About this game
SWOM — a new narrative survival game with magic elements, created by a solo developer.
You find yourself in a strange, mystical world where you must survive harsh conditions.
Explore the Open World: Wander through dark forests, investigate ancient ruins, descend into mysterious caves, and uncover the secrets of diverse biomes.
You are alone in a completely new world. Every artifact you find is not just an item, but a fragment of your personal history: past, present, and future. Who left these symbols for you? Why?
Surprisingly, you don't remember how you ended up in this mystery-shrouded world, and you don't know who you are. But your body remembers:
How to start a fire to save yourself from paralyzing cold and soul-crushing hunger.
How to avoid threats from dangerous approaching creatures.
How to steady the trembling in your hands before drawing your first magical symbol.
Here, magic is not just a spell list. It flows within the earth; it must not be memorized, but felt intuitively. You do not repeat ancient formulas; you transform them, creating your own charms.
Your Primary Objectives:
Gathering: Search for food, water, plants radiating magical energy, valuable minerals, and other survival supplies.
Building & Crafting: Construct reliable shelters from wood and stone, craft tools, weapons, and armor to help you withstand dangers.
Survival Stats: Monitor your health, stamina, hunger, and thirst. Maintain optimal body temperature, especially at night when the cold becomes a serious trial.
SWOM World Features:
Dangerous Creatures: Various beings inhabit this land, some of which pose a threat to you.
Dynamic Weather: Unpredictable atmospheric phenomena create additional challenges.
Day and Night Cycle: Darkness in this environment brings a heightened sense of threat to life — it is best to stay in shelter during this time.
The Sinister Green Moon: Periodically appearing in the sky, it marks the arrival of "The Hardest Hour." When the ringing silence drives your fear of encounter to the limit, and the only sound remaining in this space is the ringing in your ears.
As you play, you will gain new skills, magic keys, and improve your gear — all of which will help you survive and get closer to the main mystery of this game.
Your shelter is not just a roof over your head. It is a support that gives you energy to move forward. Use everything you find. Protect your space with spells that you create yourself, combining basic magical forces.
SWOM has a storyline, but completing it is optional — you are free to choose your own path:
Some will build a house just to live and pass the time.
Some will go deep into the forest to find that very answer.
Some will wait until finally, some sound breaks through the silence.
SWOM is not just survival. It is a game about your destiny, hidden in the twilight of a mysterious world.
P.S. The game is developed by one person. The world is inspired by tundras. Everything in the game is the developer's fiction, not a reflection of his or your life in another Universe.

Hello everyone! 👋🏼You may have noticed that I have been a little quiet lately and put my videos and other content on hold. There is a simple reason for that: I shifted all of my focus to development. And honestly, things are going incredibly well with the game 🥰! I will be back with more videos soon, but for now, I want to share the biggest updates and show you what I have been working on.📢 Big news: Steam Next Fest!I am excited to announce that I will be taking part in the autumn edition of Steam Next Fest! That means you will soon be able to play the demo yourselves 🔥🛠 What is new in the game?I have accomplished so much during this time that it is difficult to remember everything, so here are the most important additions.✨ Magic and custom spells• I implemented new magical rules for creating spells. You can now come up with some genuinely exciting combinations. Check out the GIF to see how it works 🪄• Voice casting, and this one is wild 🤯! I added a system that lets you create your own gestures and, most importantly, spoken incantations. How does it work? You say your custom spell out loud and draw a gesture in the air. The system records that combination, allowing you to use the spell you created later 👍🏼I am still working on the recognition accuracy and will continue improving it, so this feature will be optional. You can cast spells using only a gesture or combine the gesture with your voice 🎙🌍 World, atmosphere, and environment• Dynamic weather: rain, snow, wind, and other effects now influence the game world.• Terrain and level design: I have done a huge amount of work in this area. The map is now even more beautiful and atmospheric, with many new technical solutions implemented behind the scenes 🧑💻• Water: new rivers and water areas have been added 💧• Visuals: I added a wide range of new visual effects, VFX, and decals.🎮 Gameplay and mechanics• A swimming system and oxygen mechanic have been implemented.• Crafting: you can now prepare meals and brew potions....Read full article on Community Announcements (WoFo)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hello everyone! Let me tell you what interesting things have happened lately:• New PCI now have a new PC. For the past five years, I've been working on an inexpensive gaming laptop, and over time it started to severely limit development.I decided to build myself a powerful computer to work faster on the game and properly test it in different conditions: both on weak hardware and on ultra settings. The difference is very noticeable. Now everything opens, compiles, and loads in seconds, not minutes. I've been using it for two weeks now and I'm just loving it.• Developer WebsiteI've made my developer website. You can already navigate to the SWOM game section, where I'm gradually launching an interesting service. The idea is this: you'll be able to suggest tasks, vote for other players' ideas, and track how these tasks move through status columns. Essentially, it's something similar to task tracking for game development, only public. The site is currently in test mode. I'm still fixing issues, including access problems, but overall you can already visit and see how it looks: "https://wofo-industry.ru/games/swom". What do you think?• Game ChangesThere are quite a few changes to the game itself, although I'm not showing anything globally new yet. I'm continuing to work on the game's foundation and bringing various systems to a proper state. What was done: • continuing level design; • adjusted colors and post-processing a bit; • added a save system: now you can save and sleep; • added new decals on objects; • added a settings menu; • made the first version of the creature system; • added footstep and jump sounds for different surfaces; • fixed various bugs.Overall, work is progressing actively. I'm currently focusing more on the game's foundation to make it easier to add new content later.Read full article on Community Announcements (WoFo)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hi everyone! 👋 What's new today?First of all, I've upgraded to Unity 6 🎉There's not much media content yet — I'm pretty swamped, but the moment I get a spare minute, I jump straight into working on it. So if I haven't posted in a while, don't worry — development is moving forward! ✨Good news: I've hit the 1,000 wishlists milestone! That's incredibly awesome — a huge thank you to everyone who keeps adding the game to their wishlist! 🙏On the content side: I've already created a couple of creature models for the game 🐾 All that's left is to animate them and implement an AI behavior system for these creatures — but that's the next big task. The main focus over the past few weeks has been the magic system 🔮 It's one of the most complex mechanics to implement in this project, and… I finally finished it ✅What I had to implement:A dedicated graph system for UI display;A custom shader for node connections;A lightweight UILineRenderer component;Drawing new UI elements for the graph-building interface.I've attached a few GIFs below to give you an idea of how it will look (the visuals aren't final yet, this is just a preview!).What do you think? Let me know in the comments!Read full article on Community Announcements (WoFo)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hi everyone! What's new today?First off, I want to note that we are slowly gaining momentum and building a community of people interested in the game. One of my videos went viral on TikTok and gave a nice boost to my wishlists.I want to say a huge thank you again to everyone who follows and adds the game to their wishlist — both are very important!I also updated the Steam page: tweaked the description and added some GIFs.Regarding level design: I added the first tunnel in the mountain. I'm continuing with texturing and placing props.Regarding effects: I made a decal shader for wood, turned out pretty nice (you can already see it on the Steam page).Coding: I finally solved the movement issue on terrain and will stick with the current implementation. It's important to note that swimming is already implemented, so now I can work on animations.I started writing the spell system I came up with. The system will be extremely large and complex; there's a lot to do: from the core logic to UI interaction.I also started working on characters – I already have 4 main characters. I might show something later. Want me to?Anyway, I continue to work hard "in the name of all indies!"Read full article on Community Announcements (WoFo)
