Navigate treacherous trails and survive random disasters with friends or foes in Trail & Error. Manage supplies, adapt to unforeseen events, and race towards the end in this action-packed indie adventure.
About this game
Trail & Error is a chaotic co-op survival game for 1–8 players where poor decisions, bad luck, and questionable teamwork are just as dangerous as the trail itself.
Travel together across an unknown frontier, manage limited supplies, survive unpredictable disasters, and try not to abandon your friends when things go wrong. The goal is simple: reach the end of the trail alive.
Survive the Trail (Together… or Not)
Every run is a shared journey filled with dynamic events, environmental hazards, and tough choices. Food runs out. Illness spreads. Weather turns hostile. Your wagon breaks at the worst possible time.
When disaster strikes, you’ll have to adapt on the fly or deal with the consequences.
Physics-Based Chaos
Movement and interaction are driven by physics, turning everyday tasks into unpredictable problems:
Haul supplies and manage a physics-driven wagon
Navigate rough terrain and environmental hazards
Watch plans fall apart in the funniest ways possible
The physics won’t always kill you, but it will make things complicated.
Talk It Out (or Yell About It)
With proximity voice chat, coordination matters especially when things start going wrong. Expect frantic callouts, bad ideas, and arguments that feel all too familiar.
Key Features
1–8 player online co-op
Physics-based wagon and character movement
Randomized events and dynamic weather
4 Different map biomes
Survival based mechanics
Resource management: food, health, and illness
Proximity voice chat for immersive (and chaotic) communication
Trail & Error is about teamwork, survival, and the comedy that comes from everything going wrong at exactly the wrong time.

Minor Update (July 7th)
Hey everyone! This update focuses on fixing several bugs around respawning, inventory states, wagon storage, oxen behavior, and general run stability. We also made some improvements to help prevent players, objects, and oxen from getting permanently stuck or lost during a run. Fixes & Improvements Added new safety logic to detect when players or important objects fall under the map and teleport them back up to playable land. Fixed an issue where entering a tent could cause players to drop all of their items. Updated oxen behavior and collision so they are less likely to clip through objects or accidentally walk off cliffs on their own. Increased oxen walking speed. Fixed an issue where weather would not properly update for players after being respawned. Fixed an issue where total run time was not working correctly for players who joined a game in progress. Fixed a bug where dying while inside the inventory could cause the death screen to break. Fixed an issue where medicine would sometimes fail to work properly. Fixed a VOIP-related respawn bug. Updated wagon storage behavior so stored items are only ejected when the wagon is destroyed, instead of every time the wagon flips. Thanks for continuing to play and report issues. More fixes and improvements are on the way!Read full article on Community Announcements (Oberha5li Studios)Patch NotesOfficial

Inventory Management Update!
Inventory Update! After many of you asked, we went through and added a new inventory system to the game giving players 6 hand slots to carry items and wagons now have a crate that stores up to 20 items allowing for easier item management on the trail! We also made a few other small fixes to the game and will continue to take community feedback from the discussion board or withing our discord to adjust the game further. Thanks again to all your guys patience with us while we tweak the game to make it better in early access! - Added 6 player holding slots - Added a crate storage to wagons holding 20 items - Nerfed buffalo and bear health pools to make them a bit easier to fight - Fixed an issue with food not showing the correct prices and was not selling for the correct price based on food state - Fixed an issue with the cook food achievement triggering based on cooked food spawning in the shop - Added money bags that can spawn at points of interest around the map with random money values to help restore funds - Reduced illness / disease rates across the difficulties so that you don't instantly get dysentery (even if farts are funny) We are aware of a few other small bugs that we are working on but wanted to get the inventory update out as soon as possible to improve the game experience! Thanks again for helping us make the game better!Read full article on Community Announcements (Oberha5li Studios)Patch NotesOfficial
