REVEREND: Surf 'n Sin is the follow-up you didn't expect. A spin-off to the cult game REVEREND, this first-person shooter builds upon the gameplay and mechanics of the original, whilst throwing the story off the deep end. Have we jumped the shark? Water puns.

Navigate treacherous waves and deadly foes in REVEREND: Surf 'n Sin, an indie action game that blends familiar mechanics with a splashy new twist.

About this game

Being a former reverend can be rough. While transcending down into the fleshy Hell Pit by the end of the original game, the reverend’s mind starts playing tricks on him. Remembering back to a time at which he had to go on a combined missionary and charter trip, his memories might not tell the true story of what happened.

A bite-sized boomer shooter that expands upon the foundation of the original REVEREND game, while adding some new features and twists to the gameplay.

A standalone expansion in the series for the developers to test a few new things in a fun new environment, and to gather feedback from players for the upcoming sequel while reminding them of the series itself in a fun and interactive way.

Think of it as a non-canon take on the world and characters with a more overt comedic tone in the vein of the Red Dead Redemption expansion - Undead Nightmare, taking place outside canon and just having fun. A more obvious inspiration would be the Duke Nukem 3D expansion pack - Life’s a Beach, taking place during a vacation of the protagonist.

Features

  • Fast-paced boomer shooter combat!

  • A focus on exploration in large-scale levels!

  • Many silly weapons to shoot your fishy foes with!

  • Brand New Mechanics!

  • A Carribean-infused sea shanty soundtrack!

    Next Fest (Minor) Update

Well, hello there, devoted cruisers! We went back and forth about whether we should push a patch or not for the current demo in time for Next Fest - for about a second! Of course, we should take the opportunity and put some more elbow grease into what we got on the show floor! Again - we are incredibly grateful for the feedback we have received so far. It shows that some of you are as eager as us to make REV: SnS the best game it can be. So, what are some of the things we decided to do: fixed a few reported minor general issues (texture clipping, collision issues, etc) improved and/or removed some of the 2D railings, allowing smoother traversal slight increase to player base speed improved mini-boss cutscene polished up a few areas new enemy type added more Easter Eggs some new SFX Aloha for now! /E

Golden Ticket - 1st Class Update - Demo

A Very Belated Happy New Year Everyone!Since the release of the demo, we have received some wonderful feedback. We cannot thank the community enough (especially the ones in both the official DOSMan Discord server and the ones found over at the Zlimbratski/Brutal Zlim server). Your input has been, and will continue to be, much appreciated and invaluable to us - thank you all so much.We would like to address and explain the rather undercooked nature of the demo itself, upon its initial launch, back in December. We were certainly not forced by anyone to launch the demo, no matter what state it was in on a specific date or anything like that. As a matter of fact, we (that being me - Emil, and Joel) worked tirelessly (although, by the end, we were spent) the night before the release, and on the day of, me and the DOSMan himself (Sam) sat together, past the deadline, just to make sure as much as possible worked as good as it could. All this because a few particularly nasty bugs had crept up on us a few nights before. Polish and further development had to take a backseat, just so the demo wouldn't break entirely.REV: SnS, as the intro slate in the demo states, was originally meant to be a quick experiment; even envisioned as an expansion pack of sorts to the original game early on. As our ambition for the proper sequel grew, so did the amount of experiments and testing we wanted to do with SnS. The poor game turned from an even more tongue-in-cheek romp than the original, to a feature creeped test subject. While we would not say it has ended up in a rough spot, it has certainly gone through a the ringer at points. Not to mention the engine in use getting several (and amazing) updates during development, basically forcing us to update and bug test our project several times over, just so we could take advantage and implement some of the great new features the engine keeps getting. To keep ourselves from getting too long in the tooth (maybe saving those thoughts for after the f...
