About this game
Abyssbound is a dark fantasy 1–4 player co-op action roguelite where every descent is different, and the voice in your head may be your greatest weapon… or your downfall.
Centuries ago, the Abyss was sealed during the legendary Last Seal War. Now the cracks have returned. Rotten energy seeps into forgotten halls, twists creatures, warps reality, and drags the dead back into motion.
You are an elite member of the Assassin of the Veil, a secret guild capable of forming a mental bond with fallen Veil Guardian spirits. Only those who carry such a spirit can withstand the Abyss without losing their mind.
Every run is a new descent. Every room shifts. Every Abyss Core you destroy pushes the world closer to salvation… and pulls you closer to the truth.
Choose Your Spirit. Shape Your Fate.
At the start of each run, choose from unique spirit personalities. Each spirit has its own passive buffs, dialogue style, and moral behavior:
The Warrior: resilience, stamina, survival
The Trickster: speed, crit chance, chaotic humor
The Seer: perception, loot sense, insight
The Executioner: brutal close-combat power
Your spirit speaks only to you. It can guide you… encourage you… or mock your failures.
Play well, and it becomes supportive, granting powerful buffs. Struggle, and it turns harsh, applying debuffs and psychological pressure.
Run-Based Progression
Every descent features:
Randomized room sequences
Shifting layouts, puzzles, and encounters
Mini-boss and boss fights
A Collapse Phase after destroying a Core
Permanent upgrades unlocked when you die or escape
Each run is a self-contained adventure, but every failure makes you stronger.
Fast, Skill-Based Combat
Master an assassin’s arsenal:
Swift melee sword combat
Precision crossbow headshots with stylish slow-motion
Throwing knives and silent backstab executions
Dodge, weave, and strike through intense encounters
Mobility-focused combat built for speed and clarity
Face undead legions, primal clans, mutants, and Abyss-warped constructs, each demanding different tactics.
Solo or Co-op (1–4 Players)
Descend alone for a tense, atmospheric journey, or team up with up to 3 friends for chaotic co-op synergy:
Shared revives
Shared loot
Multiplayer puzzles
Team builds shaped by different spirit buffs
Spirit personalities interacting uniquely with each Assassin
Team composition matters… and your spirits may even argue through you.
Uncover the Truth Behind the Abyss
Abyssbound isn’t just about killing monsters. It’s a journey of unraveling:
Who were the Veil Guardians?
Why were their spirits bound to you?
What truly happened during the Last Seal War?
And why is the Abyss waking now?
Your descent is both physical and psychological.

The Cathedral Gate Has Awakened
Hey everyone,Today we want to share a closer look at the underground gate beneath the Town Cathedral in Abyssbound. This is not just a teleport or a transition point. It’s the moment where the Veil begins to crack.Hidden below the cathedral, the gate reacts to Abyss energy, flooding the chamber with violet light as the seal weakens. Standing before it is meant to feel like a threshold, a decision point between the safety of the town and the unknown descent below. We’ve shared a short video alongside this post showing the gate in action, how the environment reacts to its activation, and the atmosphere we’re building around this space. This is one of many locations we’ll be highlighting in our weekly Abyssbound updates, where we’ll share new environments, systems, and bits of lore as development continues. Thanks for following the project and wishlisting the game, it truly helps more than you know.🖤 See you below the Veil.Read full article on Community Announcements (Ferhat Mousavi)AnnouncementsOfficial
A Glimpse from Town: The Assassin Cabins
A small glimpse from Town (your players’ hub). This is the Assassin of the Veil settlement, and these four cabins aren’t just set dressing. Each cabin belongs to an assassin. In co-op, every player has their own space here, a place to return, regroup, and prepare before diving back into the Abyss. Think of it as your crew’s quiet corner of the world: personal, practical, and slightly unsettling. Steam Next Fest demo is on the way.
