About this game

War Fleet Captains puts you in command of massive sci-fi warships as you participate in epic fleet engagements. Team up with your friends or a random assortment of allied ship captains and take the fleet into various missions. War Fleet Captains aims to give you the most exciting sci-fi fleet engagement scenarios.

  • Multiplayer fleet battles

  • Different ship classes

    • Frigates

    • destroyers

    • Battleships

    • and more?

  • Tech tree progression

  • Ship customizations

Once you unlock your ship it doesn't end there. We plan to let you take ownership of your vessel. Make it yours visually and go even further by modifying ship components like Engines, Turrets and other modules.
(we'll keep this a secret for now... )

Our Vision:

We Plan to make a sci-fi fleet combat game that gives the thrill of your most favorite fleet engagement scenarios. Unlock ships of various Classes such as Frigates, Destroyers, Battleships....and More (Carriers perhaps?)

Look forward to taking part in straight up battles focusing purely on destroying the enemy fleet, and MORE :

  • Capture and hold strategic areas in the battle sector in domination.

  • Escort fleeing vessels to safety, or ambush them.

  • Break planetary blockades or enforce them.

Assault facilities to destroy them, or defend them.

We have so much planned!

What's next?

The Demo:

This is the ground level of our game and you get to take part in it's evolution.

You will get to experience the first fleet combat scenario, a straight up battle to destroy the enemy fleet, we will add more modes and maps as we develop them.

unlock ships of each available ship classes from the research tree:
you will be able to unlock the first ships of each class in tier 1.

What Lies Beyond?

We will be adding new ships, features, modes, maps!
Incrementally we will grow War Fleet Captains.

Devlog 2 : So... We Have Been Busy

Hello again, Captains! It has been a while since our first proper Steam devlog.Last time, we showed you the rather large list of things we wanted to change as Warfleet Captains evolved beyond the original demo: new Operations, ship customization, better movement, a complete UI overhaul, graphical improvements and a lot more.Since then, we have been quietly turning a lot of those plans into actual game systems. And somewhere along the way, the version of Warfleet Captains we are currently building started feeling very different from the demo you can play today. So take a seat, Captains.Let us show you what we have been cooking.🪖 Operations Are Now Actually Operational In our previous devlog, we introduced the idea of calling Warfleet Captains' game modes Operations. At the time, that was mostly a plan. Now we have rebuilt the underlying game mode system around it.The Team Deathmatch experience from the demo has been migrated into the new system as the Skirmish Operation, and we used that new foundation to build our first proper objective-based Operation:Domination.Instead of simply destroying the opposing fleet, teams now fight to capture and hold sectors across the battlefield. The system has also been expanded so different Operations can define their own scoring rules. In Domination, for example, actions such as capturing and defending sectors can contribute toward your score. We also had to rethink how spawning works. The demo uses fixed spawn points, which becomes problematic once objectives and battle lines can shift around the map. Our new dynamic spawn system evaluates what is happening around available spawn locations before deciding where to deploy you.It can avoid enemy-controlled areas, overcrowded friendly positions and locations that have already been assigned to another player.Which should make appearing directly in front of an angry Battleship considerably less common.Hopefully.🚀 Entering and Leaving the Battle Got More DramaticThe demo reuses the mini-jump e...

Devlog 1: Our Very First Devlog On Steam

Firstly Let us introduce ourselves, hi! We are Iron Blood Games, we are two indie devs hoping to make a mark in the game dev space and shine a light on the budding games industry from our small island nation of Sri Lanka: Since we launched the Demo of Warfleet Captains on Steam, we have been thrilled and pleasantly surprised by the reception we have gotten. With the novice marketing we did do, over 4000 wishlists have come through Warfleet Captains to date. We would like to welcome all of you joining us so early on our journey. We have been reading your reviews, and forum posts on steam, as well as the 100s of suggestions from fans that joined our discord (haven't you done so yet?). This has energized us to give Warfleet a whole slew of upgrades, and we've been hard at work implementing it all in prep for a Demo upgrade that will arrive soon(tm). Take a seat Captains, let us show you what we are cooking to improve the game. Oh if you want to get to a "tldr how can I get my hands on trying these new stuff before an official patch", scroll to the last section of this devlog!Incoming Improvements:🪖Brand New "Operations" (Mission System)📱UI Overhaul📖 Lore ♻️ Emergency Systems & Hull Regen🧩 Ship Modular Upgrade System🚀 Ship Movement Upgrades🤖 Better Bots🎮 Controls & Key binding📺 Graphical UpgradesConsidering how Warfleet Captains was originally concepted there was a lot of things within the game that needed to change in order for it to be a great PC title. if you want to learn about the history of our game's development you can catch up on this video:That being said, all of the above listed changes are what we are doing to help give the additional depth and fun the game needs...plus some extra sauce along the way.
