About this game
Finally, the starship command experience you've been waiting for.
Take the conn of the Ajax-class destroyer CSV Leonidas in Starship Command: Orion Spur, the authentic capital ship simulator that puts YOU in the captain's chair during a critical moment in galactic history.
This isn't another arcade-like space combat sim. In Starship Command: Orion Spur, YOU are the commanding officer:
Lead from the Bridge: Issue orders to your crew in real-time tactical combat
Take Direct Control: Seamlessly switch to piloting your ship through the void
Know Your Crew: Walk your ship and interact with officers between missions
Deep, Meaningful Story: Make decisions about the conflict and how you fight when the rules of war collapse. What will you become to defeat the enemy?
Authentic Capital Ship Combat
Manage power distribution between weapons, shields, and engines
Fire neutron beams, magnetic cannons, and guided missiles
Target enemy subsystems to disable rather than destroy
Every decision has consequences
Immersive Single-Player Campaign Experience war in space through the lens of Daniel Gibbs' Terran Diaspora universe. Navigate the moral complexities of command as you protect innocent civilians while engaging hostile forces in the war-torn Orion Spur.
Built by Space Sim Fans, For Space Sim Fans Created by military sci-fi author Daniel Gibbs and a passionate indie team, this is the starship command game we've always wanted to play.
First look demo is coming soon!
The bridge is waiting, Captain.

Friday Fleet Dispatch #34 - Another Patch Deployed on SCOS!
Commanders, Over the last week, we’ve progressed through several internal builds, and accomplished the following:· Implemented tooltips in the third scene of the Campaign demo (While CAP Omar is talking, his commentary is intended to give you tips/advice on how to beat the enemy. What he’s explaining is now highlighted so it makes more sense.)· Fixed an issue where the CMC keyboard event was incorrectly set to be the same as the Nav’s· In Scene 3 of the Campaign, the tactical window is forced open just before XO begins speaking to ensure visibility of hints· Modified the behavior of player look coroutine to accept a speed parameter· It is hoped this will fix the mystery TAO bug, this is the only station that moves the player camera manually o Speed is now greatly increased for the TAO turn in the first scene of the campaign to prevent any potential issues with coroutine lockout there· Moved interior player start position to just behind the command chairs· Fixed a bug in how beam hit is calculated. Enemy beams are now much more effective. (We’re looking carefully to see if this throws balance out of whack. So far, internal play testing suggests that while it does marginally increase difficulty, once you get the knack of how combat works, its quite possible to take out the three enemy ships in the third scene.) While this is does mark the end of our current levels of funding (and therefor, most activities on SCOS), our Unity developer has very graciously offered to keep working in his spare time on improvements. To that end, we are now marching steadily towards our Kickstarter, hopefully in the month of April; if not, May – look for a major update next week as we refactor the Kickstarter based on feedback from the community.Sign up for Kickstarter launch notifications here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danielgibbs/starship-command-orion-spurAnd finally, the art team put together some additional in-universe ship ...Read full article on Community Announcements (TheColonel)Patch NotesOfficial

However, we would like to note that this is the bulk of our planned efforts for the Alpha Demo. In the near future we will start sending the game out to games media/blogs/YouTubers, etc in hopes of gaining support for our Kickstarter which will be upcoming in the near future. SCOS - Minor Update + What's Incoming
Commanders,On behalf of the entire SCOS team, I want to express how grateful we are that you’ve been playing our alpha demo. We know there’s still a way to go, and your feedback (and logs) have been vital in giving our Unity developer (Snifheim) the data he needs to hunt down and fix bugs. We’re also aware of a number of bugs that are annoying rather than game-breaking, as well as feedback on needed QOL improvements. We’re hard at work, with all hands on deck! And while that update bakes, we have pushed out some quick fixes that address the ultra-wide monitor and input issues in the campaign, as well as a fix for a bug that prevented the game from retaining the frame rate limit setting from session to session.Additionally, while we are going to implement tooltips, a bridge command control map, and better instructions in the campaign’s third mission, in the meantime we’ve produced two video tutorials explaining how the exterior space view and interior bridge command modes work in detail.Exterior: Interior: I hope these are helpful. Our next update is focused on significant performance improvements, especially for Nvidia 3000/2000/1000 series cards. While that’s in progress, if you’re experiencing interior FPS issues, lower the “Window Quality” setting under video settings. It is the number one lever to pull for interior performance right now.Again, I want to thank everyone who’s played and apologize to those who have had issues. Our goal is to improve SCOS as fast as possible. We hope you’ll stick with us because the best is still ahead.v/rDaniel GibbsRead full article on Community Announcements (TheColonel)
