Ball Busters challenges you to chain insane combos in this high-octane action indie where every hit counts. Unlock unique fighters and create devastating synergies until the pressure forces a drop.

About this game

Ball Busters is an action roguelike all about busting balls using combos, special moves, and game-breaking synergies.

Wanna play as a billionaire with a literal suitcase of weapons?

How about a former assassin turned martial artist influencer?

Maybe a water goddess turned maid is more of your fancy?

Either way, these characters and more bring their own unique abilities and playstyles to your run.

A city with cars that don't care you're on the road.

A jungle with chimpanzees that throw poop at you.

A desert with sandstorms that temporally blind you.

All stages want one thing from you, for you to drop the ball.

Want to hit the ball with a random lightning strike?

Summon a giant ghost fist from the ground?

Or you just want something simple to make the big numbers go up?

No matter what, get to roll for power ups and upgrades at the end of every round.

Can you build a run winning kit from what you got?

Can you time your attacks to avoid getting parried?

How about making sure your attacks stay in the ring?

What about avoid getting frozen by a giant snowball?

Think carefully, because these specialized rounds will push your reflexes, skills, and your build!

Feeling lucky and want a D20 that buffs or screw you over?

Maybe a beige ball that judges how stylish your combos are?

Or a ball dressed like a certain laser-eyed psychopath?

No matter what, every ball you unlock adds something new to your run.

6 playable characters, each with unique mechanics.

6 stages filled with dynamic hazards.

50+ upgrades and special moves with stacking synergies.

10+ balls that changes your runs.

High-skill juggling mechanics with spectacle-fighter combo depth.

Roguelike build crafting and score-chasing replayability.

After numerous delay, I'm proud to announce Ball Busters Open Playtest is now Live! You can join via Ball Buster's Steam Page!Press ReleaseIn Ball Busters, pick from six wildly unhinged characters, each with their own abilities, stats, and playstyles. However, players only have a limited number of tries. Drop the ball too many times, and the run is busted. The open playtest gives players an early look at the game’s core combat, early playable characters and balls, upgrades, and challenging boss rounds. More Balls, A New Stage, And THE FOURTH CHARACTER : Ball Busters Devblog #2

Heyo! Dai here!Welcome to Ball Busters Devlog #2!If you're new here, Ball Busters is an action roguelike where you keep a ball in the air for as long as possible. Every time the ball touches the ground, you lose a try. Lose all your tries? Game over!Today, we'll look at Maki's new stage, two new balls, the game's fourth character, and the target date for the first playtest.Maki's StageBack in May, I decided to rework Maki's stage since I feel like it could look a bit better. The old version was a city. The new version is inspired by Las Vegas. There is still a lot of work left to do. The biggest thing I want to add is traffic.Basically, cars will drive through the stage and act as hazards for the player.I'm also thinking about adding fireworks. They could become another hazard players need to watch out for.New BallsI've added two new balls to the game: the Baka Ball and Ballander. These are what I'm calling "Enemy Balls." They don't just sit there. They fight back.First, let's talk about the Baka Ball. The Baka Ball has two modes: Tsun mode and Dere mode.In "Tsun" mode, it will either randomly charge at you or shoot a projectile that freezes you on contact.Meanwhile in "Dere" mode, players get bonus points for hitting it. It also has a small chance to not cost a try when it hits the ground. Finally, Ballander is a parody of Homelander from The Boys as you'd expect.Like the Baka Ball, it can charge at the player. However, unlike the Baka Ball, it'll randomly shoot lasers at the player.I still need to improve the charge attacks for both balls. Right now, they track the player too well and can feel unfair. With these two additions, I have now finished about half of the balls I want in the game.Got an idea for a ball? Let me know in the comments!EmoAfter many delays, I finally started work on the fourth character: Emo.In the game's story, Emo is Hana's younger brother. After Hana left her clan, Emo became the next in line be head of the clan.Because of this, he was forced to...

We Added A LOT Since The Reveal : Ball Busters Devblog #1

Heyo! Dai here! It’s been a while since I posted here, but that changes today. Welcome to the FIRST Ball Busters Devblog!I wanted to start these because I’m not sure how many of you follow the game on the Daitomodachi Labs YouTube or TikTok. So I wanted to post updates here too.If you’re new here, Ball Busters is an action roguelike where you keep a ball in the air for as long as possible. If the ball hits the ground, you lose a try. Lose all your tries? Game over. For this first Devblog, I’ll talk about what I’ve been working on for the past 4 months and share the roadmap for the game.CharactersI’ve been focused on finishing the first 3 playable characters: Maki, Dressa, and Hana..MakiHer special attacks can randomly become stronger. For example:Her missile attack can sometimes fire 2 missiles instead of 1Her flamethrower can randomly burn the ballBut there’s a catch. Her weapons can also LOCK for the round.Stronger weapons have a higher chance of locking. Missiles only have a small chance, while stronger moves like the flamethrower lock more often. The good news? You can lower the lock chance with upgrades.Maki also has a special crit ability. Sometimes your special attacks will give extra points.HanaIf you like Dragon Ball games, you’ll probably like Hana since many of her attacks were inspired by anime and fighting games. For example:Her Legando move was inspired by Chun-Li’s Spinning Bird KickHer Pyrodancer move was inspired by Sanji’s Diable JambeMost of Hana’s moves are done, but I’m still changing her special ability because playtesters found ways to abuse it too easily.DressaDressa is the easiest character to play and the favorite character among my playtesters. She uses lots of large AOE attacks that can hit the ball many times or weaken it.Her special ability increases your score multiplier depending on how many tries you have left. The problem? It was WAY too strong. So I’ve been balancing it to make it fair. Right now, Dressa is the last character that still ne...
