I'll start with the exciting news: Interlocked: Puzzle Islands is NOW available on the Meta Quest Store. Go check it out now if you'd like to support this project! I'm working on getting the game ready for Steam, and it's coming soon™️ What's in the Steam version of Interlocked: Puzzle Islands Flat, non-VR: Play as you would using mouse and keyboard!PCVR: Supports OpenXR PCVR streaming of the gameStandalone VR: Look, the game runs native, standalone 90fps on a Meta Quest 2. The First Mainstream Burr Puzzler?As a fun fact, Interlocked was initially released as a Flash game in 2011 (!) on Armor Games, and later on Newgrounds, Kongregate and other web game portals. It was a special time in game dev as Flash made it easy to experiment with many genres and game mechanics. I might be wrong but I don't think I've seen the interlocking puzzle mechanic before this one. As a Flash game, it reached 20 million players. The game was later rebuilt from scratch as a mobile game in 2012, releasing for the App Store and Google Play. These apps are still playable today for free, I try to maintain basic support but they are quite outdated. Now, many years later, Interlocked is completely rebuilt again. With a little story arc, cute new visuals, and most importantly a brand new set of puzzles curated with burr puzzle designers from around the world.
