Developer's Note:
Spring Me Up is inspired by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and A Difficult Game About Climbing by Pontypants. We consider it a continuation of a genre that, in our opinion, still has far too few entries today - and with this game, we aim to contribute to it.

DEMO UPDATE
OUR DEMO WAS WAY TOO BIG At first, we thought making a big demo would be a great idea. I basically packed in most of the core features from the full game because I wanted players to really see what they’re getting. After about a month, we realized that was a mistake. What we learned:Big demos can be exhausting — especially for difficult gamesIf you show too much, you kill some of the surprise for the full releaseA short demo works better, you can tease people and leave them with more interestMost players won’t finish a long demo — and on platforms like Steam, completion data mattersA demo should leave people wanting more, not feeling done.If the demo is too hard, players might assume the full game isn’t for them.So what did we do:We ended up heavily trimming the demo down and even added an easier level. We relied a bit more on playtesters feedback and can proudly announce, the new demo will be up between february 16 and february 18 2026. Playtest-Feedbacks are in - Last Adjustments
Playtest-Feedbacks came inand here's what we learned:Players understood 90% of the controls after the first few seconds - but the last 10% didn't click automatically as intendedThere is a really steep learning curve in Level 1 - as intended - but maybe a bit too hard. Some people got frustrated on a specific obstacle in Level 1So what we did now:Some more informations in the starting-area to clarify everything right awayA few obstacles and areas have been adjusted, now they're a (tiny) bit easierThe obstacles was overworked and now doesn't crush you right away if you don't get itOverall, this was a really nice experience. We mostly got the feedbacks that we hoped for. After implementation, we now wait for the last few feedbacks on these updates... and then we'll release the demo 😍Read full article on Community Announcements (More Pain)
