New Demo Version
Hi everyone,I have been working on the game quite a bit and the demo has changed significantly since the Next Fest version. If you haven't checked out the demo in a while I would love to get some feedback on it at this point. I think most of the issues have been worked out but I'm sure there are some bugs I don't know about and the progression might feel a bit off.Because of the lack of clear direction it has taken me a long time to get the game to this point. Lots of bugs still pop up which indicates perhaps I'm a bit overscoped. I wanted to do something more ambitious than just another small incremental game but it's a fine line between something doable by a solo dev and something too big. If you go too small the game might feel boring or underwhelming - but it's more likely to be well-polished and have a nicely-tuned progression. If you go too big the game might be more interesting but it's also more likely to feel clunky and broken in many ways. It's a bit of a catch-22.Also with a big game there's a risk of getting stuck in development hell and never releasing. Now I've been working on this game so long that I have some cool new ideas I'd like to try with new games so I'm itching to get it done and move on.I think this game is pretty cool and definitely underrated but the wishlist numbers are truly abysmal. People have gotten better numbers without a trailer or demo. I bet I could release a completely AI generated Steam page and get more wishlists. So my confidence in the game doing well is pretty low right now. I have some new artwork coming for the Steam page but it seems to be a couple weeks away at this point. Maybe that will help the numbers but I kind of doubt it will do much.Despite the bad numbers, I will see the game through to the end! I want to find out if it's possible to turn things around with a high quality product. I will do my best but I guess there truly is no guarantee in game development. So yeah, would love to hear any feedback on the latest...Read full article on Community Announcements (hipsterdufus)
