GEODE | 1.0.1b
GEODE | 1.0.1b Tutorial + BugfixesCongratulations on making it to the weekend! Tutorial added in, which auto-starts when opening the game for the first time. Yes it will appear for everyone upon launching, but can easily be skipped. Boars being tuned down a little, some hitboxes changed to be a little bit more generous for walking around base, and some other balance changes. BugfixesFixed an issue where wooden chests would only hold 20 items per slot, my bad on that one. Now holds 40Fixed an issue where enemies could spawn outside of the mapSlightly increased radius to pick up loot on the groundBalance ChangesAura towers can no longer be upgraded. There was a lot of strange behavior and poor information given (like being able to place upgrade items, but they didn't do anything), so dialing it back for now. This should really only noticeably nerf the Gelthite Aura tower since you can no longer buff the amount it heals. Giving it a buff to compensate. \Boars nerfed. :) Gelthite Boar Base Health reduced \ For reference, the other boars have 125 base max hp All boars XP required to level up \, this will slow down their scalingBow Tower cost reduced \Quality of LifeTutorial Implemented! Goal was to give new players an easier introduction to the game. Can easily be skipped for you veteransSingleplayer implemented as well, should be playable offlineRight clicking a tower now opens player's inventoryBlue Rockies attack-trigger range reduced, actual damage range unchanged though. Gotchu @pbkPlanted Mushroom hitboxes much smaller, should be able to walk around your 'farms' more easilyCore hitboxes smaller, should be easier to walk around.OtherBiome Generation method tweaked, preparing to add new biomes so the previous implementation won't work anymore. >:)Work is well under way for the next biome, it should be pretty chill. Some biome floor tilings will be wack at the edges, I'm aware of this and will fix later down the roadAnd as always, thanks for reading, and happy playing!...Read full article on Community Announcements (PhD)AnnouncementsOfficial
GEODE | 1.0.1 Balance Changes
GEODE | 1.0.1 Balance ChangesBalance Changes- Boar Tusk drop chance increased \ "NOBODY GOT A GREEN TUSK YET?"- Boar charge attack hitbox areas reduced.Tuned down costs of most buildings -->>- Small Wooden Wall \ (Plant fiber unchanged)- Large Wooden Wall \ (Plant fiber unchanged)- Small Stone Wall \ (Plant fiber unchanged)- Large Stone Wall \- Wooden Chest \- Crystal Refinery \ (Stone unchanged)- Player now gains 5% damage and move speed (additive) upon leveling up- Rockies dropped XP increased \- XP is now granted to all towers that contributed to an enemy's death, instead of just the one who dealt the killing blow. The above tweaks ALL pretty much point to making the game easier. Between the tower XP changes and the way enemies scale, late game should feel much more stable, and maybe even too easy. Bugfixes- Fixed an issue where players (primarily in single player) weren't getting the achievement for defeating the Forest Treant.- (Finally) fixed an issue which caused Tooltips to work improperly in games with more than one player :)- Environment objects can no longer spawn outside of world boundaries.- Forest Treant pathing should be a little more robust, no more stuck in idle animation.QoL Changes- Players can no longer collide with eachother, should feel better running around base- Can now click+drag to move inventory items, slightly experimental so please let me know if any issues arise. Looked great in testing though.I'll be putting my effort towards more content for the foreseeable future now that the game seems much more stable bug-wise! For specifics on what to expect, please refer to the content road map. I hope to be able to share some bigger news within the next few weeks. As always, thanks for reading!-PhDRead full article on Community Announcements (PhD)AnnouncementsOfficial
GEODE | Content Roadmap
GEODE Content RoadmapHeyo!I've gotten a lot of positive feedback since releasing GEODE, and you guys have no idea how much it means. A very common trend among responses though is, "it kinda needs more stuff to do", and I completely agree. So, I wanted to just straight up share my plans for what I'll be adding in the future. It's hard for me to give an exact timeline date-wise, but the ideas are all thereBiomesMy goal right now is to have 4 unique biomes, and a unique boss for each one. Right now we're just at 2 biomes and 1 boss, but c'mon now that's not nearly enough. I won't spoil what the biomes will be, but I'm very excited to implement them >:)EnemiesRight now theres only 2 (3 if you count the boss) enemies. This definitely gets a little repetitive. I plan on adding more, as well as adding a bit more depth to the pre-existing ones. The boar specifically, as @PolarBearKing brought up, does "booty shakes in your face" which hopefully won't be for much longer haha. These enemies will likely come with the biomes, but I honestly don't know for now.TowersOh BOY am I excited to add new towers. I'm being deliberately slow adding them in because I really want each tower to feel like it has a unique strength. I also want to be cautious about adding lots of random new effects (think a poison tower, a stacking damage tower, etc), because I don't want to break the feeling of the game. I'm not saying I won't add towers like these, but I just want to be sure they're right for the game first. Expect more towers in the future!Other Content/ProgressionIn general right now, after getting your base set up and getting yourself geared up, there isn't much to do. I really want to add more to do out in the world, whether that's things like clearing dungeons or camps of enemies, I'm not exactly sure. I have a bunch of ideas floating around my head, but I'm not sure which exact direction I want to go yet. I have some ideas for different kinds of tools, a way to upgrade/combine/modify th...Read full article on Community Announcements (PhD)Patch NotesOfficial

Hey!Another quick update addressing some of the feedback + bugs you guys have reported!1.0c Patch NotesBugfixes- Host perks now no longer duplicate when creating->leaving->creating a lobby- Players can no longer leave the map :) - Clients can now properly use the Concentrated Crystal- Fixed a bug where the primary auto-fire wasn't properly stopping upon opening a menu.- Enemies can now no longer spawn within the Core's radius- You can no longer cosmetically change the Core's health :)- Fixed a bug where the Aura towers were using the wrong hitbox as their collision, should effectively have a smaller collision box nowIts amazing how many of these are obvious and simple but I missed them entirely. Thank you to those who brought them to my attention, you guys are the bestRead full article on Community Announcements (PhD)Patch NotesOfficial
GEODE | 1.0b Patch Notes
Heyo!Just a small patch to address some issues players have been running into, nothing huge. 1.0b Patch NotesBalance Changes- Cacti take reduced damage from enemies, and base health greatly increased- Renthite Aura towers now no longer give strength based on their own strength modifier. This was resulting in quickly scaling to massive numbers (in the billions). Now scales linearly with just the base strength modifier value. This was also causing the Gelthite aura tower to heal so much health that it flipped to negative and would start harming your own towers :)Lots of bugfixes!- Crystal Refinery slots now no longer break when you click on one with an empty hand.- Quest UI should now no longer overlap the clock UI- Now when a player crafts the Crystal Refinery, quest completes for all players- Player can no longer hit enemies from super far away, oops - Fixed an issue where Highest Nights Survived wasn't being tracked properly. Issued a backfill fix, some progress should be recovered- Players now have a slight random spawn offset, so no more getting stuck on eachother- Fixed an issue with being able to place structures slightly outside of the core radius. There was a mismatch between the visual grid and the actual distance logic.- Fixed a bug where an area of the map was undiscoverable- Fixed an issue where the tooltip would become stuck open if a slot was destroyed while it was hovered. A special thank you to all those who have joined the Discord, left reviews, and used the in-game feedback feature. You guys have made this whole game-dev thing feel more like a reality. If you find any more issues, please don't hesitate to ping me in discord or use the in-game feedback menu directly. Thank you!!-PhDP.S. I've got some plans under way for more content including (but not limited to) two new biomes, more enemies, and some QoL features. >:)Read full article on Community Announcements (PhD)
