Content notice: Sudoku Dungeon depicts a fantasy conflict that frequently involves cartoonish violence where heroic characters defeat various enemies, and they themselves might be defeated by vampires draining their blood, or a skeleton shooting them with a bow. It also contains a sometimes bleak story about magical corruption, danger and threat.

About this game
Sudoku Dungeon is a fantasy tactical puzzle game where every battle is a Sudoku.
Each 9x9 grid is filled with enemies valued 1–9, and—just like a classic Sudoku—each number appears only once per row, column, and box. Your heroes can only defeat specific enemies based on unique rules. The Barbarian can only strike increasingly challenging foes; the Scout can clear fog when defeating an opponent; the Paladin smites enemies that do not conform to the rules of Sudoku; the Wizard (and his colleagues) creates fireballs that explode in Pentomino shapes; and more. With 25 characters, you'll craft ever-changing tactical solutions for each encounter.
Your role as Tactical Co-ordinator is simple in theory and devilishly tricky in practice:
Clear every enemy on the grid, use minimal energy and collect the loot.
Across 80 handcrafted puzzles, you'll confront five enemy factions, each escalating the challenge: Goblinoids, Undead, Beasts, Demons, and the enigmatic Elementals. Every biome ends in a boss battle that bends the rules in surprising ways. In each campaign mode puzzle, you are given a set group of heroes with limited energy. Many enemies have their own special rules which alter how you'll have to approach defeating them. Beat them all to help the Guild get to the bottom of the nefarious Enclave, vanquish whoever is behind their evil machinations and save the day!
Complete episodes to unlock heroes for Challenge Mode, where you can replay any puzzle you've beaten in the campaign now with your whole roster. Experiment with party synergy, and chase perfect-score solutions. Then see how you've done against other players in challenge mode score leaderboards.

Patch 1.1.2 - Skip to the end!
We've had more great feedback and few bug reports as well that we wanted to address. - We got some requests to for a faster fast-forward, as well as a bug report of getting stuck in resolving. So we've added a new button (and matching shortcut for keyboard and gamepad) so you can skip resolving and just go straight to the result of that hero completing their path! - We've updated to Godot 4.6 from 4.5. Some streamers have reported issues with OBS capturing the rendering and we've had some other engine related bug reports. We can't say for sure that this update will fix these, but we hope so, please let us know with the developer feedback in settings. We hope you enjoy these updates, and please keep the feedback coming.Read full article on Community Announcements (contact)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch 1.1.1 - Steam Deck Improvements
We've had some feedback from Steam Deck players and wanted to make some changes to help address these points. Enemy health font-size and small line helper font-sizes - These have been increased for improved legibility, especially on Steam Deck. Line Colour Helpers - The line colouring for Druids & Shamans now gives an indication as to which form they would need to switch to for a particular enemy on the line. The monk line colouring has also been improved slightly, especially for cases where the line only briefly passed through a box.Read full article on Community Announcements (contact)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch v1.1 - Post Launch Updates
It's been super exciting as a solo dev to launch Sudoku Dungeon and see people playing and streaming it. However it's also shown up a few things that could be done to improve people's experience. So this small patch addresses some of the feedback we've had. New Feature: When you fail a puzzle now, you can undo your final move from the results screen. Bug Fix: Undo/Redo unintended behaviour has been addressed. Bug Fix: AoE Spellcasters no longer show their AoE area when when ending path drawing would just cancel the move. Minor Change: Some text in the general help and class descriptions updated to make rules clearer. Hope you enjoy these changes, keep sending feedback and keep on solving puzzles!Read full article on Community Announcements (contact)
