Something is wrong with this hotel. Close your eyes. When you open them, some things will vanish… others won’t. Those are the clues. Maintain your sanity, photograph the anomalies, and decide which of the 6 suspects is guilty in this psychological mystery.

In The Anomaly Detective, navigate a haunted hotel where reality shifts. Photograph vanishing clues to unravel the mystery behind six suspects.

About this game

The Anomaly Detective is a first-person psychological mystery that will make you question everything you see. You arrive at the hotel for a routine investigation… but this place is not normal. Reality bends. Objects shift. And somewhere in these corridors, one of six people is hiding the truth.

CLOSE YOUR EYES. THE TRUTH STAYS.

When something feels wrong, close your eyes (B Key). Wait in the dark. When you open them again, the hallucinations vanish… but the real anomalies remain. Photograph them. They are your only solid evidence.

KEEP YOUR SANITY

The pressure builds fast. Your mind starts to crack. Light a cigarette, steady yourself, and keep searching before the hotel twists your perception any further. Just like the old-school detectives…

A DETECTIVE GAME WITH REAL CONSEQUENCES

This is not just anomaly hunting. It’s a full deduction experience:

  • Read briefings from your colleague Cole and start each day with purpose.

  • Spy on the residents through half-open doors — no face-to-face talks, only quiet observation.

  • Pin every photo and clue to your detective board. The game never tells you the answer. You decide.

6 SUSPECTS. MULTIPLE ENDINGS. YOUR DECISION.

The Anomaly Detective never hands you the truth. It only gives you the evidence. Who you accuse depends entirely on how you interpret what you’ve seen and photographed. Trust your eyes… or question them.

A focused, atmospheric experience designed for one intense session — with enough depth and alternate endings to pull you back for another run when you start doubting your first conclusion.

---

A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER

This is a solo-developed game. My goal was to create a tight, immersive mystery rather than a long open-world title. There are nearly 30 anomalies to discover and several possible endings. For the strongest atmosphere I recommend playing it in one sitting — then returning later with fresh eyes if you want to chase different conclusions.

Thank you for stepping into this uncanny hotel. I hope it stays with you.

    v1.0.3 Update

🔎 v1.0.3 Update: New Inspection Mode & Massive UX Fixes! Hey everyone! I've been working hard to polish the game based on your feedback. My goal for this update was to make the gameplay feel much smoother, more immersive, and more "premium." Here is everything new in version 1.0.3: Brand New Clue Inspection: You can now right-click any photo or clue on the detective board to zoom into it. The background will blur, a clean description text will appear on the left, and you can replay its voice line whenever you want. Interact While Holding the Camera: You no longer need to put your camera away to interact with the world. You can now open doors, call the elevator, or check desk files while looking through your camera lens. Smart Crosshair: To keep your screen clean, the crosshair will now hide itself when you hold up the camera. However, it will instantly pop up the moment you point at a door or a button so you know exactly where you are clicking. Pause-Friendly Dialogues: If you press ESC to pause the game during a radio broadcast or a character monologue, everything will now freeze perfectly mid-sentence (including the text timers). Once you unpause, the conversation will continue exactly where it left off. Fixed Custom Board Notes (Post-its): I completely rebuilt the saving system for the notes you write yourself. They will now perfectly remember their text and exact positions when you close and reload the game. Thank you so much for all your support and feedback. Let me know what you think of the new changes, and stay safe out there! - Solo Developer

    1.0.1 Update

Patch 1.0.1 - Pause System, Brightness & QoL Improvements Thank you all for playing and sharing your feedback! We've been actively listening and have just rolled out a new update focusing on Quality of Life (QoL), atmospheric polish, and some bug fixes. Settings & Quality of Life: Added a Pause System: Pressing ESC now properly freezes player movement, camera controls, and stress mechanics without breaking the game's physics or animations. Added a Brightness Slider: You can now adjust the game's brightness via the Settings menu. (Don't worry, brightness normalizes in the main menu to prevent text glare). Final Day Tracker: Added a clue counter (e.g., 6/10) to the Final Day sequence so you always know exactly how many clues you've gathered before making your final choice. Detective Board Improvements: Wire System Clarity: Clicking the wire spool now highlights all clues on the board, giving you a clear visual indication of where connections can be made. Cancel Mode: You can now simply right-click to instantly cancel the wire connection mode. Replay Evidence: You can now right-click on any previously discovered evidence on the board to replay its voiceover and subtitle. Camera & Gameplay Adjustments: Zoom Fix: Fixed an issue where zooming in too closely on an anomaly would cause the camera detection to fail. Audio Priority: Taking a successful photo now immediately interrupts and overrides any "failed attempt" voice lines. Atmospheric Polish: Added new dynamic "relief" voice lines for Silas that trigger occasionally when using a cigarette to calm down from a high-stress panic state. Tutorial Fix: Fixed a bug where certain visual tutorial prompts could be triggered through closed elevator doors or solid walls.
