    v1.035 Patch!

Whaddaya know! More bug fixes! This will likely be the last patch for now unless there are some HUGE issues that need to be addressed. Gotta focus my development time on making more of the game!Frequent alt-tabbing leading to crashes: This has been a running issue for a bit now that varies from machine to machine. If your game is crashing when you alt-tab too much, I would highly recommend going to the settings, looking for "Alt render method", and turning that on. That resolves the issue for some, for others it introduces issues, really just depends.Properly scaled visual effects: Majority of the visual effects sprites were placeholders that were haphazardly scaled up. I've finally gotten around to replacing em lol.Fullscreen pixel scaling issues: Running the game at fullscreen would often result in ugly "nearest neighbor" sub-pixel deformation on the screen, especially noticeable in areas where the camera zooms out like Chapter 7. I've made to the game display only scales to whole numbers, which should fix that. Huffhop (frog enemy) tweak: Huffhops no longer just pop when you hit them. Hitting them will push them in the direction you attack, allowing you to reposition them to reach optional areas more easily. Hitting them with guard-breaking attacks will still pop them (this is in order to make segments like the Bellowbite part not cluttered/awkward). Miscellaneous Shroom Hollow + Slime belly form fixes: Some broad-strokes changes for behavior for the Slime Belly form, making the double jump a little bit better, and making some aspects of teaching the form and navigating Shroom Hollow a little clearer for first-time players. I've also slightly improved performance in the area.Bellowbite mounting crash: Specifically timed button presses when mounting the bellowbite would cause the game to crash. This is because I did not declare the player object's "mount command" variable, I got away with it thanks to GameMaker's fisherprice babies first programming language LOL. ...

    v1.03 Patch!

Hello again! Here's a couple more patches of some other issues that were mentioned in feedback.Video playback/Opening cinematic crash: Some users have reported their game crashing when starting up a new game and trying to load the opening cinematic. Apparently this is a rare obscure issue that a small few get with GameMaker's video playback feature (I saw reports of this for Deltarune Chapter 3 as well). I'm considering not using this feature in the full game if the issue persists without a fix in the coming years, but for now if the demo crashes while trying to play the opening cinematic, it'll give you the option to disable video playback the next time you boot the game up.Date-time parsing fix attempt #2: Some users would experience issues with their game crashing when trying to load due to a mismatch on the data given from their computer clock. Previously I thought a safety net I added would fix this but unfortunately those users reported still experiencing the crash. I'm more confident this fix will prevent that from happening.Incorrect tooltip instructions: After changing out default key assignments for actions, I also changed what keys were used in places like the Recollectory for returning to the World Map and for pausing. Those tool tips should now properly reflect the buttons those actions are assigned to. Bigtop Battlers Crash: Some users reported being able to complete the "force kill" foe on wave 62 of Bigtop Battlers, causing the game to crash. This should be fixed now. Froblin Bellagarth Doodad: Upgrading the speed on the Froblin Bellagarth doodad would actually do nothing. That should be fixed now. Thank you everyone for your valuable feedback!

    v1.02 patch!

Hello all! I've introduced some patches to the demo that should help with some of the more pressing issues that were reported. Check out the change list below to see what was patched:Worldmap softlock: Players could get their file essentially softlocked by entering the recollectory then moving the player character. This should no longer be possible to do, and furthermore if you have a save file with this issue, it should be fixed if you boot it up with this patched version of the game Fullscreen / GPU rendering issues: Some players have reported odd behaviors on the rendering side of things, sometimes when playing in fullscreen, sometimes when tabbing in and out of the game window. I've changed the rendering timing method for the game which hopefully should mitigate this issue for those experiencing it. If you find that this new version of the game runs poorly on your machine and the previous version ran better, you can switch back to the previous rendering method in the Settings menu under Graphics > Alternate render timing method > ONDate-time parsing crash: Some users would experience issues with their game crashing when trying to load due to a mismatch on the data given from their computer clock. A safety check has been added to prevent this from happening."Fully Swamped" and "Clean Getaway" achievement activating erroneously: There were some chapters which were not properly marked as being part of Book 1, therefore could be passed and you could still get the achievement. For the Clean Getaway achievement you could open the minigame in the gallery and quit out without playing and it would trigger the achievement.Jump buffer: Made it so if you press the jump button slightly too early before landing on the ground, the jump will still register.Escape Minigame balancing: Spears would spawn even if the player was on the edge of the screen, resulting in being stunlocked into a loss. The jump was also too short, making dodging rocks harder than intended. Item balancin...
