    Devlog #3: Drip Droppin' Along

Hey everyone!Got another dev log update for you all. A lot has changed with Dewdrop since the last one. So many little quality of life tweaks have made the gameplay feel smoother, and more polish on the UI has helped everything come together like a complete experience. There's honestly so much that it's hard to decide where to start...Let's kick things off with vine customization. Last time I introduced custom soundbanks, but I've since scrapped that idea and narrowed it down to individual vines. I always knew I wanted players to upload their own vines to the Workshop, but making people build a whole soundbank just to do that felt tedious. So instead you can now create individual vines, name them, and upload them straight to the Steam Workshop. This also came out of some other changes I had to make to the vine instrument menu itself. Before, you had 7 sounds you could select and add FX to. If you wanted different vines, you had to switch to a new soundbank. The problem was that this didn't let you have separate FX per soundbank. Each instrument slot had its own channel and FX, so swapping the soundbank meant the vine in that slot inherited the same FX. To fix this, I decided to let you add up to 12 of any vine, which means there are now 12 audio channels each with their own FX. That should give people a lot more creative freedom. It also lets you swap out a vine you've already drawn with to test a different sound.I've improved the FX panel too. Instead of always sitting at the bottom, it now pops up when you hover over the arrow icon above the vine slot. This makes it way clearer which vine's FX you're actually changing.Along with the UI stuff, I've been working on the background shader. I added some nice highlights to the waves that give them more depth. I also fixed a bug on Nvidia GPUs where the waves had visual artifacts and jagged edges. There are also some subtle orbs drifting around now, slowly shifting color to add a bit more variety to the scene.Another big ...

Release Date Delayed to September 18th

Hey everyone,I've got some news today. I'm pushing Dewdrop's release back one month, to September 18th.I know a delay isn't what anyone wants to hear, but I'd rather take the extra time now than ship something that isn't fully polished. Dewdrop is feature complete, I'm just in the process of tightening everything up.Honestly, I underestimated how long it would take to finish and playtest over 50 levels. On top of that, since I'm a one man team, I'm also handling trailers, the Steam page, and marketing all on my own, so something had to give. A short delay gives me the room to get it right for you all.Thank you all for the patience and support so far. We are so close now! Just need a little more time to get this into the shape you deserve. I can't wait to hear all of your beautiful creations soon!(I will also be releasing another devlog soon to show you all of the latest changes so stay tuned)

Devlog #2: More Ways to Create and Share!

Hello everybody! It's been another month since the last update and I've got even more awesome features in development to share with you all! Last time, the demo got a new update with puzzles, quality of life features, and visual improvements. This time, I've been focusing more on the creative and customization side of the game. Please keep in mind these features are a work in progressVine Customization That's right! You can now customize the default vines or create your own. Change the color, glow, leaves/icons, sounds, and appearance of the vines to whatever you like. Save them and experiment with your newly created vines in sandbox mode.Download Feature People have been asking me to add the ability to download their creations as a sound file for a long time now, and I've finally managed to get it implemented! The game stores the last 45 seconds of audio and lets you select a region to save in a new simple editor I created. I'm also planning to add a record button and some additional options for the length of audio saved in the editor.Steam Workshop The final big feature I've added to the game is Steam Workshop support! I know that for a game like Dewdrop, it's incredibly important that people are able to share their creations easily. Workshop support is a no-brainer for this sort of game, and I've finally gotten it into a state that's worth showing! Please keep in mind the UI is still a work in progress. Currently you can only upload your tracks and save files to it, but I plan to extend this to vine customization as well, so people can share their awesome sound banks too!And that wraps up this update! This has been an incredible part of my life, developing this game for you all, and your kind words and excitement are what keep me going. Stay tuned for more news in the future! Share the game with a friend, and perhaps consider joining the Discord!Keep bouncing those little Dewdrops!
