Survival Progression Update & Gameplay Improvements
Brief Update - Thank You!First of all, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to play the demo and leave feedback over the past week. It has been genuinely invaluable and has already helped shape some of the changes in this update.I've just pushed the latest build, which includes a few important gameplay changes:Survival cards are now unlocked in a new way during runs.Every survival card now has a rarity, making stronger cards appear less frequently. The player's starting stats have been increased, so the game feels much better right from the start instead of feeling slow until you've unlocked a handful of cards. These systems are still a work in progress, so please keep the feedback coming. Every comment, suggestion, and bug report helps make the game better.Recommended: Reset Your ProgressBecause of the changes to progression and card unlocking, I highly recommend resetting your progress before playing this update to avoid any odd behaviour with existing saves. To reset your progress:From the Main Hub, press ESC.Click the Reset Progress button in the bottom-left corner of the menu. Thanks again for all the support. It's been great seeing everyone play, and I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of these latest changes.Read full article on Community Announcements (ObviousLeeMe)Patch NotesOfficial
Custom Run Settings Arrive in Haven and Hell
I've been speaking with some players over the last few days, and one piece of feedback came up quite a bit: Survival mode can get pretty challenging, especially for newer players or those still learning how the card system works. To help with that, I've added a new Custom Run Settings menu that lets you tailor the experience to your own playstyle.Alongside this, there are now four quick presets:EasyA more relaxed experience with fewer threats and less pressure. Great for learning builds, testing cards, or simply surviving longer.DefaultThe standard Haven and Hell experience. This is how the game is currently balanced by default.HardEnemies become more dangerous, waves become more intense, and survival requires much better decision making.ChaosFor those who think the game isn't trying hard enough to kill them. Expect overwhelming enemy numbers, faster spawns, and complete mayhem.Fine Tune Every RunIf the presets aren't enough, you can also adjust individual settings yourself, including:Wave pacingEnemy count per waveSpawn speedFate generationFate gained from killsEnemy movement speedEnemy healthEnemy damageMaximum enemies allowed on screenWant a slow-paced survival experience with powerful enemies? Go for it.Want endless swarms of weak monsters and Fate cards flying everywhere? That's possible too. This system is designed to let everyone play the way they enjoy most, whether that's a more casual run or an absolute nightmare. As always, keep the feedback coming. I'm continuing to tweak and improve Haven and Hell based on what players are telling me, and this update is a direct result of those conversations.Read full article on Community Announcements (ObviousLeeMe)AnnouncementsOfficial
Haven and Hell Demo is Live!
The first public demo of Haven and Hell is now available. This is an early work-in-progress version of the game and a chance to get a feel for the core gameplay loop. The dungeon content has been scaled back for the demo, so it's smaller than what is planned for the full release, but there's still plenty to explore, unlock, and survive.Fight through waves of enemies, collect powerful cards, build your character, and switch between Haven and Hell to adapt to the challenges ahead. Every run offers different card combinations, enemy encounters, and opportunities to push your score higher. As development continues, your feedback will help shape future updates, balance changes, new cards, enemies, bosses, and dungeon expansions.I've also set up a Discord server:https://discord.gg/NEMHPQMapThere's not much there right now, but I'll be posting development updates, demo changes, future plans, and patch notes there from now on.Thanks for checking out Haven and Hell and giving the demo a try. See you in the dungeon.Read full article on Community Announcements (ObviousLeeMe)
