About this game

Tiefenwolf is a cooperative submarine simulator centered on a World War II Type VIIC U-boat, recreated with deep attention to historical detail and technical accuracy. The submarine is modeled down to the smallest elements from compartments and equipment to authentic operating procedures and combat decision-making. Every player is a full member of the crew. The captain issues orders, the navigator plots the course, the engineer monitors the systems, and the radio operator listens to sonar. Mission success depends on reaction speed, discipline, communication, and calm decision-making under pressure. The submarine demands constant attention: equipment wears down, systems fail, combat damage, system outages, and flooding of individual compartments all of which the crew must contain and control at any cost. The world around you is constantly changing. Dynamic weather, waves, fog, and lighting directly affect navigation, enemy detection, and the outcome of engagements. This is not an arcade game. It’s a tense, slow, and unforgiving simulator where a single mistake can cost the crew their lives and the right decision can change the outcome of an entire operation. Seal the hatches. Dive.

TiefenWolf — Development UpdateHello everyone! It’s been a while since our last update because we’ve been actively focused on development. We’d like to share the current state of the project and some of the latest news.ModelingWork continues on modeling a variety of ships. We are optimizing a large number of the submarine’s textures and models to reduce video memory (VRAM) usage. This is a fairly time-consuming process.Work on modeling and detailing the submarine’s interior is ongoing. images not full. have some black parts Interaction SystemThe player interaction system has been completely redesigned and rebuilt. The new system provides several important improvements:Significantly lower network traffic.Greater functionality and flexibility when configuring interactions.Improved synchronization between players.A new compensation system for poor or unstable internet connections. The SubmarineWe are receiving help from some excellent people with extensive technical knowledge of the Type VII U-boat. They have provided us with a great deal of new information and clarified the operation of several systems. As a result, some of the submarine’s systems have been reworked to improve their historical and technical accuracy.Closed testing conducted in the spring also revealed several problems. Fixing them required a considerable amount of time and a major overhaul of how information is exchanged between the submarine’s individual systems. To give a simplified example: a diesel engine produces a certain amount of power at the shaft and drives the propeller. It receives information from the clutch and electric motors, reports the current RPM to the submarine’s movement system, and also informs the fuel system of its current fuel consumption. Most of the submarine’s individual components communicate with one another in this way. The previous method used for this communication was responsible for several synchronization problems experienced by players. We have now created a new comm...

    Devlog - March 2026

Hi everyone! I'd like to tell you a little bit about what we're currently working on. First of all, we're fixing many of the issues that were identified earlier. We already have the groundwork for the basic AI for NPC ships. In short, the destroyers behave very aggressively, and you'll have to try hard to outsmart them. We've also laid the foundation for implementing bots in the future. This doesn't mean that this task is a priority right now, but we've made a start. We're also in the final stretch with the submarine flooding model. As for modeling: We're actively expanding the variety of ships, and all of them are real prototypes. We're also continuing to work on filling the interior of the submarine.
