Take charge of a lighthouse in Fathom's End, an early access simulation where your decisions shape survival against the elements. Navigate treacherous conditions and limited resources to keep the beacon lit in this isolated Atlantic outpost.
About this game
Fathom's End is a first-person lighthouse keeper simulation set on a lone tower far out in the Atlantic. Miles from land, the lighthouse is yours to run.
You maintain the beacon, manage its systems, respond to radio calls, and keep the light turning through long nights and unpredictable weather.
The work is slow. Long stretches of careful observation, watching over systems that don't always announce when they need attention. The main lamp can blow. The clutch can jam. A breaker trips, the lens dirties, the evaporator needs priming. There are over a dozen systems to learn and monitor, and faults develop whether you're paying attention or not. Every lapse carries weight. It's a slow, tactile experience about isolation, repetition, and quiet persistence.
Key Features
Immersive first-person simulation – Operate and monitor the lighthouse's systems: lamps, clutch, generator, foghorn, radar, radio, and more. Each one needs regular attention. Neglect has consequences.
Dynamic weather and atmosphere – Experience storms, fog, and calm seas in a detailed and reactive Atlantic environment.
Daily routine and responsibility – Maintain the light, manage resources, and complete daily logs for the Maritime & Navigation Lighthouse Authority.
Isolation as gameplay – Embrace the quiet, the repetition, and the weight of duty. The tower won't run itself and it won't always tell you when something's wrong.
Survival through scarcity – Track hunger and thirst, budget limited funds, and plan carefully to afford infrequent supply drops.
Living world beyond the horizon – Encounter unique radio calls from passing ships and distant stations, hinting at a wider world you’ll never see.
Fathom's End is in Early Access. The current experience represents the core simulation. Substantial new systems, activities, and content are planned to keep the player busy, especially during the quieter moments. Below is the 2026 roadocean map with just a selection of features planned to be added this year alongside significant performance improvements and bug fixes.

Fathom's End 0.4 - What's Coming Next
Hello everyone! It’s been a little while since the last proper development update, mostly because I’ve been extremely busy working on 0.4, which is shaping up to be the biggest update to Fathom’s End so far. There’s still a bit of work left to do, but I wanted to share a few of the things I’ve been working on and give you an idea of what’s coming.Fishing is getting a complete overhaulFishing has been completely reworked for 0.4.Rather than simply waiting for a catch, fishing will now involve a proper bait system and a new timing-based mechanic for successfully hooking and landing fish. There’s also a new species to catch, European Seabass, which produces more raw fish when prepared.Skill BooksA new series of Skill Books will allow you to permanently improve certain abilities by purchasing and reading them. The first set focuses on fishing, with improvements to things like hooking and landing fish, catching larger specimens and attracting bites more quickly. This is a system I can build on with many more additional skills in future updates.More life on the radioShips passing Fathom’s End will have another reason to get in touch, with a new radio call type being added alongside the existing requests. There are also more than 10 new ships currently being added, complete with new names, voices and vessel cards to collect. So if you thought you knew everyone sailing past the lighthouse, that won’t last much longer.A few other things...I’ve also been working on a new notification system, as well as contextual interaction prompts, to make important information much clearer without relying quite so heavily on tooltips and guesswork. Some of the lighthouse’s ladders are being replaced with spiral staircases, making getting around feel a little more natural and realistic. There’s new music on the way too, along with plenty of smaller additions, balancing changes and fixes that I’ll talk more about closer to release.0.4 is still very much a work in progress, but I’m really happy with h...Read full article on Community Announcements (Lonely Anchor)Patch NotesOfficial
