As you build your infrastructure across distant exoplanets, W.A.R.D. challenges you to defend against hostile natives while expanding your intergalactic empire.
About this game
W.A.R.D. offers a unique twist on the Tower Defense genre: in a stylized sci-fi universe, you control mobile mining units called the Excavators to invade alien worlds and mine their precious ores. You then use these resources to build and expand your network of paths and towers to protect your excavation from native defenders and upgrade your arsenal.
Using the Build Core you piece together a route connecting your Excavators to the desired deposit. But be weary, as these paths will also be used by the approaching enemies, so their efficiency is a double-edged sword. Unlike traditional TD games, your base is not static - if things get messy, you can build emergency paths to hide away until your towers finish the job or abandon your position altogether and set up elsewhere.
There are two primary resources to be extracted: Constructium is your lifeline - use it to build new structures and expand your defenses during each mission. But the real objective of your mining endeavours is Winnium - a rare mineral much desired by the W.A.R.D. corporation, used between missions to research new technologies and upgrade your arsenal!
W.A.R.D. takes full advantage of its 3D environment. Each object has a physical hitbox and is subject to physics - enemies can push and jump onto each other or be blown to orbit by powerful explosions!

One Year Anniversary!
One Year of DevelopmentIt's been a year since we started working on W.A.R.D. - from a very early and ugly prototype towards a much nicer, award-winning prototype. From two friends and a dream, to 10 friends and a bigger dream. Learn more about our journey so far.INTRODUCTIONBonjorno and welcome to the first installment of our developer diary. Today, we want to celebrate and showcase the first year of development of our unique sci-fi tower defense game, as well as to introduce the game and our team, in case you haven’t heard about us yet.We are Seventh Realm – a mostly student-based team – and for the past year, we have been working on our very first game – W.A.R.D.WHAT IS WARD?In WARD, you take command of an evil megacorporation’s mining fleet and invade alien worlds to strip them of their precious resources. However, the planets’ native residents are not very happy with you destroying their homeland and they will try to fight against your exploitation. When you arrive on a planet, the first order of business is to build paths connecting your excavator units to the nearest resource. But be weary, because as soon as the excavation begins, the natives are alerted, and they will try to destroy your Excavators at all costs. That’s why you mustn’t forget to reinforce your infrastructure with defensive towers and show those primitive aliens who the boss is.The first resource you will want to gather is Constructium – used to expand your network of paths and towers. However, once you have built a solid defense, you need to look for Winnium – the real objective of your missions. Not only do you need enough of it to even complete each level, but it is then also used to upgrade your arsenal and unlock new technologies, so you definitely don’t want to leave any behind.Although this gameplay may look simple at first glance, it brings some very unique mechanics and innovations to the tower defense genre without disrupting the core systems that make these games so fun.For example, h...Read full article on Community Announcements (Seventh Realm)Patch NotesOfficial
