Decimation challenges you to build strategic defenses while fighting alongside your hero through a campaign to uncover the fate of a distant planet. Experience unique action, indie strategy, and early access gameplay.

About this game

Tower defense where YOU are the deciding factor. This isn't passive strategy. You command a hero on the battlefield with ARPG-style combat while managing tower defenses. Perfect tower placement means nothing without playing your hero to the fullest.

ACTIVE HERO COMBAT

Control your hero directly with ARPG-style combat:

  • 4 active hero abilities that charge from defeated enemies or use cooldown timers

  • Avoid enemy attacks, pick up power-up orbs, and execute precise skill rotations

  • Your hero's performance determines victory or defeat. Towers alone won't save you

ROGUELITE BATTLE EFFECTS

Elite enemies drop power-up orbs that pause combat and present 3 random choices from 15 game-changing battle effects:

  • Direct damage strikes, speed manipulation, damage amplification, resource boosts and more

  • Different effects each run keep battles fresh and unpredictable

  • Strategic timing of these effects can turn losing situations into clutch victories

RPG PROGRESSION

Upgrade your hero and arsenal between battles:

  • Level up your hero to spend skill points

  • Craft equipment from battle loot to equip on towers and heroes

  • Unlock new strategic options as you acquire new equipment modules

TACTICAL TOWER DEFENSE

Place and upgrade towers with distinct roles while fighting alongside them. Resource management, positioning, and timing matter, but your hero skills are what clinch victory.

COMPLETE 1.0 VISION:

16 campaign levels across 4 Acts, 3 difficulty tiers, multiple heroes and towers, endless mode replayability.

WHY EARLY ACCESS?

Your feedback shapes balance, difficulty curves, and feature priorities as development continues.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT THE GAME'S EARLY ACCESS VERSION?

  • EA story content covers 2 out of the 4 planned campaign acts with an estimated playtime of roughly 3 hours and 30 minutes of gameplay.

  • Beyond the campaign, there are 2 Endless Challenge levels in the EA version.

    Decimation EA Update Patch v0.50.02

EARLY ACCESS Patch Notes • Version 0.50.02August 29, 2026New Feature: Supply Depot Inventory Item Filters - Added new filter options to the Supply Depot inventory screen: Rarity, Module Type, and Set Effect.- The Module Type and Set Effect filters only appear while viewing the Equipment Modules tab, since they don't apply to other item types.- Filters can be combined with the existing item category tabs (Everything / Item Cache / Equipment Modules / Crafting Materials) to help narrow down exactly what you're looking for.- Adjusted the display area of the Inventory to see more items at once. Bug Fixes Crafting- Fixed a bug where crafting the same module multiple times in a row would consume more Module Cores than intended, with the cost increasing each time.- Fixed an issue where repeatedly allocating materials to the same crafting requirement could cause materials to be over-counted.- Fixed a bug where Datapoints were not updating correctly after crafting a module in the Crafting screen. Supply Depot- Fixed a bug where the inventory would stop displaying items after the 200th slot, even though inventory capacity is 300. All owned items now display correctly. Battle- Fixed a bug where a turret's repair cost would freeze after opening its repair menu once, no longer updating even as the turret took further damage.- Fixed an issue where battle effect status icons could be visually blocked by their stack-count numbers. Icons have been slightly enlarged for better clarity Endless Mode (Iron Escalation and Unending Directive)- Fixed a bug where Hero XP, Datapoints, and Item Cache rewards earned from Circuit Effects during an Endless Mode run could be lost if the player exited or retried the level from the Pause Menu instead of using the results screen's Continue/Retry buttons.- Fixed an issue where using Retry or Exit Mission from the Pause Menu during an Endless Mode run would not properly bring up the rewards screen. UI/UX Improvements- Fixed a display bug in the Worksh...

Thank You (and a small ask)

Greetings Commanders!Every single person who's picked up Decimation so far and played it, sent feedback, or just quietly enjoyed a few levels means a lot more than any dashboard number could show. This is a solo project, and it's still a little surreal seeing people actually playing it. Being able to launch the game last August 13th was a huge deal for me. It was a journey that started way back in 2012, when the game was nothing more than a prototype of an overly ambitious 4X game done in the old XNA framework. If you want to see footage from 12 years ago of what the game looked like, there are a few old videos on Decimation's Youtube Channel that show just that. :)The game has come a long way, especially in the last 26 months since it was re-scoped into the Tower Defense + ARPG hybrid that you're able to play right now. And there's still more work ahead to have the complete 1.0 vision, but I can't wait to see what you guys will think about Act 3's new hero and challenges, and what your reaction will be to the campaign's conclusion in Act 4. The support you've shown through the game's EA launch is fuel for me to accomplish just that. And for this, I extend my heartfelt thank you.Now here comes the small ask: If you've got a few minutes and any thoughts on the game (good, critical, or somewhere in between), an honest Steam review would help enormously. Decimation currently has 5 of the 10 reviews Steam requires before it starts showing up in more places for new players to discover. Every one genuinely counts right now. Also, for anyone still on the fence about picking it up: the current price reflects where the game is today. As Act 3 and Act 4 are completed and added, the price will increase to match the amount of content, so this is the lowest it's likely to be.And with that, it's back to work for me :) Today, we'll have a patch to the game's EA version and Demo version as well (details in a separate announcement). Thanks again for playing! More to come!-DuskyAddend...

    Decimation Early Access Launches Today!

The wait is over! Decimation has officially launched into Early Access. Thank you for following the journey through the demo, and welcome to everyone jumping in for the first time. This post covers what's in today's launch, what's changed since the demo, and what's coming next. What's in the Early Access versionDecimation's EA release features the first 2 acts of the game's planned 4-act story campaign. Each act contains 4 hand-crafted levels, each set in a distinct location. That means 8 full levels are playable right now. Each act also includes its own Endless Challenge Mode - A self-contained, replayable test of how far you can push your build once the story missions are cleared, with its own reward track. This mode is much more difficult than the campaign missions, and it’s meant to challenge the most hardcore TD aficionado. To be upfront: yes, this is about 50% of the total planned story and level content. But Act 1 and Act 2 were designed as self-contained narrative arcs. Each one resolves its own part of the story before leading into the next. You're not getting half of an unfinished story; you're getting two complete chapters, with more to come. Below are screenshots of the 8 levels available in EA right now, spanning the first 2 acts of the game: Current State of the game vs. the DemoThe demo was last updated on May 1st 2026. Since then, on top of all the new levels, enemies, and story content above, Early Access brings a long list of quality-of-life updates, optimizations, balance passes, and new systems:New Systems and ContentNew Enemy Resistance versus Turret Damage Type system to increase strategic depth and the importance of choosing effective equipment loadouts against specific enemies. You can now view enemy resistance information by clicking on any enemy in the battlefield. Relevant details are displayed on the \ of the Battle UI: Turrets and Heroes now have associated damage types. You can see the what damage type a turret has when selecting what to bui...
