About this game
Black Omens: House of Crimson Silk is a first-person, single-player puzzle horror experience set in a fictional version of Edo-era Japan.
You play as Idate Chiyo, a junior investigator of the Tokugawa Shogunate’s Magical Arcane Division. Her first assignment leads to a secluded mansion hidden deep within the forests surrounding the coastal city of Gōtsu in Shimane Prefecture — and a once-prosperous household now abandoned.
Sightings of strange disturbances have begun to circulate throughout the countryside. The local villagers whisper of restless spirits. And the wealthy family who once lived there have vanished almost overnight.
Within the silent halls of the Hon'iden Mansion, Chiyo will encounter lingering apparitions, cursed artifacts, and fragments of a family history better left forgotten.

Scour the mansion for clues and solve escape room-inspired contraptions to unlock new areas and uncover the lingering truth hidden within this haunted place.
Paranormal Perception
As an investigator of the Magical Arcane Division, Chiyo possesses supernatural abilities which allow her to perceive and interact with forces beyond the ordinary world, amongst other tools needed to purge the curses hindering her progress.

Play as Idate Chiyo - a paranormal investigator of the Tokugawa Shogunate tasked with her first mission to investigate the mysterious disappearance of an entire noble family and their abandoned mansion. The House of Crimson Silk entry marks the beginning of the Black Omens - a series of case file investigations bound by superstitious folklore, blasphemous rituals and ominous foreshadowing. Some of you may have previously walked the haunted corridors of the manor before. This chapter is a complete rework with new mechanics, enhanced lighting, improved sequences, and updated puzzles - a form it was always meant to take.
