About this game

The story continues in Survive the Eras

The First Fracture was our first door into the Dino Age universe, built early, and built with more heart than craft. Everything we learned making it went into Survive the Eras: one island, three prehistoric eras, and the world this game only hinted at, built the way it deserves.

THE STORY BEGINS IN THE SWAMP

You open your eyes in the mud. The air is thick, warm, and humid. A massive dragonfly, far too large for this time, buzzes past your head. This is not a dream. This is the Triassic.

Dino Age: The First Fracture is a standalone survival-RPG that tells the origin story of Owen, the hero from the Dino Age novel series. What starts as a struggle for survival in a mysterious swamp turns into a battle to save the timeline itself.

KEY FEATURES

  • LIVE THE LORE Step directly into the pages of the book. Explore the world, find lost journals, and uncover the truth behind the "Time Fractures" that threaten to erase history.

  • SURVIVE & CRAFT You start with nothing. Scavenge the wilderness for resources and forge your own survival gear. From primitive spears to sturdy armor: you will need them to withstand the aggressive nature around you.

  • MASTER YOUR SKILLS Your character grows with every action you take. The unique leveling system rewards specialization: higher levels unlock new benefits and possibilities. Train 6 unique skills:

    • Combat: Become deadlier with every fight.

    • Crafting: Create superior equipment.

    • Cooking: Prepare meals for buffs and stamina.

    • Hatching: Incubate dino eggs into loyal companions.

    • Gathering: Find rarer resources in the wild.

    • Woodcutting: Harvest efficiently and collect unique wood types.

  • FIGHT FOR THE TIMELINE The Time Fractures have corrupted the dinosaurs. Fight for rare loot and resources, and prepare for the ultimate test: an epic encounter with the Time Fractured Boss. Only by defeating him can you stabilize the Triassic era.

YOUR ADVENTURE STARTS HERE

This is more than a game; it is the first step into the Dino Age Universe. Do you have the skills to survive, build, and restore the timeline?

Our book The First Fracture is now free!

The Story Behind This Game Is Now Free Before Owen ever appeared on your screen, he appeared on a page. You're one of 600 people who have stepped through the fracture in this game. What most of you don't know is that this world started somewhere else first. The First Fracture, Book One of the Dino Age universe, follows almost the same story you've already played. A fourteen-year-old kid named Owen. A tear in the membrane between eras, out in the Arizona desert. A door into a world he was never supposed to find. Until now, reading it cost something. For a limited time, it doesn't. Get the full book free — PDF and EPUB, sent straight to your inbox: https://dinoage.online/free-book/The game gave you the first glimpse. The book goes deeper, and it's also where the road to Survive the Eras, the full game we're building now, really begins. Something ancient is stirring in the layers of time. This is where it started. - Mark & Jimmy Dino Age

Devlog - We're Building Something Much Bigger

Hey everyone, If you're here, you played The First Fracture, and that means a lot to us. Genuinely. We built that game as a first step: an introduction to Owen, to the world, to the lore we've been developing for years. It was raw, it was small, and it wasn't perfect. But you played it. And that kept us going. This video is our story. Mark and Jimmy — two people, building this from scratch. Full-time jobs, limited hours, and a universe we refuse to leave unfinished. In this devlog we walk you through how we got here: from the original idea four years ago, through the prototype, the book, the vertical slice, and now the Survive the Eras demo live during Steam Next Fest. What comes next is the real thing. Survive the Eras is the full game we've been building toward. Three prehistoric eras: Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous. A skilling system. Lots of dinosaurs. A lore-deep story that actually goes somewhere. The demo is just the entrance to the world. 👉 Wishlist Survive the Eras: Steam Next Fest runs until June 22. The demo is free to play. Your wishlist helps two people with a big dream prove that this world is worth building. Thank you for being here since the beginning. - Mark & Jimmy

Devlog #4: A Living Environment and Free Lore Book

Devlog #4 is live. This week we are focusing on the introduction of the game: Costa Rica.Creating Atmosphere One of our biggest lessons from The First Fracture was that our environments felt too static. For Survive the Era's, our primary goal is to bring the world to life. We have started implementing dynamic elements in Costa Rica to ensure the environment feels reactive and immersive from the very first minute. If you haven't yet, make sure to wishlist Surive the Era's here: Free Book Announcement As a thank you to our community, the Dino Age book is available for free on Amazon starting today. This offer is valid for 5 days. It is a great way to dive into the lore of the universe we are building. Grab the book here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G7KM1JS9Experimental Audio We are also stepping away from the desk today. We are going outside to record custom audio samples. Experimenting with real-world sounds allows us to keep the development process creative and helps us add unique layers to the game's soundscape. And it's also about having some fun on the way:)The Quest for 10 Reviews We are still working toward our milestone of 10 reviews for The First Fracture (we are at 8 now!). If you have played the vertical slice, please consider leaving your honest feedback. It significantly helps our visibility on the platform. Thanks for following the journey,Mark & Jimmy Dino Age

    Devlog #3: A Living World & Multi-Era Mechanics

Hi everyone! It’s time for Devlog #3! We’ve had an incredible week of planning and building, and we’re excited to share the next steps for Survive the Era’s.Defining the Experience We’ve spent a lot of time mapping out the "Era Flow." Our goal is to create a unique experience where the transitions and overlaps between time periods aren't just a gimmick, but a core part of how you play.Better, Faster, Stronger Mechanics We’re not just reusing what we had. We’ve already started refining:Active Combat: No more clicking once and watching Owen work.Dynamic Pets: Each pet type (Gather, Fight, Mount) now has its own role.Amulet Abilities: Owen’s amulet is becoming a powerful tool for survival.Starting in Costa Rica Work has begun on the intro/tutorial set in modern-day Costa Rica. We learned a lot from The First Fracture, and our focus now is on making the environment feel alive. Expect more animations, moving foliage, and a dynamic atmosphere that sets the tone for the rest of the game.Review Milestone Update: We’re still pushing for those 10 reviews on The First Fracture. If you haven't shared your thoughts yet, please consider leaving a quick review. It helps us grow more than you know! Thanks for following the journey,Mark & Jimmy
