Achievements, localization & controller support
A big thank you to everyone for your support of Nightsoil! It’s been so wonderful to see the story resonate with you and hear your feedback. Today, we have a little patch for you with Steam achievements and a bunch of new options. You can experience the story in one of the 8 new languages added or play using a controller. We’ve also added WASD controls for the cart, which can be selected in Options by switching to Simplified Horse Controls. Standard remains as the option for A & D simulating the reins. A mere 21 weeks ago, we had the idea for a little game about collecting poop and maintaining your horse, which grew into a heartfelt story about a man and the horse that's been with him through thick and thin. When the sun rises in the morning, we can finally leave the streets of cholera-ravaged 1854 London behind. Using realistic rein controls, you drive the night-cart through the streets, collecting human waste.Through the night, memories surface, and the man reflects on the events that have shaped his life. His horse, Ol' Boy, has been with him through it all. Care for Ol' Boy and keep him steady through the night.As a night man, you clean privies and cesspits, and collect full chamber pots, loading the waste onto your cart. It's an unpleasant job, but the city relies on you to do it.You delve underground into the narrow tunnels of the cesspits and the maze-like sewers, where the air is toxic, and breathing becomes a challenge.
