Explore Berlin's dark underbelly as an ambitious Kindred or a wretched Thinblood in this visually rich adventure RPG from Revive The Spark.

About this game

Beneath the city's gleaming façade, the clashing vampire factions have carved Berlin into a chessboard of blood and influence. The balance of power needs to be disrupted, if the old order enforced by the Ivory Tower is to prevail.
And you are the disruption.

Sent by her Camarilla masters, Alice must navigate the intricacies of the politics at play to destabilise the region and sow discord, ensuring no one faction claims ultimate dominion.

As she sinks her teeth deeper into the city, she encounters Lenz, who is scraping by on the fringes of the undead society. Their destinies intertwine, forcing a precarious alliance. Now, they must choose: cooperate or betray one another to survive the perilous nights ahead.

Alice's efforts to destabilize the city's factions are directly reflected on a living map of Berlin. This landscape is a shifting web of contested territories, where each political maneuver brings a district closer to or further from her grasp. To achieve the task set by her masters, she must strategically influence and command the mortals and Kindred she encounters, utilizing Disciplines, the supernatural gifts of the undead.

Meanwhile, Lenz survives by other means. Lacking Alice's superior Disciplines, he turns to his Alchemical knowledge to level the playing field. He crafts varied formulae through a hands-on Alchemy System that grant him new abilities and open conversation paths that would otherwise be closed to a Thinblood.

Every conversation is a battleground. Dialogue unfolds through a branching system of choices that shape relationships, reveal secrets, and open doors or slam them shut permanently. Alice's Disciplines and Lenz's Alchemical arsenal can be brought to bear at key moments, unlocking options unavailable to the unprepared and tilting the odds in your favour.

Berlin's vampire society is vast, fractured and treacherous. From the antagonistic Anarch gangs on the surface to the remnants of old, proud Camarilla, the city's Kindred each pursue their own agendas with ruthless conviction.

In the midst of it all, Alice must navigate through uneasy alliances and cutthroat politics. As a Ventrue of cold composure, calculating intelligence, and utter ruthlessness beneath a civil veneer, she has been sent to Berlin with a single, overriding mission: to ensure the city's underworld remains fractured, and that no one rises to claim it whole. Driven solely by her ambition, she acknowledges no possibility of failure.

A Thinblood punk from Berlin's divided streets, Lenz survives on the margins, oblivious to any grand schemes. His existence is a haze of drug-laced blood, punctuated by the strange, smoldering visions that Ashe unlocks in him... visions of those who came before and whispers from vampires long reduced to ash speaking only to him. Whether that makes him cursed or gifted, he hasn't decided. Most days, survival feels like enough of an ambition.

When their worlds collide, neither emerges unchanged. Bound together by circumstances neither chose, Alice and Lenz must decide whether the other is an ally worth trusting, or a liability worth betraying.

A deep Visual Novel steeped in the rich lore of Vampire: The Masquerade. Featuring branching storylines and gameplay mechanics inspired by the 5th edition tabletop RPG, this game is designed to be effortlessly accessible for newcomers while offering depth that long-time fans will appreciate.

  • Play as both, Alice and Lenz, two contrasting characters. Each possesses unique mechanics, motivations, and goals.

  • As Alice you will utilize Disciplines - supernatural abilities that subtly sway or forcibly dominate others to fulfill your ambitions.

  • Take advantage of Lenz’s Alchemical prowess and brew potions to unlock new dialogue options and shape conversations your way.

  • Take control over the ever-shifting political map of Berlin by carefully manipulating the five warring factions.

  • Manage your Hunger by satisfying the ever-present bloodthirst, but be careful to maintain The Masquerade and keep the mortals unaware of your existence.

  • Immerse yourself in Berlin's grimy underbelly, where junkie-riddled gang hideouts contrast sharply with grandiose opera houses and glistening hotel penthouses.

Step into the shadows of the vast World of Darkness, a universe spanning decades of tabletop legend, novels, and games. Immerse yourself in the rich, sprawling mythology of vampire clans, ancient conspiracies, and the Masquerade that has been keeping humanity blind for centuries.

Whether you’re a veteran of the setting, or just starting to unveil this world, the dark secrets and wonders of “Vampire: The Masquerade” will mercilessly pull you in.

    Devlog #2: Painting the World

Well met, Kindred.Last time we answered why this world, why Berlin, why a visual novel at all. We closed by saying the Art team would go next, so here they are. This one is about places. How a location travels from nothing to a finished painted background, which ones nearly broke us, what tools are actually open on the screen, and where the light and the colour come from. Characters get their own devlog after this. Trying to fit both crafts into one post would have done neither of them justice.A word on how these are put together. The questions get written on the comms side, sent over to the team, and the team writes back. What you read under each heading is their answer, not a rewrite of it. That means the register shifts from one section to the next. One answer is technical and lists software, another opens with a grudge and ends on a joke about UI work. We leave that alone on purpose. Nobody here talks about their own job in a house style, and the moment we smoothed it into one, it would stop being worth reading. This is a full loop showing the making of one scene. From blank canvas to actuall piece used in the game. What are the steps from a blank canvas to a finished background, and what do you use? We rarely start with a sketch in the traditional sense. The briefs from the writers give us enough of the scene to go straight to a blockout in 3D, a rough geometry for the things that matter, enough to establish the space, then several camera positions to choose between. We pick whichever one does most for the scene.Working from a 3D base is the only reason a team our size can produce this many locations. Moving a wall, changing the frame or relighting the whole room takes minutes. Redrawing it takes days. If we sketched every location by hand we would have fewer of them and we would experiment far less, because every experiment would cost a week. The 3D scene on the left is "the scaffolding" and a right one is a finished scene from the game. The blockout. Rough geome...

Devlog #1: Why We Are Making This Game

Well met, Kindred. You have heard plenty from us about Oaths & Ashes by now. The characters, the city, the screenshots, the Prologue. What you have not had is a proper look at the people making it, or at the reasoning underneath any of it.So we are starting a devlog series. In upcoming weeks we will open up the parts of this production one at a time: the writing, the art, the music, and the technology holding a branching script together. Real process, real work in progress, from the teams doing it.This first one is the foundations. Not a feature and not a reveal, just the awkward questions that came before any of the rest: why this world, why this city, and why this kind of game at all. We passed them around the studio and asked each team to answer in their own words. No press release voice. Here is what came back. What pulled you into the World of Darkness, and why Vampire and not some other setting? For us it starts with a grudge. Somewhere along the way, popular culture turned vampires into brooding boyfriends who sparkle in the sunlight, and all the horror drained out of the idea. We never got over that.Vampire: The Masquerade is the setting that refused to go along with it. Its vampires are monsters rather than teddy bears with fangs, and the game never lets you forget it, least of all when you are playing one. Feeding has a cost, power has a cost, and the person you used to be wears away a little more every decade, so the longest fight is with what you are becoming. On top of that sits the politics: sects, old grudges, a whole society running underneath ours, where every problem you have is another person with a name and an agenda. We also come to it with some history. We have had the chance to work on games set in this universe before, and part of the team still plays the tabletop version privately, dice, character sheets and all. At some point you stop waiting for somebody else to make the Vampire game you want, and you make it yourself. Why Berlin as the stage ...

From Poland with Love: thank you, and what comes next

Well met, Kindred. From Poland with Love closes today, and we are closing it with more of you than we started with. Our thanks to Untold Tales for organising the event, and to everyone who played the Prologue, wishlisted the game, left a review, or simply said something kind this week. For a studio our size that is not a rounding error, it is the whole reason to keep going. Here is what happens now: Starting next week we are doing something we wanted to do for a long time: introducing the rest of the cast, one character every week in the order you actually meet them in the story. That means beginning in Paris and working our way into Berlin. Some run this city, one of them is competing with you for the same promotion, and one of them already knows why you came. You can still play the Prologue, now new and improved. It is free, it runs about two hours, and it begins in Paris at the Opéra Garnier with a hunt for a Toreador who walked away from the Camarilla. Whether this is your first night with us or you are coming back to see what we changed, there has never been a better time to step into Berlin. If you do, keep doing what you did at Next Fest. Tell us what you love, tell us what you don't. We read all of it, and it is exactly how this game keeps getting better. Come hang out on the World of Darkness Discord. There's an incredibly active community over there, and we've got our own dedicated channel built just for the game. It's the best place to talk to us directly, share feedback, and stay in the loop on everything coming next. Come join us. 💬 Goodnight, Kindred. The Revive the Spark team

    From Poland with Love

Well met, Kindred. From Poland with Love has opened on Steam, and Oaths & Ashes is part of the lineup. The event is organised by Untold Tales and runs until August 3rd, putting a week's spotlight on games made in Poland. That is us. Revive the Spark is a small studio from Poland, and Vampire: The Masquerade - Oaths & Ashes is our narrative game set in a present-night Berlin that has stopped answering to anyone. Two protagonists carry it. Alice Lytelton, a Ventrue operative sent into the city with a Justicar's authority. Lenz, a Thinblood alchemist surviving its underside. One city, two very different ways to fall through it. This week is not only about us. From Poland with Love brings together a whole lineup of games made in Poland. You can browse every one of them here: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/46156395/sale/FromPolandWithLove2026 We did not want to walk into the event empty-handed. First, a thank you: everyone who played the demo at the last Steam Next Fest and took the time to tell us what worked and what did not, this update exists because of you. Your testing let us make the game better for the people who will play it next, and that is you too. Here is what changed: We rewrote the story in response to your feedback.Reworked the controls. You can now use the arrow keys to move between dialogue options and Space to confirm a choice, and Space also advances the scene when there is no choice to make.Improved the audio. Music, ambience and sound effects now play and trigger the way they should.Journal upgrades. We fixed existing entries and added new ones.A new rendering system. The game runs more smoothly, and we added animated character portraits.A dedicated Linux build. And the best part: you can still play the Prologue, now new and improved. It is free, it runs about two hours, and it begins in Paris at the Opéra Garnier with a hunt for a Toreador who walked away from the Camarilla. Whether this is your first night with us or you are coming back to s...
