Navigate treacherous waters and become infamous on Smoky Sails, an indie casual game where you fight naval battles and sell loot to fund your voyages.
About this game
Ahoy! 👋
I'm Jonas, and I made Smoky Sails - because building a pirate game seemed slightly more reasonable than buying an actual ship.
Fight simple arcade-style naval battles, collect loot, and sell it back at port. Spend your gold on better cannons, a sturdier hull, and more cargo space, then sail into increasingly dangerous waters and build your infamy.
Between battles, search the islands for buried treasure, shipwrecks, and other strange discoveries. There is no giant open world, no complicated crew management, and no need to understand actual sailing.
Smoky Sails is a short, handcrafted pirate adventure about cannons, treasure, and making increasingly poor decisions at sea.
Warning: may cause an irrational desire to own a parrot.

Smoky Sails has been revealed!
After spending years on bigger projects like Omno and Kibu, I wanted to make something smaller, simpler, and a little less serious.Smoky Sails began as a creative break - a compact project with a manageable scope, no character animations, and a simple gameplay loop I could focus on making as satisfying as possible. The result is a short, handcrafted pirate adventure about naval battles, collecting and selling loot, upgrading your ship, and hunting for treasure among uncharted islands. It may be a small game, but I have genuinely enjoyed making it - and I’m quietly rather proud of how it is coming together. If Smoky Sails sounds like your kind of game, adding it to your wishlist would mean a lot - even if it is simply your way of supporting me. ❤️Read full article on Community Announcements (Kamino)
