. Also! I am on the hunt for QA tester for the iPad version! If you're interested let me know in the comments or join the Discord and tag me (https://discord.gg/uWMVBgmHJ)Let's get into the proper patch notes:━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ NEW & NOTABLE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ World EventsWorld Events are now live — a large, hand-authored story system with no procedural generation; every beat is written by hand. I'm launching a few to start and rolling out new ones each week, and they deepen over time into novella-sized journeys. The on/off switch lives with the Custom (Sandbox) options; non-Custom games always run with World Events on.Bosses & the TowerThe boss identity pass. Now that the Hex battle system is up and ripping, tower bosses are being rebuilt one at a time with unique skills and tactics — starting with the "decade bosses" on every tenth floor, and continuing chunk by chunk in the weeks ahead. This includes a pretty big rework to the Floor 100 boss this week. New boss mechanics land across the roster: the dragon's breath leaves its targets burning, the ancient golem's slam mires survivors, and the ancient horror's grasp withers healing. The flame elemental erupts in a room-wide flashover, the phoenix's fire feeds on already-burning targets, and two deeper tower/fiend bosses gain...Read full article on Community Announcements (Math Team)Patch NotesOfficial

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━BUG FIXES━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Combat & Watch boardHex Battles now work on multiplayer quest results, matching raids and single-player.A hero who falls to an off-battle mishap on a clean victory now gets a real death line in the log and a "SLAIN — fell at N HP lost" badge on the live Watch board, with a stated cause, instead of vanishing with no explanation.Guilds, trade & leaguesYour Guild Block per-guild filter — including "All Guilds" — now sticks across tab visits and reloads instead of snapping back to your top rival every time.In multiplayer, when a rival outbids you for a free agent, the recruit now leaves your pool immediately and the loss report says so — no more phantom re-bids that quietly fail.In leagues, the Academy enrollment claim now tells you what happened — "Academy Full," "Premium Unaffordable," or "Enrollment Claim Expired" — instead of doing nothing; Esc or clicking away cancels a claim without charging you.Season & standingsEnd-of-season division and Nemesis results are now decided on the season that just finished, not the new season's opening week. The guild that finishes first in its division is paid the champion reward (2,000g, 50 renown, and +50 standing with the division's patron faction) instead of second place's.Standings no longer drift after the Crown Cup — renown stops accruing once the Cup is decided, so the final table matches the one that set the bracket.Division brackets and mid-season wildcard opponents are now drawn from a stable seed, so reloading at the year boundary can't re-roll you into an easier group.Crafting & interfaceThe Experimental crafting technique no longer pushes the Quality Forecast past 100%; its quality shift now moves real probability mass and genuinely helps at high skill instead of overflowing the bar.The "Compare Staff" overlay no longer leaks an unscouted or expired-intel candidate's real stats — the column is fogged (silhouette, ??? tier / skill / potential), mat...Read full article on Community Announcements (Math Team)Patch NotesOfficial

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━FEATURES━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━World Events are now live. This is a very large system that touches everything and has a lot of infrastructure, so I am just launching a few simple World Events to start to ensure they hit. I'll then role out new Events each week over the next few months. Note: these get pretty deep and eventually evolve into Novella-sized journeys, so laying the groundwork safely is key. Extra sauce, no World Event is procedural. Each aspect is a story or moment I want to tell that adds up to special lore things, so it's all by hand without procedural help. NOTE: The World Events on/off setting now lives with the other Custom (Sandbox) options; games that aren't Custom always run with World Events on.Compare staff side by side: weigh a scouted candidate against your current same-role staff (or any two on your roster) in one overlay, from the hire screen or the staff panel. If this works and feels good, I'll add this for adventurers. Spar your own crews against each other in the Practice Sandbox — pick two of your parties and watch a full battle with a winner, remaining HP, and tiebreak. A spar ladder tracks each party's rating and record. Sparring is consequence-free: no XP, gold, injuries, or roster changes. The weekly sparring champion is now surfaced by name (honoring nicknames), so you can finally see who won in the pits.New Sage's Wisdom FAQ entry explains set-item bonuses (2/3/4-piece stacking, and that crafted sets are indestructible too).New explain-the-number tooltips across the game clarify what a value actually means — Fame, Underworld Heat, season Pace, per-week training injury risk, Weekly Net and treasury health, the rival-interest warning badge, trade value ratios, and more, each written to match the mechanic.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━BUG FIXES━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Combat & TowerRival Challenge and Proving Ladder results no longer show a winning HP line under a "Defeat" banner. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━FEATURES━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Now that the Hex Battle System is up and ripping, I am pushing to make Tower bosses a bit more moar. I'm going through all 100 and defining them uniquely with skills and tactics, which will take a hot minute and I'll be doing them chunk by chunk in the coming weeks. The first chunk is now up which are the "decade bosses" on every 10th floor. So, you'll see some fun stuff evolving there. The "clear 5 different quest categories" deed now shows a ✓/○ checklist of exactly which categories a hero has already cleared, the same way the quest-type and location deeds do.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━BALANCE━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Combat & InjuriesAfter a hard-won quest, raid, or tower fight, a hero who was driven deep into the red mid-battle can now come away wounded even if a healer topped them back up. It's a roll graded by how low they dropped: a dip below half health wounds them roughly half the time, a dip below 30% about two-thirds of the time, and a near-death dip below 15% almost always. The worse the dip, the longer the recovery — a near-death plunge costs more weeks than a moderate one. This also ends the old "injury drought" where a comfortable win on Normal difficulty produced no injuries at all.S-Tier adventurers now have a genuine stat spread — high focus stats and honestly lower off-stats — instead of reading near-max in every category. Lower and mid tiers are unchanged. With the optional Death Floor difficulty raised, the guaranteed-casualty floor is a true hard minimum again: a lopsided rout no longer softens it, and a floor-triggered death on a trivial rout no longer surfaces as a forced retirement. At default difficulty nothing changes.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━BUG FIXES━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Combat & CasualtiesHeroes who fall on a won-but-costly quest or tower fight now read as wounded casualties with a clear cause, instead of a hale hero being crossed out with...Read full article on Community Announcements (Math Team)Patch NotesOfficial
Friday Live Patch: v2.0.0-beta.4068
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━FEATURES━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━The Tower MusterI received a bunch of great feedback this week after the new Tower Loadout launched on Wednesday that folks missed being able to group by parties. So! I snuck that back in tied into the new system. The muster picker's roster column is now The Registry, split into Roster and Parties tabs. The Parties tab shows each party as a full quest-board-style card — effective strength, deploy status, member details — with an "Add party to the thirty" button in the expanded view, or drag the whole card onto the standing thirty."Call up the best parties" fills the thirty with whole parties, strongest first, and never splits one — odd seats stay open for hand-picks."Call up the best" now prefers heroes whose partymates are already mustered, so fewer parties are left short-handed and benched by the post-descent rest.A new footprint readout lists every party the descent draws from and flags partial draws that would idle the rest of that party for nothing.Tower ScoutingScouting now pays off in blood: on every tenth floor, a boss whose weak spot your intel has revealed — an expert scout of skill 80 or better, or a charted survey — takes 15% more damage, shown as a "Weak spot exposed · +15% damage" badge in the Known Boss Intel. The badge only appears in fights where the bonus actually applies.A deep survey now comes home with a personal field letter at the Front Desk, signed by the scout who wrote it — and field reports stay in your inbox as records instead of being archived when the floor changes hands.Orders, Training & AcademyCommander's Orders can be saved as templates: create, rename, assign to parties, and edit once to update every linked party. A template push never re-arms a party you switched off, and hand-editing a party's orders detaches it from the template.Auto-training is now configurable: set a max program length (1–8 weeks or Any) and intensity per adventurer, as a guild-wide defaul...Read full article on Community Announcements (Math Team)
