About this game
Investigate branching locations, question a unique cast of characters, and make game-changing deductions.
Just try not to get caught up in something much bigger than you bargained for…

It’s 1949. Hollywood’s Golden Age is at its peak. Corruption hangs over the city like smog. And disgraced detective Jack Baylor is reluctantly drawn into the case of a lifetime: tracking down budding movie starlet Ava Monroe.
The investigation will take him from murky jazz clubs to glamorous mansions, and from studio backlots to the back of beyond – dragging Jack through a who’s who of crooked politicians, dirty cops, and sleazy movie moguls.

As each new clue slots into place, you’ll cover the length and breadth of an urban jungle overflowing with interconnected locations – often with multiple choices on where to go next.
Each scene unlocks new characters to speak to, new puzzles to solve, and new perspectives on three key questions:
What makes the city tick?
Who pulls the strings?
And what drives bad people to do worse things.

Progressing Jack’s investigation means making intelligent deductions that drive the story forwards.
By interacting with people, places and objects, you’ll unlock DEDUCTION WORDS that connect the dots and help you make insightful connections.
Investigate each scene thoroughly and solve its context-driven DEDUCTION STATEMENT to inch closer to the truth.

GAME FEATURES:
15+ fully voiced characters
25+ noir-infused story locations
Interactive puzzles and branching conversations
Detective-inspired deduction mechanics
A gripping, twisty murder mystery

Have you played BUNKWORKS’ debut game?
While notably different in tone and style from The Murder of Ava Monroe, my first game was a labour of love that took several years to make – and taught me a lot about game development that I’m bringing forward to this new project: The Biggleboss IncidentThe Biggleboss Incident is a pointy-clicky comedy corporate thriller where you’ll solve puzzles, get to know a bunch of weird colleagues, and unravel a sinister global conspiracy. All in a day’s work… Some praise for Biggleboss: “A warm, quirky and gloriously off-kilter take on office life… Crisp cartoon graphics, a perkily chill jazz soundtrack and some stellar voice acting are just the cherry on top.”Adventure Game Hotspot “A reminder that games can be clever, personal, and genuinely funny without being grandiose. For fans of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, or even Dilbert, this game will feel like coming home.”Softpedia I hope you give it a go, and I really hope you enjoy it! Thanks!
