Explore the ruins of Kharos Station and piece together a serene haven for the final feline in this narrative-driven indie game. Diora crafts a short, peaceful experience amidst cosmic despair.

About this game

You are an AI on a decaying space station. Humanity is gone. All that remains is dust, silence, and one small, frightened creature.

Your only prompt: Take care of her.

The Last Cat in the Universe is a short, narrative-driven incremental game. Your directive is clear: salvage what's left of a dying ship to build a warm home for the final survivor.

Key Features

  • Find Your Flow: Experience a mining mechanic designed for relaxation. Hover your mouse over debris fields in a satisfying, rhythmic flow. No frantic clicking required.

  • Meaningful Progression: Every upgrade matters. Unlock tangible leaps in power that let you tear through deeper layers of the ship instantly. As the station decays, you must constantly balance your desire for stronger tools against the rising cost of keeping the air breathable and the nest warm.

  • Recover the Lost Lullaby: Discover the story of the station and its crew as you collect the fragments of a very important song.

  • A Soulful Soundtrack: Music is the emotional core of this experience. The original score, composed in collaboration with Venezuelan singer-songwriter Diora Salazar, evolves from meditative rhythms to deep emotion, intimately tied to the narrative's climax.

A Focused Experience

This game is designed to be played in one or two sittings (approx. 2-3 hours). It does not feature infinite prestige loops or idle grinding. It is a complete story about the quiet joy of fostering a life in dire circumstances.

    Patch notes 1.0.4

Added the translation into Traditional Chinese We've made another attempt to fix the bug that some players were experiencing where their achievements weren't unlocking. We believe this shouldn't happen anymore, but we'll keep an eye out for any new reports. A small balance change to prevent players from getting stuck in the mid-game for too long. There are now a couple of guaranteed plasma blocks (the red ones) between layers 24–27, since we’ve noticed that this is where people get stuck the most.

    Patch notes 1.0.3

We've added improved support for controller gameplay. Please keep in mind that this game was developed with the intention of being played with a mouse, so we believe that remains the optimal way to play it. We welcome any comments or suggestions, as there may be a better way to implement controller controls that we haven't thought of yet. We’ve tweaked the balance a bit more, especially around levels 20–30, as that seemed to be a common sticking point for many players. We’ve fixed a minor visual bug in one of the cat’s animations. We’ve added a couple of extra safeguards, which should definitively resolve any issues with earning the game’s achievements.

    Patch notes 1.0.2

Hi everyone! We've been paying close attention to your feedback and suggestions over the last few days. Here are the patch notes for version 1.0.2 with the latest tweaks and fixes: The main menu now checks if you meet the requirements for any missing achievements and unlocks them automatically, which should fix the issues some of you were experiencing. Added the option to replay the final cutscene. After finishing the game, clicking "Continue" on the main menu will now let you choose whether to keep playing or rewatch the ending. Made a minor balance adjustment. There is now a very low chance for red blocks to appear between layers 20 and 25 to prevent you from getting stuck in that area for too long. Updated some of the cat's sprites to make the passage of time visually clearer. Fixed a few errors in the cat's animations. Fixed other minor visual bugs. Wilmar & Wilderman Apamate Studio

    Patch notes 1.0.1

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the amazing reception The Last Cat in the Universe has had in these first few hours. We've been closely watching your feedback and we already have our first small patch ready to fix a few minor issues. Patch 1.0.1 Notes: Fixed a bug that unintentionally made some upgrades free. Fixed an issue that caused the final cutscene to play more than once. Fixed the cat's purring sound triggering at the wrong time. Added a couple of extra dialogue lines. Fixed translation errors in the Russian, German, French, Portuguese, and Italian versions. What are we working on next? We are still reading everything you post and are already preparing future updates. We specifically want to mention that we are paying close attention to the game's overall balance, evaluating ways to improve it, especially in the late-game sections. We are also keeping a very close eye on localization. If you are playing in a language other than English or Spanish and spot any mistranslations, we would be incredibly grateful if you could report them to us in the Steam community forums. Thank you for playing and for helping us polish the experience! Wilmar & Wilderman Apamate Studio
