About this game
Welcome to Bosforus
As a country boy who has never stepped foot outside his small village, you have arrived in Bosforus, the capital of the world built on two continents. Your pockets are empty, but your goal is big: Save Money. Here, people rush, traffic comes to a standstill, and seagulls scream. Learn the language of the streets and grind tooth and nail for every single penny.
The Grind & The Hustle
Swallow your pride in this city where you came to save money. From slicing Döner to smuggling, do whatever it takes to hang on. Meet locals in legal and illegal jobs, and remember: every Lira counts.
Heavy '70s Driving
Enjoy driving bulky, heavy '70s vehicles against the sunset in a city spanning two continents. Master the unforgiving driving physics of retro games. Outrun the cops and feel the true weight of the classics as you drift through the narrow streets.
Survive the Chaos
Don't hesitate to defend yourself when needed, but watch out for the cops. Dodge bullets, mess with neighborhood gangs, and survive the chaos on traditional ALATURKA food.
A Living, Breathing City
You are no longer a tourist; meet the real face of Bosforus. Throw simit to seagulls, beat up that annoying ice cream man, chase pigeons, and feed stray cats. The city lives its own life, and you are right in the middle of it.
SOLO BUT NOT ALONE
"Can a single person create those legendary games we played with admiration as kids using today's technology?"
ALATURKA is a transparent community project developed entirely on live streams with the comments and contributions of the community. The game continues to develop and grow with regular weekly streams. Share your feedback on our Steam Community page; let's lay the bricks of this nostalgic Bosforus together!

10,000 Wishlists! 🚕💨 (+ Alpha Beta Gamer, 80 Level & Cascadeur Features!)
My hands are still shaking as I write this. When I first started building ALATURKA live on stream, I thought it might be too "weird" or "janky" for the world to notice. I have zero marketing budget. I am just a solo developer building my childhood dream in my free time, using 100% Unreal Engine Blueprints. But today, we just crossed 10,000 Wishlists on Steam! 😭To every single one of you who clicked that wishlist button, shared the game with a friend, or tuned into my livestreams to watch me forget how to be a game developer: Thank you. You are making this dream a reality. And if that wasn't crazy enough, the 1970s Bosforus chaos has been spreading across the internet this month!🔥 The Hype is RealI am incredibly honored to announce that ALATURKA has recently been featured by some of the biggest names in the industry:🎮 Alpha Beta Gamer: One of my absolute favorite indie curators featured our chaotic 1970s streets, bringing so many new players into our community.🛠️ 80 Level: The legendary 80 Level team did a feature on my insane "100% Blueprint" and zero-C++ workflow, showcasing how I'm building this city completely solo.🏃♂️ Cascadeur Indie Spotlight: The amazing folks at Cascadeur featured ALATURKA as a case study, highlighting my animation process and raw retro aesthetic!🚧 What’s Next?Seeing this massive wave of support gives me an unbelievable amount of energy. I am currently back in the engine, working harder than ever to optimize the vehicle physics, expand the city, and polish the core gameplay loop.My next major goal is to prepare the very first playable demo / playtest build so you can finally experience the heavy PS2-era driving for yourselves. As always, I am building this entire game live on stream. If you want to see how an open-world game is made from scratch, ask questions, or just watch my game engine crash in real-time, come join the family!Discord: https://discord.gg/tbSEDnftPAYoutube: Twitter: https://x.com/bufuakgamesThank you for believing in me. 6,000 Wishlists! 🎉 + Devlog #2 is LIVE
We hit 6,000 Wishlists! 🚀 Hello Residents of Bosforus! I am incredibly happy to announce that ALATURKA has reached 6,000 Wishlists! For a solo developer building this game live on stream, seeing this community grow so fast is the biggest motivation. Thank you to every single one of you who clicked that button and supported the project. 🧿 Devlog #2 is Out Now 📺 You asked for it in the community poll, and it's finally here. In this new video, I break down exactly how I populate the city. I show my "lazy but smart" workflow on how I turn a real-life selfie into a fully playable, animated retro character in just 10 minutes. No complex sculpting, just pure efficiency and some 70s style. Watch the full video here: Thank you for being part of this journey. Until next time. Görüşürüz, BufuakRead full article on Community Announcements (Bufuak)AnnouncementsOfficial
DEVLOG 1: First 365 days of developing ALATURKA. 4500 WISHLISTS 🎂
Hello Residents of Bosforus! 👋Exactly one year ago, I started this project with a dangerous question: "Can a solo developer build an old-school GTA-style open-world game while livestreaming the entire process?"I had $0 budget. I had no team. And for a long time, I had 0 wishlists because... well, I forgot to open a Steam page. 😅Today, I am incredibly proud to share two massive milestones with you.1. The First Official Devlog is LIVE 📺 I just released our first-ever English Devlog on YouTube! This video covers the entire 1-year journey:How we went from "Unreal Slop" to a custom Retro Art Style. The 150+ hours of bugs, crashes, and "magic" fixes. The transition from an educational project to a real game.If you want to see how ALATURKA was actually built (and see me fail repeatedly before succeeding), watch it here:2. We Hit 4,500 Wishlists! 🚀 Just 3 weeks ago, I launched this Steam page live on stream. I honestly didn't know what to expect.Today, we are sitting at 4,500 Wishlists. To the 4,500 of you who clicked that button: THANK YOU. You are not just "numbers" on a graph; you are the engine behind this car. Every wishlist tells the Steam algorithm that people actually want a gritty, chaotic, survival-focused game set in 1970s Istanbul. What's Next? (Playtest Incoming!) As mentioned in the video, I am working hard to get the game to a "Playable Alpha" state. For the next 10 livestreams, my sole focus is polishing the core loop for a Private Playtest. If you want to be the first to crash a 1970s police car into a wall, make sure you are:Wishlisted here on Steam.Subscribed to the https://www.youtube.com/@bufuakgamesJoined our Discord channel: https://discord.gg/tbSEDnftPA (It's still a bit empty, come say hi!).Thank you for believing in the "Honest Grind."Görüşürüz, BufuakRead full article on Community Announcements (Bufuak)
