About this game

Step into the neon haze of justice. One Way Mirror: AI is a procedural detective experience set in a police precinct, where every case, suspect, and conversation is dynamically AI generated — and no two mysteries are ever the same.

You’re not following a script — you’re living the investigation. Talk freely with anyone you meet: the weary desk sergeant, the sharp-tongued partner, the nervous witnesses, or the suspects who think they can outsmart you. Every line of dialogue is powered by artificial intelligence, making each exchange unpredictable, human, and deeply personal.

Piece together clues, chase down leads, and confront the truth in a city that hides it well. Your intuition, your words, and your judgment are your only real weapons — and every wrong move could let the real criminal walk free.

Create your own detective and make them truly yours. Customize their appearance and shape the investigator you want to be. Inside the precinct, you’ll question suspects, examine testimonies, and follow every contradiction in search of the truth. Every interrogation could bring you closer to the killer — or lead you further away.

The truth is out there, somewhere between the smoke and the silence.
Can you find it?

Update 0.9.3 – Facial Expressions and Body Language

Hi detectives,Update 0.9.3 is now live. This update introduces a new facial animation and body language system, making interrogations and conversations with NPCs more expressive, immersive, and reactive.More Expressive SuspectsDuring interrogations, suspects now blink, breathe, shift their weight, move their heads, maintain or avoid eye contact, and animate their mouths naturally while speaking.Their faces also react to the conversation. Questions, hesitation, raised voices, surprise, and emphasis can produce subtle changes in their expressions and posture.Personality Through Body LanguageEach suspect’s personality influences how they behave.A nervous suspect may blink more frequently, breathe faster, move more, and struggle to maintain eye contact. A hostile suspect may lean forward and confront you directly, while an arrogant suspect may remain composed with their chin raised. Reserved, emotional, defensive, and cooperative personalities also have their own distinctive behaviors.Learning a suspect’s normal behavior can help you recognize when something begins to change.Pressure and ConfessionsAs the true culprit gets closer to confessing, their composure may gradually begin to break. The first signs are intentionally subtle, but increasing pressure can affect their breathing, blinking, gaze, expressions, and posture. When a confession finally happens, the suspect physically gives in, lowering their head and struggling to maintain eye contact afterward.Body language is an investigative clue, not automatic proof of guilt. Innocent suspects may also appear nervous, angry, or uncomfortable, so look for patterns and combine them with statements, alibis, contradictions, and physical evidence. The in-game guide has also been updated with more information about reading facial expressions and body language during interrogations.Additional Fixes and ImprovementsFixed a rare issue where an NPC standing still for a long time could slowly drift backward.Fixed an issue where, afte...

Update 0.9.2 – The Precinct Comes Alive

Hi detectives,A new update is now live. This update completely reworks how NPCs move and behave inside the precinct, making it feel much more alive, immersive, and dynamic.Daily Schedules and ActivitiesNPCs now follow daily schedules that change depending on their role and the time of day.Throughout the day, they can work at their desks, type on computers, get a drink, consult archives and case boards, sit or pace while waiting, patrol the precinct, visit the restroom, and take breaks.NPCs can also meet and socialize naturally. Two characters may leave what they are doing, walk to a meeting point, wait for each other, and have a short conversation before returning to their routines.More Natural AnimationsThe animation system has also been reworked to support these new behaviors.Characters now show more natural body language while standing, sitting, working, thinking, talking, or holding objects. They can type with keyboard sounds, drink from cups, handle folders, gesture during conversations, and occasionally sneeze.Sitting down, standing up, and moving between activities now feel smoother and more believable.Improved MovementNPC navigation is now more reliable and natural.Characters move purposefully between activities, use the different spaces of the precinct, and navigate naturally around the people they encounter along the way. This makes corridors, workstations, waiting areas, and spontaneous conversations feel much more dynamic.Final NotesThe precinct is no longer a static background for your investigations. As time passes, officers work, civilians wait, colleagues take breaks, conversations begin and end, and everyone continues with their own routine. The precinct now has its own rhythm, and it feels more alive than ever before. Thanks again for playing and for following the development.Pigi the Wizard and the Feral Yellow Sheep

Update 0.9.0 – The Hunt Begins

Hi detectives,Update 0.9.0 is now live. This is one of the biggest updates so far, introducing a new and much deeper threat to Greyford: serial killers. These are not just normal culprits with a different label. Serial killers are persistent individuals with their own identity, behavior, signature, victim pattern, personality, rhythm, and history. They can return across multiple cases, evolve over time, mislead the investigation, and leave a lasting mark on your detective’s career.Serial Killers AddedSerial killers can now appear during your investigations. At first, a murder may look like a normal case. Only when another crime shares the same pattern or signature does the police begin to understand that something bigger may be happening. Each serial killer has a recurring signature. This can involve the way they choose victims, the place or time they strike, the weapon they use, objects left at the scene, or other repeated details that connect the crimes. The challenge is no longer only to solve one murder. Sometimes, you will need to recognize the pattern behind several crimes before more people become victims.Persistent Killers with Unique PatternsEach serial killer is built as a persistent individual, not a random one-time suspect. They can have their own:MotivePsychological originPreferred victimsSignatureProfessionAppearanceBehavior during interrogationsWay of speakingLevel of self-controlEscalation patternThere are an enormous number of possible combinations behind this system, allowing each serial killer to feel different from the others. Some may target victims with a shared profession, age range, gender, workplace, surname initial, or other hidden connection. Others may deliberately include victims that seem not to fit the pattern, making the investigation more difficult.Identity, Deception, and InvestigationSome serial killers may use false identities. In these cases, they can appear under different names across different crimes, while still keeping deeper consis...

Update 0.8.1 – Better Cases, Smoother Investigations

Hi detectives,Update 0.8.1 is now live! This update focuses on the heart of the game: the cases themselves. We have improved how AI-written mysteries are generated, making cases more natural, more varied, and more reliable from start to finish.More Natural and Believable Case WritingCase generation has been improved to create better, more consistent, and more varied stories. The goal of this update is to make each investigation feel more believable and interesting, with fewer errors and a stronger sense of narrative coherence.Cases should now feel less repetitive, with better structure, more variety, and smoother writing across the different parts of the mystery.More Reliable and Faster Case GenerationSome players could run into cases that took a very long time to generate, or occasionally failed and had to retry. We investigated the root cause and improved how cases are built, so they should now generate more consistently and more quickly, with fewer interruptions along the way.We also streamlined the instructions used by the AI, helping cases stay coherent without adding unnecessary waiting time.Generation should now be more stable, especially on more modest hardware.Improved Press Conference AIThe AI used during press conferences has also been improved.Questions during press conferences should now be better, more relevant, and generated more quickly.Other Improvements and Fixes* Fixed an issue where, when peeking through the door, the player could see the suspect sitting without an animation.* Fixed an AI behavior that could sometimes add quotation marks during dialogues.* Fixed an issue where the AI could mention email attachments even when no attachments were present. Thanks again for playing and for following the development.Pigi the Wizard and the Feral Yellow Sheep
