About this game
FROM CAVES TO THE STARS

Begin your journey as the chief of a wild tribe on a floating island, and lead your people through six eras of evolution. Empires Edge breaks visual boundaries: watch as straw huts give way to stone fortresses, then to factories and futuristic laboratories. It is a journey from wooden clubs to battle mechs, where each era completely transforms the look and feel of your city.
CONQUEST OF FLOATING ISLANDS
Expand your domain step by step, destroying enemy outposts and seizing territories rich in unique resources. This is not just base building — it’s true expansion: control the logistics between islands to ensure your growing empire functions as a single, well-oiled machine.
PEOPLE ARE THE ENGINE OF THE EMPIRE
Balancing population growth, workforce, and military might is the key to victory. The further you advance through the eras, the deadlier the conflicts—and the greater the losses you risk.
CLASH OF EMPERORS
You are not alone in this arms race. Leaders with unique bonuses—from aggressive early pressure to technological supremacy—fight for dominance across the map. Study your rivals, adapt your strategy to the terrain, and prove that your civilization is worthy of survival at the edge of the universe.

Festival and Playtest Results
Over the course of the one-week playtest, 120 people played the game and 49 left feedback. The average rating was 7.6/10, and 90% said they would like to play the next version. More than 900 people wishlisted the game in 5 days, bringing the total to 4,500+ wishlists since development began. The feedback showed exactly what I was hoping for: players who remember Mega Lo Mania recognize that same spirit in Empires Edge. At the same time, people who never played the original also responded positively, which tells me the core mechanics work on their own.I noticed one funny thing. After taking some earlier feedback on board, I allowed players to access the missions without completing the second tutorial. Almost everyone finishes the first tutorial, but many simply skip the second one, even though it explains several important mechanics. As a result, about half of the “the game never explained X to me” complaints came from players who skipped the part where X was explained. I’m bringing the mandatory second tutorial back, but I’ll think about how to make it less intrusive for players who have already figured things out.I was also especially happy to see several people, independently of each other and in different languages, mention the exact same issue: there needs to be a notification when one of your islands is under attack. When unrelated players independently point out the same problem, that’s one of the clearest signals of what should be fixed first. It’s now on the list of upcoming changes. When it comes to difficulty, the audience split pretty evenly into two camps: some found the game easy, while others found it difficult. That’s not surprising for a game that currently has no difficulty selection and uses the same AI behavior for everyone. So I’m now working on a complete overhaul of the AI logic. The AI will have a much better understanding of its own economy, where to invest its resources, and what it should prioritize building, instead of relying on rigid scrip...Read full article on Community Announcements (Kaser Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
0.2.22. Hotkeys
In this update, I added full hotkey customization. You can now rebind keyboard keys and mouse buttons in the Controls tab. Most actions support both a primary and a secondary binding, and you can apply changes, cancel them, or restore the default settings. The game also checks for binding conflicts and prevents the use of reserved keys. Your selected controls are saved and remain after restarting the game.If you notice that an action cannot be rebound, works incorrectly, or something is missing from the controls menu, please let me know.Read full article on Community Announcements (Kaser Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
Empires Edge Playtest is open now!
Hey everyone! The moment I’ve been looking forward to is finally here: the first closed playtest of Empires Edge is now open! The playtest will be available throughout this week.I’ve prepared 2 tutorial missions to make your first steps into the game as smooth as possible, followed by 5 full missions. The main goal of this playtest is to understand how well the core of Empires Edge works: whether developing your islands, building an economy, raising armies, and capturing new territories is fun and engaging. I also want to see how clear everything feels to players and uncover any issues I may not notice myself.Throughout the week, I’ll be actively reading your feedback and releasing updates. So please let me know what you enjoyed, as well as anything that felt confusing, frustrating, or simply not fun.Thank you so much for your support and interest in Empires Edge. Your feedback genuinely helps me make the game better.See you on the islands!Read full article on Community Announcements (Kaser Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
Major AI Overhaul, New Attack Window, and the Orcs’ Bronze Age
Hi everyone!A lot has changed in Empires Edge over the past few weeks. Most of the recent development has been focused on rebuilding the computer-controlled opponents and preparing the AI for much deeper improvements in future updates.Alongside that work, the game has received a new interface for attacking enemy islands, new Bronze Age content for the Orcs, faction flags, and a number of smaller fixes and improvements.New AI ArchitectureThe AI has been almost completely moved to a new decision-making system. This is a major internal overhaul that will serve as the foundation for further development of the computer-controlled opponents. However, the AI behavior itself is still far from finished. Future updates will focus on significantly improving its economy, development of captured islands, military decisions, and behavior during longer matches.ArmyThe military side of the AI has also received many changes.Army recruitment has been improved to better account for available population, the economy, and units already being trained. If existing military camps cannot produce the required army quickly enough, the AI can now build additional ones. After advancing to a new age, the AI can upgrade outdated troops instead of continuing to rely on units from the previous age. When necessary, the AI can first construct the building required to upgrade its troops.Actions related to attacking, defending, capturing territory, and moving armies have been reworked.Fixed situations where a military objective could be repeatedly cancelled and recreated.Improved AI behavior in longer matches with multiple opponents.New Attack InterfaceA new way to send your army to an enemy island has been added. An attack button now appears above the enemy base.Clicking it opens a separate window where you can choose the composition of the army you want to send. You can select the desired number of units for each unit type.A quick option to select all available troops has been added.Unit types that cannot ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Kaser Games)AnnouncementsOfficial
